Logitech Marathon Mouse M705

A wireless laser mouse that lets you power on with a three-year battery life and a tiny, leave-in receiver.

The Logitech M705 Marathon wireless laser mouse lets you browse documents and web pages faster, switch between programs more easily and power on longer - with a three-year battery life. The tiny, plug-and-stay unifying receiver means you are always ready to play instantly.

Logitech Mouse

Click and Go for Years without Battery Changes

For you, having a wireless mouse is all about convenience. You want to check email, click through web pages and scroll through spreadsheets anywhere you like — without wire clutter or a second thought. The only problem you may encounter is your mouse is a bit power hungry, causing you to change batteries more often than you expected. That's where Logitech's new Marathon Mouse M705 can simplify your mobile life.

Logitech Mouse

Power on with Up to Three Years of Battery Life

Say goodbye to the hassle, expense and waste of frequent battery changes. Your new mouse uses less than half the battery power of comparable wireless mice. It's so energy efficient, you won't even have to think about replacing the batteries for years. And since you'll be using and disposing fewer batteries, you'll be doing a good thing for the planet, too.

Logitech Mouse

Take Comfortable Control

The first time your hand rests on the Marathon Mouse M705, you'll know there's more going on here than a simple point and click. The compact, sculpted shape guides your hand naturally into place, giving you effortless mouse control that's oh-so comfortable wherever you go. Plus, three integrated thumb buttons are right where you need them to move more quickly between web pages and applications.

Logitech Mouse

Logitech® Unifying Receiver and Laser Tracking

The tiny wireless receiver stays in your notebook, so there's no need to unplug it when you move around. Plus you can easily add a compatible keyboard or mouse. Laser precision means you'll enjoy smoother tracking on just about any surface.*

*The laser sensor does not work on glass or mirrors.

Logitech Mouse

Scroll There at Hyper-Speed

You set the pace. A single spin of the scroll wheel helps you fly through long documents, presentations and web pages to find what you need in a flash. Or you can to shift to click-by-click mode for precise line-by-line navigation of lists, slides or images.

Logitech Mouse

Sculpted, Right-Hand Design with Additional Buttons

The sculpted, right-hand shape guides your hand to a naturally poised position and places customizable control within your reach. You'll save time with the app-switching button and Forward/Backward buttons.

2 out of 5 eggsMiddle mouse button is horrible

Pros: + Long distance - 15+ feet to the couch with no loss of control
+ Works well on most surfaces (haven't tried glass)
+ Accurate (doesn't jump all over the place)

Cons: - Middle mouse but is horrible - barely registers
- Laser position is on far edge of the mouse, making it sometimes not act as I would expect. (Not a huge problem)

Other Thoughts: I use middle mouse button almost as much as left mouse for many of the applications that I run. I am now having to click it 2-4 times before it registers even once. For gaming, I can't even use it as it is completely unreliable. VERY annoying.

So, if you never use the middle mouse button, I'd recommend this mouse.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: nice feel
3 side buttons
nice scroll wheel

Cons: non so far

Other Thoughts: a very solid mouse, fit well with my hand. I changed the forward and backward buttons to volume control and it makes my life so much easier.

2 out of 5 eggsM705 Mouse

Pros: Fairly comfortable to use, nice features (if you are able to use the Logitech software.)

Cons: Has a mind of its own when scrolling. You scroll to where you want to go and it invariably bounces back up, and sometimes just keeps going. Finally uninstalled the setpoint software, and changed it from smooth to click scrolling, and got control of the mouse. Now it doesn't seem to be a haunted mouse anymore, but I've lost the functionality that comes with the setpoint software. Really disappointed in this mouse, especially for the price. My $5 mouse I bought for my laptop from BigLots worked right out of the box, and has all the features of this mouse (since I'm not able to use the additional software.)

Other Thoughts: In the $40-$60 price point there are many better mice out there. Wouldn't recommend this mouse for anyone, unless you really want to annoy them. Long term reliability is a problem according to a Google search seems the left mouse button dies a quick death on many of them. (I should have done this search before purchasing this mouse, but relied on Logitech's reputation.) Next time I'll look at another manufacturer when I shop for mice.

3 out of 5 eggsM705 review

Pros: Big enough for average hands; super comfy shape and finish. Haven't been through the first set of batteries.

Cons: Choppy connection, seems to get a lot of interference in my environment, which is not insanely crowded...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse!

Pros: Fits comfortably in my hand, good wireless range, battery hasn't run out yet, smooth scrolling works like magic, and lots of buttons!

