3 out of 5 eggsObviously not intended for everyday use

Pros: - Compact and light
- Low-profile transceiver means less hassle/accidents
- fits comfortably in hand
- 4-way trackwheel is nice

Cons: - shoddy construction
- trackwheel deterioration, subsequent snagging, causing finger irritation
- no "sleep mode" for bluetooth track light, which stays on & drains battery unless you turn it off manually
- battery life nowhere near advertised, even if diligent with turning off the bluetooth

Other Thoughts: Started out great, but wore down quickly. This thing was obviously not intended for everyday use. I used this as my primary mouse at work, 40~ hours of use per week. After a few months, I noticed some bubbles appearing in the rubberized grips. Not a problem, but definitely an indicator of things to come. 7 or 8 months in, started having difficulty with the trackwheel. After inspection, I noted that its sleek coat was gone, the rough inner layer now exposed. I assume the exterior has flaked off and collected inside the case, and this is what's causing the trackwheel to "drag" through most of the rotation, which has caused significant finger irritation. I'd check, but can't find a safe way of getting the darn thing open. Also, battery life is NOWHERE NEAR 10 months. I'd put it at maybe 2 months tops, based on my use. I'm not sure what sort of time frame Microsoft used in their analysis, but it surely wasn't for full-time computer users. If you want a mouse that lasts, go elsewhere.

3 out of 5 eggsNice Feel....short range...

Pros: Mouse has a great feel. Wheel is just the right sensitivity.

Cons: Very short range. I had the micro reciever plugged into the back of my computer, the front of my computer...Four feet away from the mouse itself...and it was...jogging across the screen (kinda chunky).

Solution was to use a USB extension it is like having a wired mouse....cept for the last foot.

Other Thoughts: I would probably buy a mouse from a different brand even if it cost a little more. They were inexpensive at $taples this week, so i picked up a bunch for gifts.
