3 out of 5 eggswas good for a while

Pros: I like the mute button, and microphone that moves up out of the way. It seemed like it worked good for a while with PC and PS3.

Cons: The headset hurts the upper part of my ears after wearing them for hours at a time. Red light to indicate muted microphone stopped working after maybe 8 months. Microphone stopped working after 10 months.

Other Thoughts: I owned the headset for about 10 months before the microphone just stopped working, but audio output still seems fine. I would like another headset like this but with better ear pads, maybe around ear. Would like a headset that outlasts its warrantee.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great headset. works with skype very well. Just know that this headset does not get recognized by some basic sound programs like realtek.

Cons: Not as comfortable as I would like to be. Sometimes after long use (~3hours) feel sore around the ear but that might just be because I have big ears.

1 out of 5 eggs... too bad

Pros: easy to install ...

Cons: Unusable for voip and recording - terrible 60 cycle hum from the microphone when connected to desktop computer running on 120 volts ac.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent range (not much bass, understandably) and options for music/game/telephone via slide switch on the back of the right ear. This is convenient for me because I work from home and like to listen to music while I work. I often teleconference via Skype, and it's handy to switch from the music setting to the telephone setting, which is a noticeable and effective adjustment in EQ. There's also an easy button on the right ear to mute the mic, with a 'HUD' style LED near the end of the microphone that you can easily see in your peripheral vision. This feature prevents those 'oops I forgot I was muted' situations.

I consider it's wired design a pro because I don't care to buy batteries for a wireless set, but that's a personal preference.

Call quality is great, a perfect VoIP headset.

Price point is decent.

Cons: Not the greatest music headphones, but it's a great headset for telecommunications. I think the quality in this set is mostly found in the microphone, the headphones don't feel particularly robust and I'd almost say cheap feeling. The ear pads aren't overly comfortable, and if I have these on for a few hours my ears will need a break. It's a get what you pay for type deal, but I think at $42 there could be some improvement in at least the comfort of use department. It's still a good deal at $42, just not a fantastic deal.

Other Thoughts: This will definitely get the job done, but saving up a little longer to pick up a higher end headset might be worth thinking about.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Clear sounds from the headset, and mic is also clear. its also pretty easy on the ears after a few hours of wearing it my ear didn't hurt at all

Cons: Mic can be a bit sensitive, friends over skype could hear keystrokes, if i turned it down to where they didn't, they could barely hear me.

3 out of 5 eggsWorse than cheaper logitech headsets

Pros: USB connection

Cons: - microphone can only be placed on the left side
- tinny audio
- microphone is below average (sounds over-modulated all the time regardless of volume settings)
- headset is uncomfortable after 1-2 hrs of use
- seems very fragile, will likely break

Other Thoughts: I've considered getting high end gaming headsets but based on reviews it just doesn't seem like anybody makes quality headsets. I guess I will have to go back to $15 headsets or step up to $100 headsets because any price in-between just seems like a waste of money.

5 out of 5 eggsExceeds expectations

Pros: Top Notch, good sound quality

Cons: I wish this headset permitted use of mic on left or right side...unfortuantely it does not. This is a small negative as the performance is good.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headset, even after 4 years

Pros: Great quality, great price. Very durable. Long USB cord. Convenient mute button (and the mic has a red led to let you know when you're muted). Volume on the headset itself. Noise cancellation works well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had this headset for what seems to me like 4-5 years now. Before that, I used to go through a headset about once every 6-months to year (with everyday use).

I'm not a fan of push to talk, so I would always set my mic up as voice activated and then just use the ear piece mute button when I wasn't talking.

I cannot stress enough that this is a great mic which I have had for at least 4 years. That paid off in spades. Now, in the 5th year, the cushions around the ear piece are starting to wear off. I'll probably buy this thing again, since it just always works :)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for Telecommuting and more!

Pros: I have owned the headset since around Christmas and it has been a great addition to my equipment for work as well as play. I do internet tech support from home and the calls over VPN are so clear! The mic is super sensitive. I keep my mic volume on 3-5% because higher and it will pick up on background noise. This sensitivity is good to me though because I can use the mic as a impromptu recording device for guitar and keyboard playing with a higher volume setting. :) I also play games, music and movies. The sound is quite nice with good range. If you want a headset in the 50.00 range and need USB this is the headset for you. There is no reason to buy a more expensive headset for USB.

The headset its self has proven both sturdy and comfortable. It has been used by both kids and adults. I have had more expensive headphones break with less abuse. I wear this headset 8-10 hours 5 days a week with no discomfort.

Final note, I'm out of room, see my other thoughts for a last bit on it.

Cons: There is only one thing I am not happy with on the headset. About a week after getting it the wire protection connecting to the usb plugin detached, leaving the cords exposed. I considered RMAing it but needed it for work and the sound was still incredible. I wrapped it in electrical tape but that did not keep it together. Even so after all these months the sound hasn't deteriorated and nothing else negative has happened. I knocked 1 egg because the exposed wiring could eventually pull out and with Logitech doing such a good job on everything else I don't see why there wasn't a sturdier connection there.

Other Thoughts: The wire protection is nice and thick. Cheaper headsets used to get emi interference in my room and this has the protection needed to block it out. Previous headsets have been so bad I had to wrap a soft faraday shield around cords before they were usable.

The mute has a red indicator light which is useful in call center work. I prefer my controls on the side of the headset for mute and this headset does that. There are also three settings, calls, games, and music with can be changed on the fly. I have found an audible difference in the sounds per setting so you can definitely see which setting works best for your app. Great flexibility!
