5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: reduced movement on hand and wrist

Cons: slight learning curve to use appropriate fingers in an ergo style to use this mouse correctly, found myself sometimes using my index finger to move the trackball, when it should be my thumb.

Other Thoughts: reduced stress on the hand and arm, very much enjoy this new mouse

2 out of 5 eggsawesome mouse with poor quality micro switches

Pros: I've been using Logitech trackball mouse for almost a decade. RF one has awesome battery life. It survived plenty of drops without damage. Smooth and accurate. Using it for gaming and daily PC browsing.

Cons: Poor quality microswitches. That is the only con but the major one.I've bought four of them (the RF one) and ALL ended up with same failure. Usually within 1 to 2 years. This is my last one. For $50 a piece this is not a cheap mouse and I expect it to last much longer than that.

P.S> I think my first one, wired version lasted much longer.

1 out of 5 eggsMade to fail

Pros: The old ones lasted forever. Great battery life, and fewer pains than using a mouse all day.

Cons: The newer ones come with softer little peg balls inside the housing, which as the balls wears down gums up the trackball. I used to have to replace my trackball about once per year over this, but since 2014 go through one $60 trackball every 3-4 months now.

Other Thoughts: These are simply becoming too expensive to use at the price tag. Logitech either needs to go back to longer-lasting internals or lower the price 75%. I'm switching brands as these are simply too expensive to run anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but twitchy

Pros: I've owned three of these mice over quite a span of years (since they came out with it I think) and I love it. I have big hands and it fits well and comfortably.

Cons: Unfortunately, the biggest problem with everyone of them so far is that Logitech uses cheap switches that fail after two to six months, especially the right one. If you buy this trackball, pick up a few D2FC-F-7N switches (they cost about $.99 each online) so you can replace them later. **Keep in mind that replacing the switch will void the warranty!!**

5 out of 5 eggsWhy use a mouse.

Pros: For the last 15 years, I keep asking (to anyone who will listen) why they would use a mouse that you have to pick up and move around, when with (this) trackball you only move your thumb. IT'S A NO BRAINER!
OK, it might take you a few days to get used to it, but it is all around faster for gaming and general use, and with the two extra buttons, that are customizable (I use mine for back and maximize/ minimize), everything is done with the touch of a fingertip or thumb.
And this trackball is the best of the best.
You owe it to yourself to at least try this trackball.

Cons: No so much a con, but mine seem to wear out about every 4 years, with heavy gaming and heavy common use, but these used to be around $65!

Other Thoughts: Battery life is outstanding, over a year with heavy use. And there is a battery monitor that will tell you how many days or how much % is left in the battery.
You can also customize the speed and accuracy of your pointer, and set gaming specs.

1 out of 5 eggsBad capacitors/double clicking

Pros: Great design, great concept, wireless is nice

Cons: poor construction. I've owned about 5 of these either purchased new or replaced under warranty. Each one has inevitably failed to operate properly in under 12 months or so (yes, before the first set of batteries even starts dying out). I always get the infamous double click issue where a single click results in a double click constantly. Google search it. The problem is rampant with these. It starts out as a nuisance and then gradually gets worse. It's usually blamed on the capacitors storing up energy or some such thing and the suggestion is to remove the batteries and repeatedly click the left button to drain them, but if this works, it only helps for a day or two. I eventually had to stop buying these because I couldn't deal with their short shelf-life anymore.

Other Thoughts: It's a shame there aren't more options to choose from where thumb-operated trackballs are concerned. They're my favorite type of input device and the best I can do is buy old used Microsoft Optical Trackballs, which tend to last and last for me. Logitech has no competition in this area. I wish some reputable company would step up and make a good contender. I'd put down serious money for a good trackball mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsLogitech M570 910-001799 Black 1 x Wheel USB RF Wireless Laser Trackball

Pros: Works great for someone with limited desktop space. Perfect for keeping hand and wrist in ergonomic position limiting the wear and tear on tendons.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I buy these since I have limited range in my right hand and wrist. These make it simple to do standard thigns with the computer while not leaving the wrist area sore after prolonged use. Highly recommend this mouse for those in similar condition or suffer from carpul tunnel syndrom

5 out of 5 eggsLove these

Pros: If you're looking for a thumb trackball peripheral, look no further. I absolutely love these and the AA battery lasts at least six months on gaming use. Not bad for a wireless.

Cons: I will have gone through two of these within a 5 year period. The first one lasted about 3 years before the rollers gave out and this current one double clicks periodically on left click. Because of gaming I can't have this happen, so I'm about to order another one.
