Microsoft LifeCam Cinema

Pros: -Clear picture
-Easy to use software
-Stylish
-Flexible stand

Cons: -Resource demanding software (Requires at least a 3.0GHz Wolfdale dual core, brought my old 2.60GHz Wolfdale dual core to its knees. )
-Microphone is a little cheap, but still works fine
-Windows Live button is pointless (works, but who uses Windows live anymore?)
-Doesn't like other software

Other Thoughts: It's a nice camera, really. It's the best webcam I have ever used, actually. The video quality surpasses nearly every laptop one out there. Most of the cons will only matter to people who needed those features, but is perfectly fine for the average joe.

I received this as a gift in 2010, back when this was priced at $80.

Works 100% fine on Windows 7 x64 (SP1 and no SP).

I love this thing.

Pros: I should have done this years ago. No problems anywhere. Skype works perfectly.

Those are all of the things I was looking for in the Webcam, so overall great purchase.

Cons: None.

Pros: Good Image quality, ok zoom function.

Cons: No mic. Mic does not work either on my Windows 7 PC or MAC.

Other Thoughts: Go Logitech and save yourself some time

Pros: Clear picture, widesceen, auto focus technology.

Cons: A bit tricky to get the white balance correct, Windows Live Messenger call button doesn't seem to work but that's a non-issue as I don't use it.

Pros: Great video quality, I'm happy with this

Cons: Kinda delicate. I dropped it once from about 1-1.5 feet in the air and now there is a white line across the top of any recording I do. :(

Pros: Worked OK for 14 months.

Cons: Worked OK for 14 months and started randomly turning on and off about every 5 minutes.

Other Thoughts: Tested on 2 computers to be sure. Looking into warranty (3 year) right now.

Pros: Nice camera, decent microphone, autofocus is decent when it works, auto picture adjustments are good for low-light environments.

Cons: When I first installed the camera, everything more than three inches away from the lens was blurry, with or without autofocus. After some research, I found that someone fixed the problem by hitting the camera on their desk a few times! I thought "why not, I will have to return it anyway" so I gave it a shot, and it worked! I guess the focus mechanism is sort of locked in place at the factory sometimes, and knocking it around a bit loosens it up and allows it to work. So if you are having focus issues, give it a whack!

Pros: Works with Kubuntu 10.04 and Skype with little trouble. Good video and sound quality. Focuses well. Being able to swivel the camera is nice.

Cons: Low resolution pictures. Price seems relatively high.

Pros: Picture looks really good over video calls on skype

Cons: I wish the person on the other end of the video call had one...


The microphone may be a little too sensetive, but that could probably be adjusted with a setting somewhere.
