5 out of 5 eggsGreat little webcam

Pros: Don't know about what some of the other reviewers are talking about when they complain about the auto focus causing them grief....mine works fine. I do a lot of Skype with family and friends, and they all say they like the quality of video they are receiving when chatting with me. The screen mount is a little finicky, but does the job keeping the webcam stationary and motionless. The built in internal microphone is very clear, and I can speak at normal room level, and people at the other end say they hear me loud and clear. I bought my webcam on sale for $24.95, so I think this is a great webcam for the price. Had it not been on sale, I STILL would have purchased it at the regular $47.00 price.

Cons: Absolutely none so far.

1 out of 5 eggsFocus SUCKS

Pros: - very mobile
- LED lets you know when it's on

Cons: - Auto focus is DREADFUL. It readjusts itself all the time at complete random and cannot stay focused on one thing for more than 5 seconds. Horrible. It's so frustrating. You can sit absolutely still, and the camera will constantly go blurry and clear back and forth, driving you crazy.

- Quality is pretty horrifying, I swear the lens is just a frozen layer of vaseline

-Would work better as an a-nal bead

Other Thoughts: I urge you to buy something else and burn down the factory creating these

4 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: Great for video chatting and stuff i need to do with it. Mic is fine, it works

Cons: I dont know if its the software of the camera but it records video horribly with the free programs ive used. No support software or generic microsoft software.

Other Thoughts: Works well for video chatting and pictures.

4 out of 5 eggsMicrosoft LifeCam HD 5000

Pros: Great resolution

"Funny faces" options for video chat and general recording

Pictures are clear and well-focused

Cons: Auto-focus during video is constant

Video framerate during HD recording is very laggy

Records in 720p resolution, but quality leaves a bit to be desired

Other Thoughts: Bought this as a cheap solution for a webcam, and I'm not disappointed. Great webcam all-around, rubber-coated stand lets it stand by itself or grip onto any screen (Laptop or flat-screen monitor). The different faces used during the video recording or face chat had my girlfriend rolling in laughter during a chat session, despite the time needed to load them into the frame

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cam for the price

Pros: Great picture and microphone quality, hangs on nicely to my monitor.

Cons: This isn't really the cameras fault, it's Microsoft's software for running it. It's always trying to refocus itself. You can disable it in the settings, but it resets to default every time you close it out and restart it.

Other Thoughts: Works great on Skype

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Drivers

Pros: Great quality video and high FPS..when it works.

Cons: Terrible compatibility with Win7. After a few weeks my computer stopped recognizing the camera despite up to date drivers. Reinstalling the driver seemed to fix it, but here I am a week later and it's doing the same thing. Had no issues whatsoever when reconnecting my old webcam.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Small and easy to use
Sand works great on desktop
Picture quality is amazing
Sound is clear and loud
Lots of fun effects with software provided

Cons: Has problems with some monitors
Some times the auto focus causes poor quality
Not all computers will be able to run True HD and keep picture quality

Other Thoughts: I run on 3gb of ram and operate on windows vista I have a 512mb video graphics car and I still have to lower the quality to have really smooth video quality. The HD still records just not the way I would like it too. Over all I believe this is a great buy.

2 out of 5 eggsThe cons out way the pros

Pros: -Sits on the monitor well
-Very good picture quality (if one can get it to install)
-Small and out of the way

Cons: -The software included would not install with Win7 64-bit. It would freeze the computer then restart every time.
-The only way to install it on Win7 64-bit was to download new drivers and firmware for the camera from MS.
-After installed it messed up youtube videos (nothing but a green screen for the video). Had to right click and disable a accelerator / advanced graphics option that this camera enabled. That took a while to figure out
-Win7 auto update found some new drivers and after installing them my situation was reverted back to the computer crashing and freezing problem.
-Autofocus annoyingly adjusts after even the slightest movement.

Other Thoughts: I built a new computer for my parents everything worked great except this webcam. It was annoying for them to have a brand new PC freeze and crash over and over when they first tried it. I think there will be less hassel if I exchange this camera for a comparably priced Logitech. Being as my parents are not terribly computer savvy, I would hate for them to experience the crash / restart event after every windows automatic update.

5 out of 5 eggsExceptional

Pros: Picture quality far exceeds what I've come to expect in webcams but the clarity of this device is truly high quality. Quite pleased in every aspect and well priced also.

Cons: None so far.
