5 out of 5 eggsWonderful headset for a fantastic price!

Pros: - Comfortable
- Resilient
- Sound quality is awesome
- Microphone quality is excelent

Cons: - Cord length can be annoying

Other Thoughts: I have had this headset for over a year and have dropped it many times, I have driven over the cord many times and still this thing works like it was fresh out of the box. There are maybe 3 barely visible scratches. If you are looking for a headset for casual/gaming purposes this one is a 10/10 buy. They could charge 100$ for this and I would still say 100% buy. The only thing is the cord length is kind of annoying because i sit close to my plug but thats easily fixed with a few zip ties.

4 out of 5 eggsLogitech G430 VS Kraken 7.1 SS USB

Pros: - Comfortable when you adjust it to the right spot to your head. The Kraken was....sorta comfortable, but after 3-4 hours it would start to hurt the top of your head, but this can be solemnly based on your overall head anatomy.

- Blue colored (Just a Pro because it matches my Desktop hardware! :D)

- Sounds very good for the price you're getting, The bass on these kicks way more than the 100 dollar Kraken 7.1 SS USB.

- They aren't increasingly loud!! The problem I had with the Krakens was that they were way to loud and there was no option to fix it with Krakens software unless you turned down the system sound or in game sounds, but that becomes a hustle real quick.

- I find that the Mic quality on these sounds slightly more clearer than the Krakens.

- Logitechs Gaming Software has more custom features to the headset than the Krakens do. Which is why I found the Krakens software a bit pointless as the default settings were the best to begin with.

Cons: - Feels a little cheap, whereas the Kraken is much more sturdier in both bulk and shape. For that I'm gonna have to knock the egg. Quality is very important otherwise you're always going to be going through headsets

- The products boxing isn't as eye appealing as the Krakens, I've never been so impressed by the boxing of products as I have with Razers, it's very fancy.

Other Thoughts: I bought this headset, because My Krakens broke. The cord wrapped around my leg and while I chased after my cat I ripped it from the USB port and the USB part of the cord ripped out, smart right? Not only that, but my car chewed on the mic part, so it was cutting in and out at times over skype.

Overall I highly recommend these and save yourself 40 dollars. The bass on these are far more superior than the Krakens, the Mic quality is slightly better, there's more features to mess with on Logitechs software than the Krakens, and they aren't going to blow your ears off.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset

Pros: - Great sound quality
- Good design (both visually and functionally)
- Made by Logitech
- best when used without USB adapter (this is a pro for me because my keyboard provides quicker access to the jacks than the fron of my PC)

Cons: The USB adapter is ok at best. it will cause your voice to play through the headset at a slight lag and can make you stumble on your words. this could be a pro for some but for me its the only reason this looses an egg.

Other Thoughts: I owned the G930 prior to this headset and it stands up in all aspects minus the cordless benefits of the G930.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT headset for the price

Pros: Look good, sturdy rubber microphone boom, USB>audio-in/out adapter, tough braided cable for strenuous wear and tear, 4/5 audio quality (good for the price though), comfortable, volume switch has a clip on the backing so you can clip to your shirt or whatever

Cons: Bulky, LONG cable, moderately hard-to-clean cushioning, somewhat heavy

Other Thoughts: I've used these for almost everything I possibly could. Used for when I went on long runs, and even took them to Basic Training with me. Sold them and bought another slightly more expensive headset, and still regret it. One of the best headsets I have ever owned. Suggest

4 out of 5 eggsReally good headset!

Pros: - Feels comfortable on your head thanks to the cushion on the headband

- Feels very sturdy

- Ear cushions are removable and easy to clean

- Audio quality is very good

- Compatible (Logitech) software is phenomenal! Easy to use and great customizable options for treble and bass (also is compatible with certain other Logitech devices).

- One thing to note is that the settings you have for the software (for example using the software to increase bass) will only make the change if it's running in the background.

- Comes with a soundcard that you can plug the headset into (don't have to use it for it to work it's just for surround sound and software detection) that goes into your computer via usb.

- The microphone is flexible

- Ears of headset are rotatable by 45 degrees to you can comfortably rest the headset on your neck.

- Don't know the exact measurement but the cord is very long, might be a con for some but if you need some distance away from your computer this is good for you (I also hear that this headset works for consoles but I haven't tested this out personally).

- I've had no kinks in the cable since I got the headset, very easy to get rid of tangles

Cons: - The surround sound isn't good, if you use it often you'll notice that some things are out of place so I usually keep it off.

- I keep the mic muted (there's a switch on the cable to do this), reason being is that the audio that goes through your mic goes through the headset yes this is by design. My voice isn't very loud so keeping it up gives me no issue but just keep what I mentioned in mind.

Other Thoughts: The pros far outweigh the cons, if it weren't for the minor annoyances I'd give it a 5/5.

1 out of 5 eggsLogitech G430

Pros: Feel good, sound ok with stereo mode

Cons: Popping and crackling when it surround sound mode. Doesn't work properly with any voice comms in surround sound. Basically it's an expensive set of stereo headphones, surround sound is completely useless

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headset, beware of refurbished.

Pros: I got this headset for 39.99$ on sale which was great value considering it goes for around 70$ new.

I love the feel, it is sturdy but heavy so make sure you don't drop it. It has a metal band which reassures quality. It fits tight over your head (but loosens within a week or two). The pads are very comfortable. The earpads are pretty big and fit over my entire ear for great noise cancellation and superb surround sound and quality. Great bass and treble (adjustable). The USB adapter is easy to use and the software easy to install, not sure how you could have any problems with it...

Cons: The mic on my last G430 which was brand new did sound a little better and picked up sound better. But this one is still good regardless.

Heavy, so don't drop it because you are more likely to break it.

First one came DOA which really aggravated me and had to waste almost 2 weeks with doing an RMA for another one.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat headset

Pros: Sound great (with the right software), comfortable, amazing price

Cons: The Logitech surround software is really bad. Tried it plug and play first (with the USB connector that comes with it), they worked but the sound levels were really low no matter how high I pumped the volume up. I found Logitech's Gaming Software on their website to see if I could mess around with the EQ, gain, preamp, etc. The software has some options for the EQ, and even has a slider for "preamp" but doesn't let you adjust it. So I worked with what I had and tried a few games out. The sound was ok (which I was willing to settle for with a headset as well priced as these were), the surround effects came through nicely, but there was no fullness to the sound, and anything bass heavy in the game came out hugely distorted. Tried the crossover function in Windows to no effect, the only thing that solved it was turning the bass down as far as it would go, but then what is the point of having over-ear headphones if you can't get full range out of them...

Other Thoughts: So I finally decided to ditch the USB adapter and the Logitech software all together, and use the headphone and mic jacks on the front of my case. I have a discrete sound card, so why not. Set it up for 8 speakers, high impedance, adjusted the EQ to full bass and treble just to see if it was the headphones themselves. They sounded GREAT. Tried several different games, and a couple BluRays to test them out, A+ man. Nice deep, clean lows, relatively clean highs, and the surround effects sound great. So.... great headphones, but Logitech really needs to do something about that software, it is REALLY bad. I'm not sure how a motherboard's on-board audio would work, I guess it depends on the quality, but it honestly can't be worse than the Logitech Gaming Software. My ASUS Xonar DGX did the trick though (I will refrain from singing its praises too much seeing as this isn't a review for my soundcard lol, but it is worth the $40)

If you have some means other than the Logitech supplied software to reproduce your audio, get these headphones, you really can't beat the price on them. If you are relying on Logitech, skip it, you will not like the results.

I docked an egg because of the software, though I'm probably being a bit lenient... but the headphones really do sound great
