Best mouse I've used yet
- Pros: I don't know where to begin with this mouse, everything about it is great. The clicks are smooth, forward/back buttons are positioned perfectly so that you wont accidentally click them but at the same time you don't have to adjust your hand to reach them. You can customize the dpi settings, so you're not just stuck with 200-800-2000(200-400-800-1000-1600-2000). You can set each of the three buttons to any of those numbers. The box it comes with has 2 other sets of pads and four weights(1x 5gram and 3x 10gram) and the mouse has room for three of the weights. There is a simple lock on the weight tray so it will not slide out.
The shape is a good quality too, it fits my hand perfectly.
There are some settings in the software that gamers will find very useful like the precision booster. You can set it to any button and when you hold it down your mouse sensitivity will set to a percentage of what it's currently at, and you set the percentage. That's just one of the things I really li
- Cons: No cons at all.
- Other Thoughts: I read some of the other reviews and a few people mentioned that the scroll wheel is metal and hard to scroll at times, this is not the case. I think they were writing a review for one of the other models of this mouse because the one I have feels more like plastic and there is a small tread-type groove in it so it will grip your finger. The tread is not uncomfortable at all and it's hardly noticeable when you're in game and you use the wheel.
There is a macro button on the mouse but I haven't gotten to using it yet, haven't had any real need to and from what I understand it's simple. Press it, press what you want done, then press the macro button again to set it.
This mouse is well worth the money I spent on it and I recommend it to anybody who spends most of their time spent on a computer in games.
Decent at best
- Pros: Nice and big, perfect if you have big hands. Added weights are great if you like your mouse weighed. Left and right mouse buttons I found to be perfect in terms of pressure needed to click them, not loose like some others I have had. The ability to map buttons with the software provided is very good as well. Also the ability to map the same buttons to do different things PER PROGRAM is even better.
- Cons: Firstly the scroll wheel is metal. At first this did not make me think anything of it but I must say it is a pain to scroll efficiently when your finger doesn't grip the wheel. I had to turn off the scroll wheel click function just so I could depress the wheel to get it to scroll up. Scrolling down isn't too much of an issue but still would be one thousand times better if it had rubber on it. Also the side thumb buttons seem a bit too close for my liking, and they have very little tension and click a little too easily for my tastes.
Also, even though the mouse is big which I like, it doesn't feel right for whatever reason in my hand. I haven't been able to pinpoint whether it feels too wide or tall... Maybe shape, just not sure yet...
- Other Thoughts: I have had the same mouse pad for 5 years now, and I got this mouse and the two of them did NOT get along well together. I have had to replace the pad because the mouse would spaz out due to the pad. A tad annoying considering I have had 3 different mice on that pad before this one and there have been no problems, just added "buyer beware" for those with pads with prints on them.
In closing, while I might grow into this mouse over time, I doubt I will be replacing it with the same mouse should this one die for whatever reason.
Goods and bads
- Pros: You can weight it how ever you like, and the extra weights wrangle the cord so that it never gets in your way. The on-the-fly dpi switching is essential because it's hard to work on your desktop at 2000dpi. The scroll wheel is metal and thick, so you'll never push it on accident, yet it's still easy to hit in an instant.
- Cons: NOT FOR LEFTIES! If you're left handed, look else where. This mouse is designed only with right hands in mind.
- Other Thoughts: Why does this thing even have 400dpi? I have never once used the 400dpi setting. A standard optical mouse is 800dpi.
