3 out of 5 eggslogitech going down hill

Pros: 5 buttons, good handle, really easy surf. newegg earn 5 stats and this product have 1.

Cons: bought 2 from local store, right click buttons all failed in 4 months like others mentioned here made them useless. i had a M505 failed in 1 year for just sometimes travel use.

Other Thoughts: i try to like logitech product but they looks no more take care of quality like before. so sad.

3 out of 5 eggsAfter further review - 3 years later

Pros: 5 buttons.
Has held up well to daily road-warrior use, except...

Cons: Left button has failed, admittedly after three years, but still.

Other Thoughts: I'm buying another one after three years because I like the design and I really need the 5 buttons now. I hope they've improved the switches they use - seems like they should last longer than three years.

2 out of 5 eggswould be great if it lasted > 1yr

Pros: -feels nice and heavy.
-uses longer lasting AA battery live vs. previous generation that used AAA.
-works on many surfaces.

Cons: -Cheap quality mouse buttons. Left mouse button begins to fail and double click on you unexpectedly to make the mouse useless. I've owned two so far and both have lasted < 1yr each.

Other Thoughts: I've been a longtime Logitech user; it's now time to look at a different vendor.

2 out of 5 eggsFailed after about 5 months

Pros: Very precise, works on many surfaces that other mouses fail on, and the mouse wheel has two settings, one of which makes it spin freely. Battery life seemed reasonable.

Cons: Failed after less than 6 months. Suddenly, the mouse started double-clicking, and it became useless to me.

Other Thoughts: This is the first bad mouse I've ever gotten from Logitech. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. My replacement is also a Logitech mouse, but a different model where the wheel won't spin. If it doesn't last, then it will be the last Logitech product I'll ever buy.

1 out of 5 eggsGoodbye Logitech

Pros: Works on glass surface.

Cons: This mouse eats batteries. Brand new Duracell batteries... drained in 6 weeks. It needs two AA batteries.

Even worse is Logitech reselling these at marked down price to their loyal customers. That is worse than putting out a bad product, and that is borderline swindling in my book. So, I'm saying GOODBYE to Logitech.

3 out of 5 eggsA great mouse with very limited wireless range

Pros: This is a great mouse. It works on any surface.

Cons: The wireless range is very limited. It works very reliably within three feet. A cord goes further, so budget for a USB extender cable to place the receiver next to your mousing real estate.

2 out of 5 eggsALMOST a Good Mouse

Pros: Nice size for a travel mouse - a little bigger than some, but the larger size works well with my hand. It has a nice feel.
Connects and stays connected to three different laptops.
Smooth function on laptop.

Cons: This mouse almost works just right.
I bought three of these mice, to use with laptops, and all three have problems with intermittent inoperative right click buttons. Each is about a year old, and this problem came up after around 3-4 months. Right click will eventually work, but it's annoying.
This mouse skips and lags on my desktop. I liked this mouse so much with my laptops that I bought one to use with my desktop. Big mistake! There is some incompatibility issue with the USB and the desktop. The mouse will work OK for awhile and then start skipping and/or lagging. Often, if I restart, the issue is gone for awhile but then returns.

Other Thoughts: This would be a nice travel mouse were it not for the right click issue (cheap switch, I'd guess). I simply had to retire the one I was using for the desktop and return to a wired USB mouse. I've usually had pretty good luck with Logitech mice, but this one is becoming a liability.

2 out of 5 eggsSignal doesn't like solid objects

Pros: Works on my glass top desk without needing to use a mousepad

Cons: My workstation and the place where I use my mouse are less than 3ft away from each other. The signal has to go through part of my computer case, my wood desk, and a 1/4" glass top. With this setup the signal was terrible! movements were jumping all over the place. I had to use a USB extension cable so that the USB receiver was on top of my desk with only 18" between it and my mouse. Once I did this it started working great! Another con is the mouse wheel. it should have a lock on it, or at least more friction to prevent free spinning.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I was sick of using a mousepad, and wanted the ability to use a mouse anywhere anytime. Probably a great mouse for laptops, but if you have stuff between the mouse and the receiver, you can forget about it. My old mouse had no issues I could use it from 10ft away with tons of stuff between my mouse and the computer. Logitech needs to increase the power of the transmitters on these things. This thing takes 2 x AAs. I don't need my batteries to last for a whole year, I just need this thing to work.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't bother

Pros: Comfortable for a relatively small/portable mouse. Satisfying scroll wheel (both stepped and smooth mode).

Cons: I've used three of these (two for work, one for home use), and all three have had the same problem: the wireless receiver looses its connection to the mouse, causing very choppy mousing, scrolling, and lost clicks. This makes the mouse unusable in general - buy this, experience the signal loss once, and you will forever live in fear that it will reoccur.

Other Thoughts: Logitech forums indicate that the problem can be caused by static charge buildup, and that removing the batteries and holding down all the mouse buttons for 20 seconds can fix this...temporarily. I tried this, as well as different USB ports, positioning of the mouse relative to the usb, etc. and the only thing that worked with relative consistency was placing the mouse no more than three inches away from the usb dongle (unbroken line of sight). Useless.
