4 out of 5 eggsHard to beat, if you want to pay for it

Pros: I have several of these webcams setup in conference rooms on top of wall-mounted monitors for Skype, Webex, Google Hangouts, etc. The image quality is worlds better than the previous generations (910, 920). The 90-degree filed of view is great, even when covering a conference table from the side. For longer tables, the resolution is high enough to use the digital zoom with little loss of quality. The built-in h264 encoding does take a load off your CPU while still delivering smooth HD video with low powered CPUs and integrated video.

Audio is very good within 15 feet, but won't capture everyone at a long table. Not really the fault of the device, but I wish it had some kind of "long distance/quiet talker mode."

Cons: Previous versions of the camera shipped with software that let you pan/tilt/zoom/focus. This camera installs correctly if you just plug it in, but you have to download the little control app from the Logitech website.

Logitech webcams have a reputation for poor autofocus at longer range and this camera is no exception. Great within 10 feet, poor after that. I ended up turning off auto-focus and manually setting infinity focus. That worked significantly better for my rooms.

The MSRP for these is steep. If you can find it sub $100, jump on it. Otherwise, it's hard to justify the cost.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes NOT live stream at 30fps

Pros: Works smoothly with Google Hangouts and some versions of Skype. Looks nice.

Cons: On a PC, running Windows 7 with 16 gigs of memory and a 10 up, 10 down internet connection, this camera topped out at about 11FPS, no matter the software settings.

I was unsuccessful at streaming 1080p at 30FPS using Adobe Flash Media Encoder, Wirecast, or Open Broadcaster.

Logitech Support is non-existent for this product - The best they could do was tell me to 'look on Linux forums'... There are no driver or firmware updates scheduled.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this camera (again :/ ), unless you will only be using it casually via Skype or G+

Better to wait until Logitech either has the inclination to start supporting the product, or until the hacks to make it work properly are widespread...

It took Logitech 29 days to even respond to my various forum inquiries, ensuring that I've ended up with a rather expensive brick.

5 out of 5 eggsLogitech C930e Webcam

Pros: The C930e is a great web cam. I am very satisfied with the resolution it shows with objects close and in the distance. Everything is clear and crisp. If you move fast, the camera will show a slight blur but it doesn't pixel out like most others. The sound quality is good and is recorded in stereo. Another addition is that the camera puts the video processing within the camera. This free's up bandwidth for video streaming especially if your using microsoft Lync.

Cons: I haven't seen any cons as of yet. As compared to many other web cams this one blows them away. But I have read that it is better to use a dual core processing computer. If you use something less then there will be some video loss. I cannot confirm this.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line, this is a great web cam. It does come with a tripod screw hole and is a good plug and play item.
I do have USB 3.0 and the camera is rated for USB 2.0 and works fine in that port. I thought this camera would take advantage of that higher speed.
