1 out of 5 eggsGood mouse, bad everything else

Pros: Great battery life

Cons: Wheel never locks, making opening new tabs very difficult
Right mouse button unlocks it's self making playing MMOs very difficult
Low range, can't be too far from USB

Other Thoughts: If you like using tabbed browsing or playing MMOs this is NOT the mouse for you. If you are a fan of the old 90s mice without scroll wheels then this is a mouse for you.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Contrary to some other reviews here, I don't think the middle scroll is loose. It's part of the design and makes scrolling down a page super smooth, which is one of my best experiences of this mouse.

Cons: I think it travels a bit fast. But when adjust that thru control panel, one degree down is too slow. So I'm stuck with this slightly fast mouse movement.

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints, works great

Pros: Comfortable, easily programmable, you can turn it off if you want, looks nice, feels solid and well built.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I use this on my desktop with the Unifying Receiver plugged in on a front facing USB port I don't use. Started working seconds after I plugged it in and auto downloaded everything I needed (Win7).
I've read some reviews that stated the scroll wheel just freely spun and they didn't like it because there was no feedback. I sure hope they entered their tech knowledge as "low" when filling out there review (is there a "none" button?).
All you have to do is press the toggle button on top and it switches to the standard style ratcheting feel as you scroll.
Common people, really?

2 out of 5 eggsNot good for gaming

Pros: Long battery life, reliable, back/forward buttons, good wireless range.

Cons: Low sensitivity, tracking feels off, loose scroll wheel

Other Thoughts: I use this from my couch, PC is hooked up to a TV. It does a good job at basic tasks, the 10ft wireless range I get from that tiny receiver is impressive, I've owned this mouse for over a year and it's still on the original batteries. It's a pretty solid mouse, the reason I gave it 2 eggs is because it is worthless for gaming, the laser is way off to the side so it just doesn't feel right, when I was using an MX518 all it took was a small twitch of the wrist to do a 180 and shoot some guy in the face, this thing just feels clunky. I also hate the scroll wheel, it is loose and seems to scroll a couple more lines after I let go of it, scrolling seems to be either the whole page or hardly anything, after tweaking the settings and installing a plugin for chrome it is usable but still not very good.

1 out of 5 eggsLoose wheel

Pros: The rest of the buttons work.

Cons: The wheel feels loose: There's no friction and I can wiggle and slide it side to side. I'm afraid it might break with a little use.

Other Thoughts: Buy a better mouse. It's hard to tell how cheaply made stuff is when buying online.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse

Pros: Comfortable
Batteries last forever
wireless
great accuracy
love the variable scroll wheel
extra button always help

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Got this as a present, so far its the best mouse I have ever had, its batteries last forever, the wheight is nice, the sensor is very accurate, sturdy (due to me dropping it every now and then). I highly recommend this mouse.

2 out of 5 eggscrippling design flaw

Pros: feels nice in the hand.
decent button setup.
uses unifying receiver system.
really want to like it, except...

Cons: RIDICULOUS design flaw that makes it unusable: the optical sensor is located on the far left (if you look at the mouse from the bottom). It should have been near the right, or more towards the "center of mass". This may not sound like a problem, until you try to use it, and realize you have to entirely re-train your hand - because you have to move the entire mouse, not just the "center of mass" like you're used to doing.

Extremely disappointed with Logitech for screwing this up especially on a mouse in their mid-range line. This is an absurd design oversight that shouldn't have made it past the first 5 minutes of usability testing.

Other Thoughts: Put your $40 towards a better mouse which isn't designed by an intern.

2 out of 5 eggsAll great, except the scroll wheel!

Pros: -Great size, feel in hand.
-Easy to configure in Set Point software.
-Thumb button for "Application-switching" is another great button to customize.
-More buttons to customize than our previous mice.

Cons: -Scroll wheel is hyper-sensitive! If you were to pickup the mouse and tilt it up or down, your screen will scroll like you were playing Wii.
-Unable to use the middle button due to the scroll sensitivity.

Other Thoughts: I would especially not recommend this mouse to anyone utilizing 3D or CAD software. After testing 3 of them, they all act the same way. We cannot click and hold the middle-button for pan or rotate within our software. We have better luck setting the "thumb button" as a middle button, but that is a work-around and not a solution. Back to the M510!

3 out of 5 eggsreview

Pros: Amazing battery life
Wheel tilt is great
great range

Cons: Not very precise
The back button is in a very inconvenient place
It can't track on a lot of surfaces, and it can't track about half an inch off a surface.
It's VERY slow, this could be a software issue though
uncomfortable

Other Thoughts: Bought this mouse for my HTPC which means the mouse will sit several feet away from the computer. I love the battery life. Bought this back in May 2013, and as of December 2013 the battery has not been changed or even indicated that it needs to be. Even with constant use(12 hours a day or more).

The back button that is located next to the thumb rest is incredibly poor design, and has resulted in several accidental presses.
It won't track on any uneven surfaces what so ever, requires an absolutely flat surface. So if you accidentally tilt it off your desk you're going to be very disappointed.
It also feels extremely slow compared to my desktop mouse. It's actually very, very slow compared to it.

I won't recommend this to anyone, there are much better options out there for less than the cost of this one. The only possible reason to get this mouse is if you only have 1 AA battery for 20 years or whatever.
