2 out of 5 eggsNo low end

Pros: The noise cancelling works pretty well which is why I gave these 2 eggs. The mid and high end sound ok but is tinny.

Cons: After trying these out in multiple devices and listening to different types of classical and rock music I was very disappointed with the low end. It just doesn't exist. I'm not after bounce my brain around type of bass, but you need something there to support the structure of the music and it was completely lacking.

Other Thoughts: I currently own Sennheiser HD 555 which sound great but they are open back headphones and don't cut the room noise at all. I was hoping moving up to a better model would have the same or better sound quality but I was really disappointed with these.

5 out of 5 eggsYou want these, not Beats.

Pros: High quality sound across all frequencies. Not just a lot of bass like some companies make for the new generation. These also have a response from 8-28000 Hz, which is just way beyond what others are doing. These may be better than Bose at noise suppression, but they definitely beat Bose at quality, even when in passive mode and the noise suppression turned off.

Cons: If you don't intend on using these for listening, and only for noise canceling, Bose may win in that category. These need to have music going through them to really make them shine.

Other Thoughts: These headphones are quite awesome. I came very close to buying Beats by Dr. Dre from Monster Cable. I might've bought them had I not tried them at a Best Buy. The Beats just sounded bad. Maybe a rapper would think they sound good, but this professional sound engineer says otherwise. I mean, who do you think is better at making headphones? An old rapper and a cable company with bad business practices (google it), or a team of German sound technicians?

Pros: Very Very nice noise canceling. I live in the city and i always here cars and what not. These make it like im in the country again no noise! I can smoke my cigars in peace! Plus very good audio quality! must buy!

Cons: I have no cons!

Other Thoughts: Now that there about half in price than they were i would suggest you buy!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Headphone!!

Pros: - Very high fidelity
- Noise canceling is exceptional (beats Bose without question!!!)
- Sturdy construction/finish

Cons: - Carrying case fits the headphones perfectly, but there isn't room for anything else.
- Noise canceling works so well that it seems to muffle audio output.

Other Thoughts: I sought to find a suitable upgrade/replacement for my Bose QC2s. After a ton of research I came across these. Most reviewers state that the construction, noise canceling and sound quality beat the Bose older and current Bose models hands down. Having tried first hand I absolutely agree! These are literally the best headphones I have ever used. I've experimented with Bose offerings (QC2/15) and the Beats by Dre Studio HD (absolute garbage).

Fit is absolutely comfortable. Also, the bypass switch is a great added feature. I've found that is best to disable to noise canceling while listening to audio because doing so while it is engaged significantly reduces the sound quality. With that said, the playback with noise canceling on is still awesome but I prefer the added clarity with it off.

All in all this was definitely a good buy, and I have absolutely no regrets!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Headphones EVER

Pros: - Amazing sound frequency range
- Dual operation mode, active noise cancelling and passive noise cancelling
- Doubles as earmuffs in the cold Canadian winter
- Ability to hear others around you with the push of a button
- Replaceable parts

Cons: - Expensive
- Very low bass frequency is a little bit lacking

Other Thoughts: I have had these headphones for over 3 years and I have to say these are the best ones I have ever owned! Sennheiser also offers replacement parts (sort of like consumables on printers) so I was able to replace the large pads on the headphones without buying a new pair. The sound quality is amazing, there were sounds in the same songs I have been listening to for many years that I never heard before the purchase of these headphones.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible

Pros: Noise Cancelling: Astounding. Really. Amazing. Voices are naturally harder for the headphones to block out as they fluctuate so much. But constant noises, like the ridiculous noise my dual 4890 graphics cards make when cranked, are compensated for so that you barely notice them.

Comfort: I've used many circumaural headphones and have never found any as comfortable for extended periods as these. I've worn these headphones for over 7 hours straight at times and only then found the slightest discomfort.

Sound Quality: The only headphones i've ever used that have ever sounded better than these are the high end of Sennheiser's HD series (understandable) and those cost at least as much as these and don't have noise cancelling.

Cons: Cost: Yeah, but you're getting everything you payed for, every last penny's worth.

Non-Detachable 3.5mm cord: This is surprising coming from Sennheiser where most of their high end headphones have changeable cords. Not too much of a problem for me though, the cord is long enough and seems sturdy.

Other Thoughts: It's lucky my house phone lights up when it rings cause i can't hear it one bit.

5 out of 5 eggsone of the best noise cancelling headphone money can buy

Pros: has a better overall sound than its competitor (Bose QC2 and the Creative Aurvana X-fi) Very durable

Cons: almost twice the street price of the Aurvana X-fi.
