4 out of 5 eggsYou can't kill this mouse!

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Long as all get-out life of the left, right, and center (wheel) clicks.

DPI switching on the fly

Great design.

Ambidextrous for those who use both hands or are south paws.

Cons: Polling rate is only 500 times per second (or 2 millisecond)
Half an egg for this

No Horizontal scroll via leaning left/right of the middle mouse wheel.
Half and egg for this.

Other Thoughts: This is one mouse that won't fail on you if you don't get a dud straight out of the box.... (logitech is that way, you get a good one, it'll stay good for years in my experience, as long as it isn't bad right out of the box and by that I mean within the first few days)

I've had mice since before the mice got neutered. One thing that has been a constant with Logitech mice is that you either fail within the first days or you keep em for the life of the product (which for me is always at LEAST a year... though usually for many years). The only problem I've had with Logitech optical/lazer mice are the 2 main mouse buttons (left and right)... those were the only things to ever fail on a Logitech mouse... period! (for me). And it is usually because I have a fairly heavy click right, middle, and left. So I wear through my mice a lot quicker than most do.

However, this mouse has lasted the longest of any lazer mouse I've ever had from Logitech. I usually end up with 20 bucks worth of plastic that won't even work as a paper weight... This time this one just keeps on clicking and clicking and clicking... even scrolls still. Logitech hit this one out of the ball-park. And it even has a few extra bells and whistles with the ability to instantly click through a few dip settings.

Polling rate is only 500... you need at least 1000 for your fps games these days if you want to keep up and not have your pc miss a click with rapid fire clicking....1/2 an egg removed for this... One cannot call yourself a "gaming mouse" and gear towards FPS players with a poll rate of 500.

This has no horizontal scrolling via left/right leaning of the scrolling wheel.. but if you click and drag it works, so 1/2 an egg for this. Very minor.

Yea... Outside of those, I would say this is a rock solid mouse, and if you don't play fps games of MMORPG/MMO games, you are going to be VERY pleased. This mouse just works, plain and simple... though it isn't just plain... it has dpi switching!

5 out of 5 eggsBasic Reliable Gaming Mouse

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Does what you need. Has a button to change DPI on the fly. The software that comes with the product allows different profiles for buttons to be made and saved for different games.

I had read some reviews saying that the mouse felt alittle light, I personally think it has a nice weight to it.

Also a ambidextrous mouse so righties or lefties can both use it. Good default choice for gamers looking for something basic but sturdy.

Buttons also have a anti-stick coating on it. My hands tend to get sweaty on long sessions so I'm hoping this will reduce that.

Cons: No Problems with it whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: I picked this mouse cause it was on sale and fairly cheap price wise. Definitely a good choice to go with since I know at some point any mouse will eventually break, I'd buy this again.

2 out of 5 eggsAmazing, Until It Broke

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: For nearly 2 years, this mouse has been the best mouse I have ever touched. It's very comfortable. The material on the outside has a quality feel and is pleasant to hold, and the shape of the mouse is perfect. The sensitivity can be set very high while remaining very accurate, just the way I like it. Moving the cursor across my 2560×1080 to the 1920×1080 display next to it is fast, accurate, and feels very smooth. The mouse uses the Logitech Gaming Software, and the interface is easy to use, has nice features, and the program stays out of my way when I'm not changing settings.

Some people are upset that it doesn't have more buttons, but I prefer it this way.

The 3 year warranty is very useful.

Cons: As I approach the 23rd month of ownership, the left button is beginning to fail. Around 5% of left clicks don't register. This was a little upsetting to discover, but it has a 3 year warranty, so I figure I can just call Logitech and replace it. I can. But they don't offer the G100s anymore. Instead I have to take a G300s. That's where I am at now.

It took an hour on the phone to get to this point. I explained the problem, I explained that I had tried the mouse with different computers and the left button still did not work, but Logitech insisted that I still try to reinstall the Logitech Gaming Software, so I did. After that they agreed to replace it.

The call itself was long and difficult. The person I spoke with had an accent, which I can work with; I speak with people who have accents all the time. But the call reception was terrible, it sounded like the person was using a cellphone and was in a tunnel. At the end of the call it was established that I would receive an email with instructions, and the instructions would include sending my G100s to Logitech and waiting for a replacement

At some point I plan to contact Logitech again and try to get someone I can better communicate with, and tell them how much I do not want to replace my G100s with a G300s. I really do not want a G300s. It does not have the simple minimalist design and great shape that the G100s has. If Logitech sends me the G300s I think I will sell it and get a different mouse.

Other Thoughts: I really like this mouse, but an unreliable broken left button is no good, and I don't want to replace the mouse with a different model.

2 out of 5 eggsGood at First

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Worked good the first few months, feels good to use.

Cons: After 4-5 months the left mouse button started requiring more pressure to use. I bought this to play games and im not able to play any due to having to press so hard the mouse creaks from the pressure. But the pressure issue isn't always there, it goes in and out randomly.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible mouse

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Cheap

Cons: The left mouse button ceased to work after 2 months, it randomly double clicks, misses clicks often, and when it does decide to click it is severely delayed.
I don't care if I'd recommend this mouse assuming it /did/ work, if /any/ of them have defects like this it is not worth buying at all.

Other Thoughts: I bought this from another vendor, so I'm not a verified owner but I do own the mouse and do not recommend it, nor do I recommend any of the G-series logitech mice.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Waste Your Money

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Software configurable.

Cons: It is known that the left mouse button on the G100s does not always register a click. Sometimes you have to click the button 4-5 times to get it to work. It is frustrating that Logitech's forums are full of complaints about the LMB issue but they refuse to acknowledge or offer a fix. I love Logitech products. I am typing on a G710+ gaming keyboard right now and it is the best keyboard I have ever owned. But this mouse is absolutely the worst mouse ever and not worthy of the Logitech brand.

2 out of 5 eggsInconsistent Mouse

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Inexpensive, comfortable, and Logitech mouse that serves its' purpose well and doesn't break your bank.

Cons: The mouse buttons require a firm touch and sometimes have delays, making FPS's like Counter-Strike a challenge to play, if you don't click firm enough your gun won't fire and if you click too firm your gun will burst, and I'm more of a fan of tap firing, or intentionally spraying when I'm prepared to and when it is appropriate-- this mouse doesn't allow for such a thing to happen.

All-in-all, not something I'd recommend if you need a mouse that can boast a gentle touch.

Other Thoughts: This mouse is rather unimpressive to me, it does what most cheaper mice can do but has a DPI setting, which is the only thing I can justify its' price tag for. It's quite inexpensive and I am happy for that fact, but I'd rather spend more unless you want a DPI setting for browsing webpages, or if you play more MOBA esque titles, things of that nature.

I'm a bit of a Logitech fanboy as their cheaper products are usually superb, but this mouse was a huge dissapointment, and I will be ordering a better one soon, hopefully one that will allow for better clicking.

I also bought this from Best Buy, but I felt moved to review here since I take reviews here with more respect.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent mouse, but Missed Clicks are a deal breaker.

This review is from: Logitech G100s 910-003533 Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 2500 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Solid Build Quality
Light weight
Cheap (I paid $19 for it at a Big Box store)

Cons: Only the three standard buttons
No way to open it up without taking off those glide pads
started to miss clicks after about 3 months of use.
