Headsets can be so liberating: you get to use both hands again, you don't have to tuck the handset under your chin . . . so, a wireless headset is even more liberating! You can be up to 300 feet away from your desk and still receive and end calls as if you were right there.
This 900 MHz system helps keep your conversations secure, and the 8 hours of talk time mean that you can go an entire shift without charging or swapping batteries. Fast charge times (1.5 hours for 80% charge; three hours for 100%) nicely complement the noise-canceling microphone, the ability to control volume or even mute the mike, and the headset can be worn three different ways: over the ear, over the head, or behind the head (with an optional neckband).
Whether you're a hands-on supervisor or your job simply won't let you stay at your desk, this headset can free you to be where you need to be and still stay close to the phone. Don't miss out!

Excellent wireless solution for the office
- Pros: I'm no longer tied down to my desk by a pesky wired headset. I've been working in a small call center for about 3 years now, and for two of those years I was anchored by a coiled wire headset. No more! I can walk to the printer, to the fax machine, to the kitchen, and to the bathroom without accidentally stepping on a chord and yanking my head.
This headset comes with various ear/head attachments. Two over-head attachments and two over-ear attachements. The small and large ear attachments are both uncomfortable, they'll surely pinch your ears and leave you aching in less than a hour of use. I favor the cushioned over-head attachment.
Reaches it's 8-hour charge quickly and only once managed to run out of batteries during use (did not secure it on the dock).
Includes several volume control features which I used when people are yelling at me.
Also has a neat motor "thing" to use if you have a handset. When you answer, the motor lifts the handset to pick up the line.
- Cons: Uncomfortable over-ear pieces. The dock is somewhat bulky. Would be a problem if you don't have a lot of real estate.
I occasionally get a complaint of people hearing an echo and I have to admit that I can hear an echo when I talk to other service reps with this headset. Maybe they have the volume too high.
- Other Thoughts: Looks sleek!
Great Wireless Headset
- Pros: I can only echo the superlatives given by prior reviewers. Battery life , audio quality, effective range, ect ect. All win.
- Cons: It's true that it takes some adjustment time to make the headset fit comfortably, but that's always the case with any kind of headset. Getting a good resting spot on my ear was suprisingly quick.
- Other Thoughts: I work customer service, and there's no job more demanding on a piece of phone equipment than taking calls 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I love the freedom of not being leashed to my desk, being able to walk to other people's desks while I'm on calls, or going to talk to someone without signing out of my workstation.

Comfortable and Quality Sound
- Pros: A wide selection of ways to wear making it one of the most comfortable headsets I've ever used. I use the over-the-head bracket so that the device never actually touches my ear. Can wear it all day long. The sound quality of this device is bar-none the best. And, the battery seems to last forever.
- Cons: Getting the sound correct takes some work. There are 5 different sets of switches laid out around the device (they should have all been in the same place!) and you MUST test each setting to find the one that works best with your phone. All phones are different in the types of devices they connect with, that's the reason for these settings, and you will hear echos and buzzing unless you take the time to set this device up correctly.
- Other Thoughts: This question is asked a lot: What's the difference between the CS55 and the less expensive CS50...
From the Plantronics Web site:
The headsets look identical and operate in the same way. However, they operate on different frequencies. The CS50 operates at 900 MHz and the CS55 operates at 1.9 GHz. The CS55 is specifically designed not to interfere with other wireless office products.
Other differences are the talk and standby times. The CS50 battery provides up to 8 hours of talk time and 40 hours of standby time, while the CS55 battery provides up to 10 hours of talk time and 50 hours of standby time.
