1 out of 5 eggsI placed my previous review in wrong place

Pros: It's a poor excuse for a mouse.

Cons: I place my previous review for this in the wrong place. There are 2 different wireless Microsoft 3500 mouses. One is full sized (for business), the other is small (for laptops). Confusing because they are both Microsoft 3500. Apparently they are VERY different.

If you read my "one egg" review in this section, please know that it applies to the small laptop version.

1 out of 5 eggspoor tracking control

Pros: It's a mouse.

Cons: stutters, jumps, uncontrollable at times

Other Thoughts: Using Windows 7, 64 bit. I read the other reviews and I seem to be in a minority. The mouse (3500) is a big disappointment. Very annoying to use as the cursor is sometimes okay, other times simply uncontrollable. Maybe it's because the computer ("desktop") is located under the table and it gets a poor signal??? But then why wouldn't it be terrible all the time?? In any case, for me this has been a disappointing purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes not work with MS Intellipoint

Pros: Works good except as noted below. Customization probably works fine with newer operating systems.

Cons: I specifically bought this mouse to use with MS Intellipoint software so i could customize the buttons. Granted, I'm using WinXP, but the Intellipoint software does not even recognize this mouse or my MS mobile mouse 4000 (with the v1 transceiver) and both are listed in Intellipoint. Thanks alot MS...

Other Thoughts: MS Intellipoint software says "Microsoft mouse not detected" and all the customizable options are grayed out. The same thing happens with my MS mobile mouse 4000 with the v1 nano transceiver. I tried multiple versions of Intellipoint , searched online, tweaked the registry, deleted ghost devices in device manager, but nothing helped so far. Really disappointing.
My mobile mouse 4000 with the v2 nano transceiver DOES work with Intellipoint... so what gives MS???

5 out of 5 eggs2 Years and still going

Pros: Buttons, Wheel all still working fine after 30 months

Cons: The only con I can think of is that if you leave the mouse turned on while not in use the batteries run dry in only a few days.

2 out of 5 eggsnot compatible with its own products

Pros: mouse works when used with wired keyboard

Cons: My Microsoft wireless mouse 3500 doesn't work with my sculpt comfort wireless keyboard. When I use both transceivers , it shows keyboard, mouse, and transceiver twice in control panel/hardware and sound/devices and printers. when i remove mouse transceiver, mouse stops working, and when i remove the keyboard transceiver, keyboard stops working.

Other Thoughts: Wish Microsoft would make these work all their own wireless products

4 out of 5 eggsMicrosoft wireless 3500 bluetrack

Pros: Smooth tracking and easy to use on some pc's.
Happens to work great for the pc I bought it for.
Works very well on my new build!!

Cons: Doesn't seem to work on all pc's though.

Other Thoughts: This has always been the case with mice, wireless or not.

5 out of 5 eggsMost Reliable Mouse Owned

Pros: I've had this mouse for over 5 years now, and it still works the same as it did right out of the box. It's nothing fancy, but if you're looking at this mouse it's likely that you're not looking for a lot of bells and whistles.

It works great on a large number of surfaces, and some of the surfaces it operates on astounds me.

I have not been disappointed in this mouse in the slightest. The battery life is incredible.

I find this mouse to be very comfortable to use over long periods of time. If you have average to large sized hands, this mouse is operated comfortably with a claw-like grip of the hand. If you're not used to this, you might find it slightly uncomfortable at first, but you'll get used to it. Over time, it might even become more comfortable than an alternative.

Cons: The transceiver doesn't have the greatest range if there are any obstacles in the way. When I got a new desk, I found that I had to get a USB extender so that I could place the transceiver on top of my desk rather than plugged directly into my desktop. If there are no obstacles in the way, such as a large wooden desk, the range is rather good, and I have played Civilizations V from my couch over 10ft away.

Other Thoughts: If you want a reliable mouse for a rather low price, this is the mouse for you.
