3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: 7 Buttons: left click, right click, scroll wheel up, scroll wheel down, middle click, left-side, right-side

It works.

Cons: Like all other intellimice before it, it eventually suffers from the infamous single double-click problem (clicking left click once registers as double-click). It's the mouse, not the drivers or software.

The scroll wheel is unstable. You may think you've finished scrolling, but not quite.

Pros: Looks cool, light wieght

Cons: light wieght, scoll wheel is very loud and "sloppy" feeling,
side button on right side is kinda hard to use without repostioning your hand

Other Thoughts: decent mouse for the desktop, not for gaming though

5 out of 5 eggsPerspective from a hardened PC FPS gamer.

Pros: Very smooth, comfortable grip, perfect size for my hand, scroll wheel 'clicks' when scrolling up or down, which is a plus for me when gaming. LARGE side buttons. To me, this is a PLUS, not a minus. I hate that both 'side' buttons on most mice these days are generally very small, very hard to access, are on one side of the mouse, and take a decent amount of pressure to trigger. NOT ideal for gaming, which is what I'm mostly concerned about.

Cons: For me? None whatsoever. I know some have complained about the side buttons, but I'll give my thoughts in the other thoughts section. Some may say that the DPI level on this mouse is low for gaming as well (one online source cited this mouse as having a 400 DPI rating). However, and this might be the noob/ignoramus in me talking, I actually don't like the higher DPI 'gamer' mice. I find them to be way too sensitive and actually drop my skill level. I'm sure I could drop the sensitivity of said gamer mice, but at that point, what's the purpose of blowing upwards of $70+ on a gamer mouse versus this sweet mouse that'll run you around $20-$25?

Other Thoughts: I've been PC gaming for probably at least 7 or so years now and have owned at least a half dozen of these intellimice throughout my life. When browsing through around in retail shops, I'm always excited to try out new mice, especially flashy ones or mice that are branded as catering towards gamers. 99% (if not 100%) of the time, I've found all other mice to be a let down. The side buttons are PERFECT for gaming (for me). I often bind them to tertiary or quaternary weapon functions (i.e. flashbangs or frag grenades in CoD: MW2). Many people who aren't used to these large side buttons often accidentally click them. I've done this myself many times, but I'm quite used to the mouse and don't have much of a problem with that any more. I also have to comment on the wheel mouse. The newer microsoft mice have bigger, bulkier wheels that are silky smooth when scrolling. Nice for surfing the web, HORRIBLE for cycling through weapons. I hope Microsoft never discontinues this mouse. I LOVE it!

5 out of 5 eggsWhy did they put it there?

Pros: Great 5 button optical mouse with wheel! I love this mouse, would recommend it to everyone.

Cons: Why did they have to put that fifth button on the right? I keep hitting that doing anything! Bit annoying at first, but once you use the mouse long enough, you get used to it.

Other Thoughts: Get used to this mouse, and you will never go back to any other kind of mouse except IntelliMice!

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and functional.

Pros: Works, extra buttons, scroll wheel is solid.

Cons: Wished the side buttons were a little more robust so I would stop clicking them every time I pick up my mouse. Scroll wheel has large stepping, wished it was a bit more sensitive.

Other Thoughts: It works, and I believe I got what I paid for. Thanks again newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsI love it !!!

Pros: I love it! I have an original from another computer and I bought this one for my laptop. Will never go back to a 3 button mouse again.

Cons: None that I have found.

Other Thoughts: I had to really search for this model - it didn't come up first in the microsoft 5 button mouse search.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse!

Pros: Great mouse. Button layout perfect for FPS games. If you need more than 5 programmable buttons on a mouse, then you might want to look elsewhere. Software works great when game makers don't include support for mouse button 4 and 5.

Cons: Can't find this exact layout in a wireless mouse.

Other Thoughts: Don't blow out candles above this or any mouse. Hot wax can wreak havoc in a mouse. Though it did work for a few weeks till Newegg was able to deliver my new one. Actually ordered an extra just in case I can't find a supplier for these in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsLove these mice...

Pros: I started using these mice with FPS games years back and loved the button layout. Even with all the advancements in wireless and optical precision with other mice, it's the button layout on this mouse that I love. Also love this mouse because I'm left-handed.

Cons: I'd love if they released an updated version of this mouse in a wireless and high precision/performance model.

Other Thoughts: I've look to find these mice again for a long time. So glad to have found a place that sells them still. I bought a couple to make sure I have a spare.

Best ambidextrous 5 button mouse I have ever used.

4 out of 5 eggsGood basic mouse, but not perfect

Pros: I've been using these for years, I have never really trusted wireless mice, and being left handed it's better to go basic for me. I recommend the black model over the white, because they (the white ones) get ugly in a hurry. It's not an extremely high dpi or anything but I've never had any complaints as to their functionality in general.

Cons: I've owned many of these over the years, my biggest complaint is the left hand side button always dies after a good amount of use. I actually have a drawer with 4 of these things in it, all working except for the 'back' button on the left side. It's a significant con, but as I said being left handed higher end mice don't work to well for me. I would say I got a good year of daily use out of each of them before the problem occurred though. I would venture to say that my computer usage is significantly higher than the average person.

Other Thoughts: Could be better could be worse. It's a great middle ground for those that are left handed and don't want to special order like myself, or those that just want something simple they won't have to cry over when it breaks.