Cons: The side application switcher button is rather mushy, so occasionally, it's hard to tell if the button has been activated. All the other mouse buttons work wonderfully!

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: -Nice feel
-Roll balls functionality

Cons: Over on the Logitech K270 Black 8 function keyboard page I wrote a review that covers a lot of what I am about to say since I bought both this and that keyboard together.

I bought these two items strictly for my living room couch and TV setup where my computer is connected to my TV. I thought it would be incredibly tacky to have wires and felt it would be nice for the overall flow/vibe of my home to be able to sit back on the couch using my wireless devices. WRONG.

The connectivity issues over the past 4+ months have finally driven me to write a review on these devices. I am only 7 to 8.5 feet away at any given moment (measured), and the mouse is constantly losing its connection. I have to shift the mouse to specific positions just for the computer to recognize it. I have done hours of research and tried plenty of techniques to enhance the connectivity but to no avail. If anyone thinks that I might not have set up the devices correctly or that they are too far from the receiver feel free to ask for a picture, because I have no problem illustrating how close they truly are.

The one thing that really irritates me the most (said in other review as well), is that in 2005 I had purchased a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard combo that was absolutely perfect. I could be 50 feet away and between walls at any given time, and the devices would function. I know this because I tested multiple music buttons such as play, stop, pause, next, previous, volume up, and volume down. As for that mouse I had a friend sit in my room staring at my computer while I tested it about 40 feet away and the pointer was moving perfect.

Thank you for letting me vent out my frustration. I am sure these two devices are great right next to your computer. Just be careful using them in a living room setup.

5 out of 5 eggsYou can't go wrong.

Pros: What a great mouse. You can't go wrong with this price. its extremely comfortable and easy to use. the scroll lock is nice too.

Cons: None yet, I take this mouse with me on the weekend, and it doesn't give me any problems.

Other Thoughts: overall its a great mouse, I don't use the side buttons, but there are there and do work. it glides over my house pad.

2 out of 5 eggsLasted a little over a month.

Pros: Comfortable and Easy to handle

Cons: Will not operate on most surfaces, its actually even very picky about the mouse pad you use with it.

Other Thoughts: While working on my computer this afternoon (7/25/2014) it suddenly stopped working. So I tried swapping the battery. I still did not work. I tried swapping the usb port. Still not working. I checked Logitech's support site, it recommended running their "Unity" tool. That did not work either. So I called their tech support department. I went through all the steps with the agent, who after all that disconnected my call while putting me on hold.

So I called back. Went through all the same verification again, and part of the trouble shooting. To be told my mouse was defective. He said I needed to send them a copy of a receipt in order to get the mouse replaced, in order to prove I have this mouse. I told him I was away from home when I purchased the mouse, and did not have the receipt. He said I had to take a picture of the mouse and Email it to them. I informed them I did not have a camera, as the camera on my phone was not working. I was asked to "Go to doors and ask my neighbors".

I told them I would not do that, and to ask such is ridiculous. I was to its policy to ask that of a customer.

I drove to the store, walked in, picked out this mouse, waited in line, payed $35 for it. I have earned the right, and done my part as a customer to have a WORKING mouse.

I read all the numbers off the mouse to them and they all matched up correctly. Do they think I just made those numbers up, and miraculously they matched? There is proof I own the mouse right there.

It seems Logitech would rather have their customers jump though hoops, and make it as difficult as possible to replace a product that has been paid for, and they should stand by.

5 out of 5 eggsVery well made Mouse

Pros: The mouse wheel has 2 functions, one that has a click as you spin the wheel the other allows for very smooth scrolling. This mouse uses Logitech's unifying connection, so I was able to use my existing USB dongle to connect it to my computer. Weight is on par for a quality mouse. Range is excellent, works over 20 ft away. Logitech software allows you to re-task all of the buttons. So far this mouse has been able to handle some serious abuse. It has been dropped, liquid spills, left in the rain... Still works like new.

Cons: 6th button is not a great location, i have a firm grip and tend to accidentally press this button on occasion. Main buttons are not silent. Isn't reshape-able.. (wouldn't that be an awesome feature, to custom shape the mouse for your own hand.)

Other Thoughts: Solid mouse, very well built. I will pay good money for a good product. This mouse fits the bill. I am not one to hand out 5 stars easily. I am horribly picky when it comes to computer equipment. I own a computer store, and my stuff has to be the best. I would recommend this mouse so anyone looking for a premium mouse. Everyone I have sold one of these to has absolutely loved it and the scroll wheel...
