Very Poor
- Pros: Look innovative
Volume Control Lots of alternate fittings
- Cons: Causes pain when fitted for good sound.
Never sounds true to the music, no bass, low quality. Music sounds as if it is being played from a radio station with poor signal strength.
- Other Thoughts: I expected much more from sennheiser
Good sound, but can be a hassle to own
- Pros: These thing sound pretty good. Some of the bass is lost if they aren't positioned right, but beyond that, I never really had any complaints about the sound. They sound much better than the ones I bought to replace them.
- Cons: They will fall apart. They will fall apart as if by some cruel magic. They will fall apart like they WANT to fall apart. There are pieces of these things scattered around my home and work place, and I find them every now and again, if I'm lucky. The outer colored plate will probably be gone within a week, but those aren't really important. If you lose the little stay-in-your-ear disks, which you will, they will not stay in your ear if you move your head at all. If the little rubber band around the earbud jumps ship, which it will, they are really uncomfortable. I used superglue to try to keep all these things in their right place, but lo, the parts escaped none the less.
- Other Thoughts: If these things could stay put without so many parts, they would be awesome. If your usage is like mine, you will get about a year of solid use out of these bad boys. but then, you will have to consider buying new headphones to replace a pair that still work perfectly well, if you look past the part where they are a real hassle to wear.
Terrible Build Quality
- Pros: Good sound quality, fairly secure fit
- Cons: Terrible build quality, terrible design
- Other Thoughts: For a pair of relatively inexpensive earbuds, I really enjoyed the clear tones and great bass on these earbuds. The unique fit was odd at first, but it proved its worth over thousands of hours of running.
That being said, these are terrible earphones! Why? They are just not meant to hold up to the long run. Let me explain. My first pair saw the ear pieces fall apart piece by piece, with no hope of any home repair. Sweat, no matter how modest, dissolved the glue for the components and they could not stay together. Sennheiser agreed to replace the earbuds with a new pair, rather then fix them under their two year warranty. The new pair began to suffer the same fate, with individual pieces breaking off, but, to my astonishment, were even worse then the first pair. Wiring in the main cord came un-done and disconnected from the 3.5 mm plug, silencing the right ear bud. I sent them back and received the MX65, but I'm leery of using them, with only five months to go on the original warrant
