5 out of 5 eggsEnhance your sim life

Pros: -I can drive like a pro with ease now on all my sims.
-Can replace parts and customize with certain 3rd party H-pattern/sequential shifters.
-Have been using daily for weeks, no signs of noticeable wear.
-Come touch the real leather on my wheel, bro.

Cons: -Had to open H-shifter and remove a plastic ring that fell preventing shifting in 1,2,5 & 6.

Other Thoughts: If you wanna be a real racecar driver while playing your sims you need a sim wheel with FFB and a clutch. This is a great choice that happens to be the budget friendliest.

3 out of 5 eggsMostly Great Wheel, too Bad It's Made by Logitech

Pros: Pros: Nice force feedback, feels good for the most part. Is a nice wheel for the price. Wheel is comfortable for extended play, decent quality craftsmanship, and sturdy build. 900 degrees of rotation with options to customize FFB settings, wheel rotation, etc. Wide range of supported games, including partial compatibility with some others with a bit of work. Many have had their wheels for extended periods of time without trouble. Plus, it comes with a 3-year Limited Warranty from Logitech.

Cons: The biggest con here would be the fact that it is Logitech. While I have been a loyal customer of Logitech for many, many years, I am disappointed with Logitech, both in the problems I will soon mention, and their support.

First, let's begin with what is wrong with my wheel. I did not take it apart to check inside, as this would void my warranty, but the symptoms I have I looked up online and most likely the encoder wheel is broken/cracked inside the wheel. Usually it is said to be caused by the force feedback forces, or heat generated from the FFB motors, but either way it boils down to the fact that the plastic they use is too flimsy / too weak (or the fact that they used plastic in the first place). This issue has been an ongoing problem with the G27, I looked it up the other day and found threads dating back to 2009! Sad that Logitech never fixed an obvious flaw with their product.

Trying to get help with the product, I want to return it to Logitech as it is under a 3 year warranty. Since I bought it on sale, obviously I do not want a refund, I want a replacement. But I doubt I will get one, Logitech doesn't even sell the G27 anymore so who knows what will happen. I now have three (3) tickets open with them (two of which I made myself), yet they can't actually help me. Surprisingly, my hold time was only about maybe twenty to thirty minutes, which was better than I expected. Except that when I finally got on the phone with someone, I realized that they had no intention of actually helping me get my warranty and returning the product. The man on the other end of the phone obviously had problems speaking English, and whenever I would ask him to repeat himself or clarify what he was saying, he would go silent, sometimes for up to thirty or forty seconds, and then so "Okay" and continue on. Many times I had to backtrack to get him to simply clarify what he was saying, and twice he wrongly understood what I said the problem was. Finally, he told me that I would have an email from him, which I did. He then told me to check it and respond to it with the correct information (IT WAS ANOTHER SUPPORT TICKET EMAIL) so he basically took all that time to open up another ticket, when I had already done that. So I now have a total of three tickets open with Logitech. Then, after I asked twice how long it would take to get some form of response and a third time much more angrily, he told me 24-48 *business hours.* I have no clue how many hours a day their support is open, but if they work 8 hour days then 48 business hours would likely be 6 days? There's no way I'm waiting six days for a reply email, especially since it will probably tell me to wait while they decide if I can return it, then wait more for a return shipping label, and then probably at least a week or two for it to get there and them to send me a replacement? (And the replacement likely will have the same design flaw, too, so who knows if it will even work very long. I've read some where people got replacements that were dead on arrival.)

Other Thoughts: For those of you who will rate this down because it was so long or so hateful, please realize that I am a loyal Logitech customer of almost 15 years, and it is sad that I am treated with such disrespect. I have always stood by Logitech products, and always trusted the Logitech name and brand. But after this experience, I am very disappointed. If they expect me to be happy with waiting two weeks to replace an item I paid good money for, then they obviously don't know much about Customer Satisfaction.

The worst part is, if they refund me instead of replace the item (since it is at Logitech's discretion) I am out a racing wheel, as the money I get back won't even be close enough to buy one of Logitech's wheels now (plus, the newer wheels don't include the shifter, it's an additional $59.99 and the wheel and pedals like $399.99). So, hopefully they work with me and replace instead of refund, as I will truly miss this wheel if not.

I give the G27 three eggs. Mostly because, while my experience with Logitech's support and the company's ability to ignore flaws in products and never repair / recall them made my upset, the wheel itself is still pretty good overall. It's a ton of fun, and I'm going to hate playing OMSI 2 and Project CARS with my Xbox controller until I get a new wheel. It's just sad that Logitech are going to screw me over and treat me so poorly when I am a loyal customer, just like many others who were subjected to the same things. Go take a look at the Logitech support forums, and see how many people have stories about Logitech support, or not helping them out. Many of the threads never even get a response from anyone from Logitech, which is sad. Obviously for Logitech, nowadays it has become more about the money and profits than it is about customer satisfaction and protecting your company name and brand.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!

