Pros: Resolution is 1080p, excellent auto-focus, excellent picture quality, I love that it does not come full of additional software. It comes with some funny tricks for your webcam but that's it. The mic works well, nice audio, the other party can hear me crystal clear.

Cons: None

Pros: No strings attached. Really good for video capture and it does record at 1080p. It comes with a case.

Cons: at 1080p there is a slight lag.

Other Thoughts: I haven't really used it for anything other than with Broadcasting software and Skype. Used it once or twice with a face recognition software that works like a mo-cap.

Pros: Small form factor, decent inbuilt microphone and great low light color and image quality all make this little camera great for our use. We have bought 20 of them and despite quite a lot of hard use on them (including saltwater exposure), only one has failed. The autofocus is pretty good, the images are clear. I do NOT use the Lifecam software at all, so the problems reported with this are not an issue for our use.

Cons: Microsoft drivers are... well... if you have to ask. Settings set on the camera (autofocus on/off, white balance, zoom in or out, ect) do not persist through a restart of the computer. For some of our uses we needed a camera that did that so we purchased a logitech camera which has much more stable drivers in that regard. If you plan on using a separate microphone you will likely need to go into your microphone CP settings and mute the levels on the lifecam mic. Minus one egg for these problems.

Other Thoughts: This is a rugged little camera. Combined with the low light picture quality and price, this is a tough webcam to beat.

Pros: Physical form/ functionality

Cons: The first thing out of the box was a forced firmware update. after that, it was always sketchy. Worked great when it worked, which is why I tried so hard to make it work. Boneheaded move B/C I ran out of return option. Installed/ uninstalled/reinstalled on several PC's, one was a fresh OS (Win7). Same issues: Purple, grey. dim, or no picture. I gave up after a few months of intermittent functioning and bought Logitech. No problems since.

Pros: Excellent

Cons: None.

Pros: The picture looks great! Worked with out issue on Windows 7. It also worked on Skype and Google Hangouts.

Cons: Struggled to make it work on Windows 8.1. I ended up installing the Windows 7 drivers in Windows 7 compatibility mode and also the software in Windows 7 compatibility mode. This got it up - sort of. The video won't record correctly and the special features, silly hats and what-not, don't work. It did work with Skype though so I got my use from it.

Other Thoughts: I would avoid this model now that I know what kind of headache it lead to.

Pros: The Microsoft Lifecam Studio for Business boasts high quality outputs and it does exactly that.

Cons: The only cons so far is that every once in a while when starting the software to record, it's not found and you have to unplug it then plug it back in.

Pros: The video quality is great, and it picks up movement better than most webcams. The flexible camera mount is really well made, and helps when adjusting to where ever you mount it. The overall design is well thought, and looks really nice. The usb cable is also a good legnth reaches the back of my desktop on the floor all the way to the top of my monitor on my desk easily.

Cons: The mic quality isn't the best obviously, and the Microsoft software doesn't go too in depth with adjusting how you want to camera. The flicker can be a little annoying, and there's slight discoloration I've noticed. The Auto Focus I've had to disable because it often will refocus when it's completely uneeded. These all combined were my reasons for removing one egg.

Other Thoughts: If the mount could not only bend on one axis that'd be great!

Pros: First feature is: "1080p HD Sensor

Cons: But you cant use it's 1080P functionality without whatever software they want you to buy. The following is the asterisks next to the first feature of 1080p - *Popular video call services support VGA resolution-not 1080p. 1080p HD recording requires: commercial video software (not included)"

Other Thoughts: When your first feature of the product is a half truth, it makes me wonder what else you are hiding about this camera Microsoft.

Pros: This camera keeps up with my professional shoulder mount camcorder. This is an amazing webcam.

Cons: The Mic on this isnt the best of the best but is a 7/10 rating
