1 out of 5 eggsGarbage.

Pros: Very smooth mouse.

Cons: Has to be reconnected everytime I type. If I bump the receiver, I have to reconnect it. I installed the latest drivers for it, checked for 2.4ghz interference, disabled my laptop touch pad--nothing helped. And to top it off, one day it just quit on me. I opened up the mouse and noticed some the battery contacts were fried, go figure. Good job Microsoft.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: I think this is my third Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse and my second Notebook model (believe the other is the Model 2000). I've never had a MS mouse break (which I can't say for MS wireless keyboards). Mouse tracks flawlessly on most surfaces except the smoothest (glass and granite counter-tops give particular trouble).

Software configured easily for my preferred range of movement (Note: because mouse worked perfectly when initially plugged into my laptop, I almost forgot to download and install MS control panel software). Battery life may not be quite the advertised six months, but it is good, especially if the USB receiver is popped into the bottom storage cavity, which automatically turns off the mouse to conserve juice.

Cons: The MS control panel software, while good, is not as good as the biggest competitor's.

Other Thoughts: Have to remember nothing is wrong with the mouse when button functions seem to "suddenly reverse"--easy to forget that I set USB pointing device buttons to swap during a PowerPoint presentation to accommodate the remote RF pointer!

2 out of 5 eggsQuit after three months

Pros: It is an excellent mouse, and it was very comfortable. It is good for gaming. Excellent battery life.

Cons: the receiver stuck out of my laptop, and had to be reconnected whenever it was bumped. The mouse was not good when used on my desktop computer.
Oh yeah, it quit after three months.

Other Thoughts: Aside from the cons listed, it's quite good.

Pros: It was nice when it lasted

Cons: Died after 6 months. I mean, COME ON!

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this mouse and waste your money. Stick with logitech

5 out of 5 eggsWould buy again

Pros: This mouse has worked quite well for me. I like it as it operates as I expect a mouse to. Never jumps or erratic scrolls.
I have small hands and it is comfortable.
I use it with my desktop because my dog keeps going under the desk and tangling with the corded mouse wire. This solves that problem.
Works on the desktop or mousepad.

Cons: The battery does not last more than a few weeks if I do not unplug the USB and put it in the mouse base to turn it off.
But it only uses 1 AA battery.

Other Thoughts: I'd get a second one for my laptop if there is another shell shocker deal.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good mouse, but bulky transceiver

Pros: Good ergonomics, response and battery life.

Cons: Bulky transceiver

Other Thoughts: Definitely one of the better models across the Microsoft Notebook wireless mouses. The visible laser offers excellent battery/functioning indication. Can't see the laser, time to change the battery. The tactile scroll wheel is excellent in providing control. If you are not careful, you will more than likely damage your USB port with the bulky awkwardly dangling transceiver, a common problem with most of the Microsoft Notebook wireless mouses.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic, Have used it for 4 years and counting!

Pros: -Small and simple design.
-No crazy side buttons.
-Scroll wheel works wonderfully.
-Very long battery life (at-least 8 months - depends on the battery you use and distance from the antenna) -
-Easy to change the battery.
-Comfortable rubber grip on sides
-Very durable - this has lasted me for 4 years now and still works fantastic. No signs of wear after tons of use.

Cons: none actually.

Other Thoughts: I use a usb port extension and have the antenna on my desk for longer battery life and maximum precision.

I use this mouse for my main desktop actually. Replaced my wired mouse with a wireless - i'll never go back! This is the best wireless mouse I've ever used. I have big hands too, but the small size is easier and faster to control, especially for gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsTraveling companion

Pros: Small
Lightweight
Excellent battery life (averaging four months with daily usage)
Good fit, if you have smaller hands
Works on many surfaces (even a fairly reflective granite countertop)

Cons: Uncomfortable for users with large hands - get a desktop mouse!
Wish it came with forward/backward buttons, like some desktop mice
Works poorly on transparent or reflective surfaces (but what do you expect?)

Other Thoughts: I own several of these; I carry one with my ASUS EeePC 1000 and one with my Dell Inspiron. I bought one for my fiancee and one for Mom. They're easier on my fingertips than the trackpad and work on a lot of surfaces. Be sure to carry a mousepad, in case you work on a reflective surface. I've read other comments that complain about this - come on, people! Use your heads! The mouse uses a laser - how can it properly reflect on glass or metal?

5 out of 5 eggsvery smooth and fast

Pros: Fast shipping newegg! +5 there
Great for my toshiba satellite T6400 C2D
easy to install, plug & play/ hot swap
no more dealing and tangling my wires like the previous cord mouse I use to have for my laptop

Cons: To bad the mouse can't get power from the computer, which is require a AA battery.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat netbook/notebook mouse

Pros: Normally I'd be writing about a Logitech mouse, but got this at a great price.

It ranks right up there with Logitech's V220, but gains an extra point for having a configurable, extra button (above battery light indicator). If you don't require that, then the L. V220 and this are neck and neck.

From a ergonomic view, it's great. Just small enough for ease of travel, without cramping your hand after several hours of use.

The battery it came with (single AA) is still going at 4+ months.

Cons: None. A great mobile mouse.

Other Thoughts: Just remember it's a mouse for mobile use, not really 8+ hour work days. If that's the case, you'll see the battery plummet, like any other mouse not intended for such use.

If that's the case, pick up a wireless notebook mouse (i.e. Logitech's VX Revolution is the perfect happy medium of full vs. mobile size, power consumption, and features).
