Pros: Works out of the box just fine. Works great on a lot of surfaces, even the upholstery on my couch. Compatible with Linux.

Cons: It is a bit on the small side. I probably would look for something a little bigger if you are going to use it for a desktop. But it is the perfect size for a HTPC or for your laptop on the go.

Pros: Great little mouse. Used it on campus, now at home and in the office. Has survived various accidental droppings and the daily shuffling in my bag. Works on practically any surface.

Cons: Sometimes I get wireless range issues with the mouse, but it happens rarely. If I move (literally) a foot closer to the issue goes away.

Pros: Tracking- For a non gaming mouse this unit has performed superbly. Good range and travel size.

Cons: Chews through batteries. At first, I was using a battery per month. Now, even with frugal use, the mouse drains a battery every 11 days. Mouse is much too small for use at a desktop.

Pros: I love the build quality, this mouse is quite sturdy. Is responsive enough for light gaming. Battery life has been impressive. Is placed 6 feet away from receiver and has not missed a beat.

Cons: Only 3 buttons. Price is ~10 too high, and thus the -1 egg. It is a bit smaller than most mice, I am a big person and so the base of my palm drags a bit.

Other Thoughts: Would be perfect if it was about 1/4 inch wider and 3/4 inch longer...

Pros: Microsoft quality.

Cons: In the past I've been happy with Microsoft products. But the particular mouse I've liked for years Microsoft no longer carries.

In looking for what other mice Microsoft had this one looked good to me. I overlooked that this mouse is smaller than most. Probably meant to be used with laptop computer rather than a desktop?

Other Thoughts: Purchased this mouse for my children. Given their smaller hands the size wasn't a concern for them. If I had to use this mouse all day long I think I would find the small size a bit awkward to use.
