Use my HTPC to Skype, and my cam window looks great. Great light control and clear focusing, and the sound seems to be great as well. This is massively better than most laptop cameras. Now I just need to get everyone I skype with one of these so I can enjoy it fully. Great value, especially when it was a shell-shocker, but even regular price is still a good value for this level of performance. Cons: Not a con, but the few family members that I Skype with still use horrible low-res cameras. So they love my new camera, but I still have to deal with their bad ones. I need to buy this for them now, lol. Other Thoughts: I would pay up to $45 for this camera, but got it on a shell-shocker for $30 Did you find this review helpful? Cons: The Right light setting kinda lags the video but you can turn it off in the advanced options. Not really much of a con but just a personal preference. As easy as plugged it in, installed the drivers, and started using it. mic can pick up my voice from 10 feet away no problem Comes with some software - A motion detection program - A video/picture caption program I primarily purchased this to do video conferencing with my co workers and clients, but also use it to record my pets during the day. Has a number of useful settings for zooming in or following my face while on a call. Cons: Motion capture software had some issues with my computer and would randomly crash during the day (sometimes after only 10 minutes) while other days it would be fine. I was saving files over the network, so this may have been my own fault. Now I use the free and open source iSpy software. Works like a charm. Windows 7 x64 16GB Ram Other Thoughts: If you just need an inexpensive, good quality camera, then this is what you want.
