There's nothing timid about this mouse! This wireless laser mouse offers High Definition laser technology for more precise, responsive, and smoother tracking on almost any surface. The magnifier feature lets users enlarge and edit detail, and the innovative tilt wheel enables four-way scrolling. The scroll wheel tilts to deliver smooth, accurate performance as you scroll horizontally and vertically through documents and Web pages.
Experience the ease and convenience that a wireless mouse offers, and say good-bye to tangled cords and clutter. Smart Receiver technology automatically notifies you when signal interference is present, and then helps you reduce it. Enjoy the comfort of this curved and sculpted ambidextrous body design, and the speed and accuracy this high-grade mouse offers.
Pros: Quality feel, looks great on desk. Great battery life (I've had it 6+ months and have yet to change the batteries), and it uses AA's instead of the rechargable Li-Ions (their batter life sucks). This is a great mouse for my media computer. I'm right handed, my girlfriend is left handed, and the mouse is comfortable for us both. Customizable software is application specific, so I can set certain buttons to perform certain tasks in different applications. Signal quality is fine...I sit about 3-4 feet from reciever, only had to reset after a brownout. After a bit of searching, turns out the warranty is 5 years; puts my mind at ease for if I do have any issues down the road!
Cons: Would be nice if the reciever was just a usb stick, not the dongle that sits on the desk, but I (unlike a lot of people it seems) actually find these things out prior to spending the money, and knew it going in...not a big deal, but I would change it if I could...warranty information a little vague without some digging.
Other Thoughts: People...this is not a gaming mouse. It is a mouse built for universal use, for righties and lefties, and general computing needs. Half the bad reviews are from people who seem to just buy things on a whim without actually doing 5 minutes of research first. Specifications clearly state that this is a 1000 DIP mouse, and it's well known that wireless mice are inferior for gaming.

Microsoft Does It Again.
Reviewed By: eighty dee on 3/28/2008
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: I love the side scrolling this is my first mouse with side scrolling. And the option to program the buttons. Long battery life. I leave it on for days and still working and kicking! And the ability to use the magnafier, I dont use it but it's nice to have in case of small print.
Cons: Well only a few small things. I've had alot of mouses for the months and I bought a MI at wallie world an returned it cause of it's DPI (WAY SLOW) I found this one and got home hooked it up. The first thing I encountered was the wireless reciever. I thought it would be a USB stick but it's wired to about 3 feet to the reciever. Well, I just kept the twisty tie on it so it's fine. The second problem was the installation. For some reason it wouldn't let me install the software. The mouse worked but I couldn't use some features. I found out my old mouse (Logitech) was holding it back. So I finally uninstalled it that everything worked. Third, the scroll wheel seems sluggish but not to big of a problem. Fourth, when you want to use the middle button, it's way to hard to use but I suppose that's what you get for side scrolling. So I just use Ctrl+click when on firefox. Otherwise, I love this mouse!
Other Thoughts: USB stick reciever for laptops. Kind of wish it would have the back and forward button in the same place so easy reach for the thumb. But I suppose you will be more prone to bump it.

Pros: Feels great. Has good weight to it and fits well in the hand. Not sure what others are talking about with the range, I can still have signal with the mouse from the next room.
Cons: Not rechargeable?

Poor Scrolling - Short Range
Reviewed By: Allencar on 10/15/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Good comfort and precise x-y movement
Cons: Scrolling is not precise. you need to move fairly far before the page starts to move then it seems to catch up making it very hard to stop where you want. The tilt scroll does not work in any application I use including Microsoft.
Wireless range is poor. Anything more than 3 feet don't expect it to work. I keep the receiver on the keyboard shelf to be assured that it works.
Other Thoughts: I really like my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 on my other computer, but not this one. I am buying a new mouse to replace this one and only use it as a spare.

Poor Gaming Mouse
Reviewed By: on 9/27/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Better than advertised range, but only good for about 8-10 feet. High sensitivity, four way mouse wheel, five buttons.
Cons: The middle click (mouse wheel click) only works when the mouse wheel is directly centered, so it must be pushed straight down. The mouse wheel is smooth, with no clicks, so it works poorly for gaming and non-Windows operating systems (I also run Ubuntu). In Battlefield 2, the mouse wheel is hyper sensitive and scrolls through your weapons way to fast. In Ubuntu, the mouse wheel is hyper sensitive in everything, making slow scrolling of web pages and other programs impossible.
Other Thoughts: A nice and affordable wireless mouse, but the scroll wheel can be aggravating.
