Microsoft Compact Optical Mouse 500

Pros: Compact. Great for a laptop. Price.

Cons: Cord is VERY short.

Other Thoughts: Bought for a desktop, but cord is too short for that without an extension. I will keep it for another use though. Would have gone with 4-5 eggs if not for the cord.

Pros: It is so small and so cute!

Pros: The form factor of the Microsoft Compact Mouse is excellent for users with smaller hands.

Cons: The cord is extremely short: 30" (76.2cm).

Other Thoughts: This purchase was a replacement for a Microsoft Compact Mouse model 500 purchased a few years ago. The form factor is identical to the earlier model, but the cord is less than half the length (30"). I would buy again, but now I know to order a USB extension at the same time. Another note, the mouse I received has the MS text logo on the top, but is lacking the holographic sticker and other Microsoft branding on the bottom. May be a knock-off product? Still, it works.

Pros: Sturdy, light , glides well, and feels good in the hand, tracks good.

Cons: Smaller than i expected but that's np.

Other Thoughts: Good cheap mouse for people on the go.

Pros: Works well, constructed fairly well. Small size is good for storing in notebook (laptop) bag, but takes some getting use to when operating mouse.

Cons: Small gauge cord could be damaged easily.

Other Thoughts: Yes, it is small, but it is suppose to be (see meaning of "Compact")

Pros: It works properly.

Cons: The mouse is way too small to be comfortable. I can not imagine adult using this mouse. However, 5 year old kids like it.

Other Thoughts: I got v. 2.0 of this mouse. It has short (2 ft) cord.

Pros: Extremely easy to use if you have small hands.
Highly recommended. Newegg Rocks!!!

Cons: The usb cable is a little short.

Pros: I have bought two of these. One for my laptop, and one for my desktop.

Everyone complains about the cable length. I do not.

I just keep the twist tie that came with the mouse to begin with. I keep the cable folded up and then I plug it into my laptop.

For the desktop, I use that cable length!! It is nice.

Finally, I have not had any problems with either mouse. I use them practically everyday. They are small and responsive.

Cons: Maybe the cord and mouse wheel colors could be changed, but I am not that picky.

Pros: - Long cord
- The small size subconsciously trains your hand to use the claw grip!

Cons: - I have to use a mouse pad.

I mean having a mouse pad isn't a big deal, but I'd rather reduce clutter and just use the mouse on my desk. Unfortunately when I do that, the cursor skips around the screen and stuff.

Other Thoughts: One day I needed a mouse. Since this was the least expensive, I bought this.

Since then I've started gaming and this mouse has impressed me. I'm able to keep 2:1 K/D ratio on Call of Duty 4, but then again that game is just spray and pray.

On a game like Crysis, my K/D is much worse. Although I'm pretty sure my frame rate has a lot more to do with that than this mouse.

I've never used a good mouse, so I have no idea how this compares.
