5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mouse!

Pros: This is a great mouse. The button clicks feel nice, and the scroll wheel works perfectly, one click = one selection. Great size, my hand feels very comfortable using this mouse for long gaming sessions. Very responsive as well.

Cons: Cord is short and I had to use an extension to plug it into my PC, but this is more of a PC layout issue on my part so I am not docking an egg.

Other Thoughts: After using a Razer Death Adder for a couple years, this mouse is way more bang for the buck in my opinion. The Death Adder had mouse wheel issues from the get go and was very high priced. This mouse performs better at a fraction of the cost. It isn't quite as pretty, but I think performance is much more important. If I am selecting a weapon and the mouse wheel freaks out, it usually means I pay with my virtual life.

3 out of 5 eggsOld Model Was Better

Pros: Mappable buttons
Good scroll wheel
Smooth

Cons: A little long in the hand
Odd scrolling behavior (overshoots on web pages)
New drivers confusingly take over keyboard rendering it inoperable

Other Thoughts: I finally gave up finding my fave mouse (Intellimouse Explorer 4.0) at a decent price and figured out this current model was close. It's not as nice and does not fit my hand as well as the Explorer. Microsoft has reprogrammed its mouse driver combining it with a keyboard driver the result being that my keyboard was disabled after installing the mouse driver (what?). I finally located an old mouse driver and reinstalled my keyboard driver and am back to normal. Installing a mouse should NOT be this difficult. Overall, the mouse is nice and smooth and has the proper side buttons but I only gave it three eggs due to the confusing driver setup. Sheesh.

4 out of 5 eggsJust what I wanted

Pros: I have used nothing but a Microsoft Intellimouse 6000 mice for the past 7 years. The reason is because I will not live without the magnify feature that only Microsoft comes with. Aside from losing the magnify feature I love so much, Logitech mice have always been too heavy for my liking. My brother's Logitech also has a center scroll wheel that only clicks when it wants to. Razor mice are way to expensive, and the Synapse driver they use appears to need an internet connection. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!

With all that said, I was reluctant to buy the new Microsoft Comfort 6000 because of so many negative reviews. Too often I read, "Why did Microsoft stop making the Intellimouse? It was the best mouse of them all!"

After struggling with all the old mice I still have around the house, I finally bit the bullet and ordered the Comfort 6000. I am sure glad I did. I have normal sized hands and to me this mouse is the perfect shape and weight. Only the side buttons (buttons 4 and 5), could be positioned better. However, reaching them is a lot easier than it was with the Intellimouse so those who loved the Intellimouse should take that into account. (I use a palm grip, not a claw grip.)

I also LOVE the fact that it does not have any distracting lights. If you want a mouse that looks like downtown Las Vegas, this may not be the mouse for you. Also, left-handed people will not appreciate the side buttons being on the left. To most people, as it was to me, that will not be an issue.

In conclusion, is the Comfort 6000 better than the Intellimouse 6000? In a nutshell, Yes!

The only issue I have is that clicking is louder than the Intellimouse. With that said, I'm glad I disregarded all the negative reviews.

Cons: As mentioned above, clicking is louder than I would like, but not by much.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect fit

Pros: Perfect fit, perfect weight. Nice features.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This mouse is great quality, and a nice weight. I still like it better than any wireless mouse I've tried.

3 out of 5 eggsOK, But They've Made Better

Pros: Comfortable
Smooth
Three extra buttons

Cons: Smaller size than Intellimouse
No horizontal scrolling
Seems kind of "Cheap"

Other Thoughts: I am looking for replacements for my dwindling collection of Intellimouse 4.0A mice and this comes close but barely. I can live without the horizontal scrolling since it's rarely used, but why deprecate the product? It's a little smaller which I guess I'll get used to. All black design is not as attractive and there's no light telling you it's plugged in unless you turn it over.

Microsoft: bring back the Intellimouse!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good mouse

Pros: Comfort, tracking, buttons

Cons: Wheel drift

Other Thoughts: Good mouse, tracks excellent, comfortable to grip, only gripe is the wheel is very inaccurate. Sometimes one notch of the wheel will scroll once, sometimes twice, sometimes three times. Scrolling quickly will have random response/drifting.

4 out of 5 eggsgood purchase

Pros: tracking as advertised, I put the mouse on my palm and it tracked then on my head and it tracked. all buttons work.

Cons: I have small hands and the 6000 is a little big, I have trouble reaching the second thumb button. I don't know if this is a con or what but it feels very light (mouse and buttons). I've had this mouse for @6 months and it feels the same as the 1st day I used it.

Other Thoughts: I'm thinking of getting 2 more just in case MS discontinues this model.

4 out of 5 eggsNOT a replacement for an Intellimouse

Pros: It has the same shape as an Intellimouse Explorer or a Habu (Both extremely awesome mice that Microsoft bungled by decommissioning.)

The buttons all work nicely, and it fits a palm grip well.
Good enough sensor to game with.

AMAZING software. The intellimouse drivers, and now the mouse and keyboard center, let me do everything I wanted except for changing DPI. [They're also, and this is important, the only drivers I've found that can reliably switch between app-specific settings when you open a program.]

Cons: It's small. The pictures make it look like an updated version of the Intellimouse (Which was huge, and a lot of us loved it because of that), but it's probably only 75% as large.

This actually is a con for me, as it causes my pinky to rub against the mouse surface annoyingly.

Other Thoughts: Probably the best mouse that Microsoft makes for gamers anymore.

We should all be annoyed with them, because discontinued all their nice mice and only focus on touch mice and basic ones... They used to make really, REALLY good mice, for way cheaper than any other company.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: fits comfortably in my hand, good response time, easy to install, i like that buttons 4 & 5 are both on the thumb as some 5 button mice have a button on the outside

Cons: glad im right handed as the ergo design is only for use on right hand

Other Thoughts: good value for price and i purchased two of them