Pros: Force feedback feels very accurate... like actually feeling the road through the wheel (if the game has good FF support). The pedals feel incredibly sturdy, and feel fantastic, especially the resistance on the brake pedal. (I would love FF in the pedals, for example anti-lock brakes in games, but that isn't gonna knock down my opinion of this wheel) Lots of buttons that are easily assigned (so many that I often forget which button does what haha). 6 speed shifter with clutch, so much fun, and helped me master heel-toe without being a danger on the roads.

After several years of very hard use, it is not showing it's age other than the wheel motion becoming slightly noisy. I can be a hoonigan behind the wheel of a real car, and I treat this wheel like it is actually part of a car (basically I abuse it)

Cons: Shifter feels weak, but it isn't... I have been jamming it into gears for years, and it is holding its own. There could be more resistance, and a 'click' going into gear (like a real shifter matching syncros) but these issues are not enough to drop an egg.

Oh yea, and absolute mess with cords... probably should have daisychained it instead of having the wheel be the hub...

Other Thoughts: Learning curve when going from gamepad to this wheel might be steep (especially if you go clutch and shifter instead of auto, or paddles), but it is completely worth it. You will get exponentially more enjoyment out of this gaming wheel than you would out of any gamepad, or lesser wheels.

1 out of 5 eggsLogitech hates me

Pros: Stays attached to desk and easily removable.
Force feedback feels great(could be stronger but great)
Lots of support from most games.
Feels quality.

Cons: Cost me hundreds in parts replacements diagnosing problems.

After fighting with my PC on a hard reset problem in only a handful of games. I bought a new Mobo, a new PSU, and then realized it seemingly only happened in certain driving games. I removed the wheel and played for 2 hours without an issue. I plugged it back in and within 5 minutes hard reset, tried different USB ports, same outcome. It's shorting for some reason.

Other Thoughts: After a 3 month long ticket to replace a faulty $20 keyboard, then my gaming mouse that was only a couple of months old endlessly clicking and having a terrible time getting it replaced(I never did), and now this....I will NOT be buying another Logitech product. I will not even attempt getting this replaced, because I know the headache it will be and then I will also have to pay the shipping for the entire unit. Final Straw, by far.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Wheel

Pros: Great wheel, the Force Feedback fells good.

It's not as noisy as I was expecting.

My desk is nearly 2 inches thick and it mounts fine.

Lots of buttons in an easy to use layout.

Pedals feel great, the accelerator is easy, the brake is stiff, and clutch is somewhere in between. Great attention to detail.

I love the stainless steel, gives it a good weight and makes the wheel, paddles, and pedals feel substantial.

The pedal base has a retractable catch for carpets, it works amazingly and they haven't budged. Guitar Hero drum pedals had me worried about this.

Cons: The front of the wheel's base looks like a mustang, I'm more of a Chevy guy.

I wish there was a horn button in the center.

The shifter diagram doesn't match up with actual use, pet peeve haha.

Other Thoughts: The reason, and only reason this wheel got 3 stars instead of 5 is because of Logitech Support. I have had problems with multiple peripherals over the past 4-5 months and the support with every one of them has been terrible. If I thought any other wheel in this price range would measure up, I would have chosen a different company. Hopefully it never needs an RMA.

In case Logitech replies to this, it's a facade, don't buy whatever they say. I have had 2 keyboards go out, and now a mouse. 3 different cases, 3 different agents, and every single time it was long periods of waiting on generic replies where it's obvious they didn't even read what I was saying. This happens multiple times until you reply enough they finally read it. The first keyboard was a cheap $25 keyboard. It took them 3 months to replace it, after a LOT of headache over such a low sum of money.

My current case is my gaming mouse, it still isn't resolved with just over a month worth of time since the ticket was made. It randomly clicks itself hundreds of times with no one near it. They are trying their best to blame it on me, but It's less than 3 months old and lightly used thanks to my job. I still have the box it came in. This wheel was the last Logitech purchase I will make. If customer service is important to you, I'd avoid Logitech products.

1 out of 5 eggswhat a waste

Pros: Good feel from the wheel

Cons: Mine (like many others it seems) has an issue out of the box where an internal servo sensor is loose/broken. causing the wheel to loose it center. it worsens with every turn and can only be fixed by taking it all apart and tightening some stuff up. i paid 250 for something i have to fix. in mt honest Opinion dont waste your money unless your ok with having to fix it.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the Best

Pros: Pretty much baseline for a steering wheel. It's got your force feedback, H-shifter w/ a 6-speed, clutch, brake, accelerator. As well as having different spring adjustments in each pedal to provide realistic driving simulation.

Cons: The tightening knobs.
They're pretty good, but they can easily pop up and make you jump when you're racing and mess you up, but they never really "untighten". They only pop up after you turn the steering wheel and the knobs weren't pushed down far or hard enough.

Other Thoughts: Overall, amazing wheel for the price, got mine for $240, but the wheel has been on sale for $200 before. If you're tight on a budget try and wait for the $200 sale. I wouldn't really recommend buying this wheel off of places where you can get a used one for $100, you might get ripped off, plus, this wheel is for sure worth the $200.

The wheel might be a little small, I'm pretty tall and have big hands but I easily got used to the wheel. If you don't mind giving up your paddle shifters and 6 on-wheel buttons, there are plenty of aftermarket wheels that go up to 350mm on other websites.
