1 out of 5 eggsI don't think there is a worse mouse on the planet.

Pros: - none.

Cons: - I acknowledge that not everything can be plug-n-play. However, when it takes 4 attempts for the device to be recognized, and then takes 5 minutes for a suitable driver to be found, and it still does not respond correctly, that should have been the first warning sign. But I continued anyways.
- Had to find a driver for it online, at the microsoft site. It did not work either. With some searching, found 2 other drivers to try based on similar problems. Not quite there.
- This product has massive Driver problems, which after installing and testing 3 different versions of, still did not function. I even tried downloading and installing the Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard center, which at least made it functional. Somewhat. Side-scroll seemed to be locked on, even after I disabled all but the 2 primary buttons and the scroll function.
- Mechanically, it feels cheap. I doubt it would last more than a few months. It is obviously some kind of chinese clone that somehow gained permission to use the Microsoft name.
- There is no feedback on the scroll-wheel, but enough resistance for control of it. Button clicks are loud. It is not as comfortable as it looks, or as named.
- Even if the driver had worked perfectly (and quickly), it would have existed only long enough for me to order something worthy from Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Win7Pro 64

- Please note that I did not purchase this on Newegg, I went to a nearby Box store because I needed a wired mouse asap, and this is all they had. I simply wanted to warn others before they ordered one. You're better off glueing some yarn to a rock and plugging it in as a mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsRepeat Purchase

Pros: I purchased this from Newegg because I couldn't find this mouse locally, and I really needed it NOW.

I have had one for several years and finally wore it out. Didn't even try to find a different mouse to replace this one, just wanted the same one again.

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: It is really hard to find a 5+ button mouse that can be fully used by a left-handed person, hopefully MS will continue making this model fro many years.

2 out of 5 eggsMouse wheel sucks

Pros: It works

Cons: The mouse wheel is garbage (hardware) and has tracking issues (driver)

Other Thoughts: It's a mouse, it works, but the wheel has real issues. I buy Microsoft hardware b/c it's generally high quality. This mouse is an exception. The middle mouse wheel has no positive feedback...no clicks or anything...it just spins. And sometimes the computer beeps b/c there is an error when turning the wheel. Win7 64 with latest drivers/updates.

2 out of 5 eggsNot what I expected

Pros: Standard size mouse, a little bit larger around the edge. Mouse clicks are at an ok volume, not too loud. The side buttons are silent and nicely located. Scroll wheel is silent, smooth and seems to work fine.

Cons: The mouse does not track as well as my old intellimouse explorer from early 2000. It is not as comfortable as it looks, the shape is not refined. When I pick the mouse up it moves the cursor up on the screen, my old mouse did not do that. Overall this mouse feels and looks like a generic cheap quality mouse. Not the quality I remember.

Other Thoughts: I am going to buy another Microsoft Intellimouse made over 10 years because it is a way better product. No comparison. I would send it back but I did not buy on Newegg, wish I did. under 10 bucks for the mouse but over 10 in shipping & handling on sears. I'm going to buy my stuff from newegg next time.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: It works well enough. It succeeds at moving the cursor around the screen analogous to my hand's motions on the mouse pad.

Cons: -Material on the sides, the grippy stuff, gets sticky a while after use (probably from sweat or gunk from food) and this can get gross. Cleaning it is difficult.
-The trackwheel on my unit had a rubber liner around it for comfort, which basically rotted off after 6 months of use.
-Loud clicks. I detest loud-click mice.

Other Thoughts: Coming from a cheap little laptop mouse I picked up from a drug store in town, that had seen three or more years of use, this mouse barely lasted me a year. It will be consigned to the scrapheap... or maybe that cardboard box filled with old tech that every gamer has.

5 out of 5 eggsnice mouse

Pros: Not as sensitive as my Logitech laser mouse on my back up pc. The mouse handles well and works fine with Windows 8.1 pro. Gaming is great on it and the price is also great compared to others.

Cons: Not really a con, just have to get used to the forward button on the right side of the mouse as opposed to having the forward and back button on the left side when comparing it to my Logitech laser mouse.

Other Thoughts: Great price and works very well with Windows 8.1 and does a fine job at gaming.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Very little

Cons: I don't know why they chose the word "comfort" to describe this mouse. It's huge and fat and cantankerous. It's like trying to mouse with a baseball. Not comfortable at all. And I don't know what they did wheel, but it is glitchy as hell. You can set the scroll speed in the settings, but if you make it too slow it doesn't know what to do with slight adjustments. If you want to just click down a little bit on a page, it will not move at all, or even sometime scroll back up for some reason. You have to give it a good whirl to get it to actually go down, and then of course, it scrolls more than you wanted. Not even remotely precise, and legitimately infuriating.

Other Thoughts: Microsoft used to make the worlds most perfect mouse. The intellimouse optical. A stable seller for over a decade. which is an unprecedented amount of time for a peice of computer hardware to still be marketable. All they needed to do was increase the DPI on it and it would have kept going strong. But instead they ceased production and replaced it with this abomination. My suggestion, get one while you still can and if it breaks, get someone to repair it.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Works as a mouse should. Drivers are available on linux as well.

Cons: REALLY SQUEAKY MOUSE CLICKS. My left click is so squeaky and loud. Kind of getting annoying. Seriously considered returning it.

3 out of 5 eggsKnown issue with KVMs

Pros: Comfortable. BlueTrack Technology.

Cons: Doesn't work with most KVM's. Especially if it's Windows 7. Known Microsoft hardware issue.

Other Thoughts: Really want to like this mouse. . It replaced a trusty Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 that finally wore out but it won't work with my Belkin or Raritan KVMs. Pass on this if you use it with a KVM.
