Feature

Features
ON-CABLE CONTROLS
Keep the mute switch and volume dial close at hand for quick, precise audio adjustments. All attached to an extra long, x-meter cable.

DOLBY HEADPHONE 7.1 SURROUND SOUND
You can hear up to seven discrete channels of audio data plus the low-frequency effects (LFE) channel, known as 7.1 surround sound. Dolby Headphone technology perceptually positions each channel in the correct location to reproduce multi-channel content the way developers intended.

LAY-FLAT EARPIECES
We know even twin gamers are one-of-a-kind. For a personalized fit, the earpieces swivel up to 90 degrees. And because they can turn to lay flat, they're less prone to breakage from everyday wear and tear.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE CLOTH EAR CUPS
Marathon gaming sessions mean heat and sweat. We covered the G430 ear cups with carefully selected sports performance cloth for a comfortable, soft touch even after hours of use. And they slip off easily for washing to keep the headset in top shape.

LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN
The G430 earpieces have been designed to be slimmer and lighter, without skimping on audio quality. A lighter, balanced assembly means you stay focused on the game. You might even forget you're wearing a headset.

FOLDING, NOISE-CANCELLING MIC
When you want to be heard, you will be-loudly and clearly. The noise-cancelling mic can be adjusted to pick up your voice alone. Don't feel like talking? Easily fold it up and out of the way.

FULL-SPEED, ALL-DIGITAL USB
In-game sound isn't an effect. It's a critical component of game play. Our USB headphones surround you with aural information. The sound is crisp and clear, and the jack on your sound card stays open for desktop speakers.

2 out of 5 eggsThere are better ones Available

Pros: Fair sound(for 80 dollars), fairly flat response curve, great sound positioning with 7.1. great mids

Cons: Horribly uncomfortable can't wear for more than thirty minutes without high levels of discomfort on top of head and below ears. earpads are rough. heavy. Sound is somewhat hollow. less bass than i would like for a gaming headset. mic is only ok

Other Thoughts: I would recommend ax180 or hyperx cloud instead

1 out of 5 eggsCheap Quality parts

Pros: Sounds great when it works

Cons: Cheap quality plastic. Right ear piece snapped off just over a year after buying it.

Other Thoughts: Everything I buy from Logitech dies within 1-2 years, buy from another manufacturer.

5 out of 5 eggsLove them!

Pros: Mostly everything about them so far is great.

Cons: You do have to do some research to fix the overlay of the mic and hearing yourself in the headset and auto adjust that makes your mic volume go wonky if you have any kind of back round sound.

Other Thoughts: To fix hearing yourself in the headset go to your play back devices - go to the properties on your head set then go to levels and turn the mic sound down to 0 problem fixed!
To fix the back round cancellation of the mic so you come out 'normal' on chat programs
in sounds go to 'recording' go to the properties or your mic and go to Advanced from there change the channel to 1 channel,16 bit, 48000 Hz (DvD Quality)

Hope this fixes these problems for anyone else who is having them

2 out of 5 eggsheadset is highly overrated

Pros: extremely comfortable for hours of gaming.

Cons: overpriced, bad sound quality, delicate

Other Thoughts: this headset is extremely overrated. i actually bought it from best buy as it was on sale and i could get it right when i wanted it that way. it has dolby 7.1 surround sound software. and the 7.1 is a joke. of course the display one at best buy sounds great, but the retail version is garbage. not only can you barely tell where sounds are coming from, but the sound quality with music is the worst ive ever heard for anything ive ever put on my ears. it cant handle bass at all. i will say, i have worn this headset for hours upon hours and not only does it never begin to hurt, it doesnt make me sweat at all. if this werent the case id return this in a heartbeat.

1 out of 5 eggsterrible audio volume, can hear self through mic!

Pros: NONE

Cons: where to begin. lets start with this feature called mic monitoring. no matter which connection i used (USB or analog) i could ALWAYS hear myself in the headset.

what moron thought that was a good idea???

im so glad i got them on sale so i can return these pieces of cr @p. extremely disappointed with logitech. who would ever think mic monitoring is a good thing with GAMING? i want to hear my TEAM MATES, NOT MYSELF.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat if you grab it on sale.

Pros: The sound quality is pretty great, although maybe not for an audiophile. The headset is fairly comfortable with all its padding and what not. The 7.1 works excellent in my games, I can hear footsteps a mile away. The mic quality is solid, everyone in ventrilo and mumble say I sound perfect. I like how you can use the USB adapter for surround sound, or you can use the old fashioned analog cables for regular stereo sound. Overall I like these headphones a lot.

Cons: With the USB adapter, the sound can be a little too quiet when listening to music. Of course you can fix this by simply not using the USB adapter, but you'll lose your surround sound abilities. It's also a little annoying having to open up the program each time to adjust whether or whether not it's in surround sound mode. There also seems to be a break in period before they become completely comfortable and accustomed to your ear. For these small issues Logitech loses one star

Other Thoughts: I got these for $39.99 on sale. I'd definitely recommend them if you can find them for a low price like that. Otherwise, if you have to pay full price, maybe you should step up the G35's just because they have extra buttons on them, although in my experience the sound quality is nearly identical between them. Overall, highly recommended, especially if you can grab them when they're on sale.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: I love the padded cloth around the ears. Makes for very comfortable wearing. The microphone is a surprisingly great quality. I recorded some audio samples and played them back and it doesn't even sound like someone speaking into a microphone. Sounds like they are right next to you!

Cons: none, not even the price. you certainly get what you pay for

3 out of 5 eggsVirtual 7.1 surround, not real 7.1

Pros: The sound is great out of the headphones. The ear pieces fit comfortably over the ears. The headset is light weight. The cord and volume control do not get in the way and pull on the head set.

Cons: I bought these to replace a Rosewill RHTS-8206 Connector 5.1. The Rosewill headset actually had separate speakers in the ear pieces to create 5.1 sound. The Logitech headset only has 1 speaker per ear. The 7.1 surround sound is simulated by a driver.

I am running Linux, so I cannot run the drivers to judge how well the virtual 7.1 surround sound works.

4 out of 5 eggs...

Pros: virtual surround, it actually works. gives me life to games.
has a usb adapter, very important to me, that's not a con.
with it connected you get the dolby virtual surround sound.
disconnect it and you can use your own sound card, on board audio, phone.

Cons: they're uncomfortable, I have an average size head and ears.

the cloth is cheap material.

my 5 year old sony over the ear, wireless phones are more comfortable.

1 out of 5 eggsnot as expected

Pros: great sound quality, the software for Dolby Surround installs easily and gives the impression of surround sound. Fit is nice, really lightweight for extended game play comfort.

Cons: Bought to replace broken Turtle Beach set, but the Logitech has poor mic quality, other people on TS said I sounded like I was in hanger, and a lack of separate "on cable" volume control for chat and game sounds, so when the the game heats up, you can't hear the chat. Have to alt+tab out of game to sound mixer and adjust volume, was enough for me to return these and fix my broken set.
