5 out of 5 eggsValue, Durable, Bluetrack. Worth It.

Pros: Cheap.
Big mouse for bigger hands. I bought the 4,000 and pfft thing's so small I can barely tell it's there. This mouse has some meat on it. ;)
BlueTrack is freakin sweet, tracks nearly everything in my house. My forehead, my granite counter top desk, a mouse pad, plastic, clean polished wood, clean glass... etc.

Cons: The soft padding stuff on the scroll wheel and the sides will start to flake off and fall apart with excessive use. I just completely took it off.

Other Thoughts: This one I have is years old, just bought another because I love this mouse and want it for the new PC I bought here on NewEgg too. I have gamed on it for hours and hours and hours so if you're not gaming this mouse will last you a LONG time. I've had mine for 2+ years and it's still working perfectly with daily heavy usage... and a few (hundred) tosses across the room. heh

2 out of 5 eggsGood Mouse, Bad Windows 8 Performance

Pros: Great ergonomics, very smooth (at times, see below), easy to configure, feels solid, good battery life.

Cons: The only complaint I have is a major one, and the reason I'm replacing it. At times, the mouse lag is so bad it's almost unusable. In games, it is unusable. I've researched why it does this and have found others with the same problem, but so far no solution. Latest drivers, back-revving, etc. does not help. It's not a signal issue. It just lags while reading the mouse input.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what it advertises

Pros: Being a rather intense cyber geek, I take pride in my gear and that which I use to build systems for others. I have been a fan of this mouse series since the 3000 series. It is simple, comfortable and really does work on nearly any surface. What more could you ask for?
Microsoft gets a bad rap for a lot of things it produces (mainly due to the catastrophes that were Windows 95 and Vista). However, their peripherals have always been tried and true.
If you are looking for a simple mouse that will do what you want on most surfaces, this one will definitely fit the bill. And yes, the batteries last as long as advertised...there are always exceptions where an item may have squeezed through QA, but I have not had one so far.

Cons: None. For the everyday average user, it does as needed. This is part of a build for a family member, so I am not going to buy junk.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat tracking

Pros: I've used a number of other wireless mice, but this one tracks better than the rest. The movements are more smooth and precise than the equivalent Logitech mice. It also has a soft rubber feel to it.

Cons: If the 2.4 GHz transmitter fails, then there is no replacement from Microsoft. I had one fail after getting a fair amount of pressure applied to it while inserted in the USB slot. The USB connector begins to wiggle and separate from the tiny plastic housing. Eventually, it no longer communicates.

5 out of 5 eggsHope They Keep Making These

Pros: Big Enough (see my other review)

Cons: Ditto

Other Thoughts: Finally, after a tremendous amount of use, I wore my first one's wheel out enough that scrolling was erratic, so promptly ordered another. Incidentally, you can usually correct scrolling wheel issues by blowing that cavity with compressed air. It often is dander, lint, and what-not obstructing the optical signal to the wheel.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Bad, Except ...

Pros: It's wireless! Never had a wireless mouse before and it's good to be untethered.

Cons: My #1 complaint with this mouse is there's no push-wheel scroll feature. My old mouse (MS Intellimouse Optical) could smoothly scroll through pages while pressing and holding the scroll wheel. I don't know if I got a defective mouse or what, but now I can only scroll by rotating the wheel. Pressing the wheel does little more than show me the webpages I have open in a small window. If I'd have known there was no wheel-press scrolling function, I never would have gotten this mouse.

It's also a bit chunky. If you have big hands, you'll love this mouse. Otherwise, it took me a little getting used to.

Other Thoughts: If you have big hands and won't miss wheel-press scrolling, this is a great mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsJust got it and thanks Newegg for having it!

Pros: Plugged it in and it worked. Control is great, feel of the rodent is great, after installing the software the buttons perform flawlessly. How did I every live with a $10 wired mouse. The wife is happy because it is one less wire she has to look at. The precision adjustments are better than the old wired mouse. It is big like the old mice and feels good in my hand(I am a man). The clicks feel like the old mice of 10 years ago which is good.

Cons: I wish I didn't have to go to Microsoft to download the software to make it work in Win XP. That was 5 minutes of my time but an install disk would have taken that or more time. I wish it worked in Win XP 64bit

Other Thoughts: Like it so much I am buying 2 more for another Win XP box I built and one for a Win 7 32bit box I built a couple years ago. Microsoft, don't stop making this mouse

5 out of 5 eggsI never used better mouse for DESKTOP PC

Pros: It is very stable mouse on the desk. I mean you do not need every second care about your hand to support the mouse in the position that YOU (: not mouse :) want.
It is NOT a mobile mouse because it has a pretty big size and weight (two AA batteries add extra weight).
The size is 115x70x38 mm. It is very convenient for my not small palm.
The mouse has a very good Microsoft support with a lot of special functions for the buttons.
The distance from my mouse to the USB port is 2 m and I never has any connection problem.

Cons: I prefer a little bit more stronger pushing on the left/right buttons.

Other Thoughts: There is a minus of the half egg for the easy pushing buttons that not reflected in the overall rating.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable

Pros: Great mouse with great features. Scroll wheel with click and tilt. Forward/back buttons.

I have large hands so the full sized nature of this mouse is very comfortable for me.

Blue track technology works well even for gaming with FPS and others where sensitivity/accuracy is a must.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have had this mouse for well over 5 years and it has been in the backpack going back and forth to and from classes in college. Used to be used with my laptop and has since been repurposed as a work mouse. I use it every day and it still works like the day I bought it. Cant beat it for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for Larger Hands

Pros: - Full-sized mouse for my large hands.
- Good tracking.
- Back and forward buttons.
- Decent battery life in office environment (3-4 months).

Cons: - Smooth scroll wheel: This bothers me the most. Not only do I miss the click feeling, I often accidentally scroll because there is nothing to stop it.
- Off switch is triggered by holstering the receiver dongle, which takes extra effort if you are using this in an office environment (i.e., not packing it up every day). Battery life doesn't seem to be adversely affected, though.

Other Thoughts: Researching mice size was close to impossible because some manufacturers don't publish their dimensions and local stores don't carry all of the brands.

I wouldn't say I have giant hands, but using a mouse that is too small or slender is difficult for me and that seems to be only kind anyone makes in the low- to mid-cost wireless range. If you want a large mouse most of the choices are expensive gaming mice.

I would still prefer a slightly wider mouse but this one is a nice compromise between size and price, despite the highly aggravating scroll wheel.
