5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Sound, Longevity, comfort

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just needed to throw this out there after reading comments on the new CX300-II. I have been using a pair of the CX300 for over 7 years...on almost a daily basis and they are still rock solid. At the time, I spent around $75 and it turned out to be worth every penny. I can wear them for hours without my ears hurting. I use them in the gym, doing yard work, shoveling snow, mowing the lawn (this is the best part about the noise cancelling. I get great sound and don't have to crank them up) The sound is incredible for this price range. Having them for so many years and still being able to use them is great. If you are contemplating it, just get them. You won't be disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggspoor quality control

Pros: I've owned several sennheiser buds before, so I know the sound quality is good. I just happen to receive a defective pair.

Cons: poor quality control. could tell the moment i plugged them in something was wrong.
The left earbud speaker wasn't attached to the casing properly, so its loose and has really low volume compared to the right ear.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Pro'sumer, follow-up "End of Life" review

Pros: *(See my previous entry on this product)

addendum: They even functioned nicely as earplugs in a pinch (Moogfest 2012, forgot the custom set at home, and the CX-300II did fine (~40% reduced sound pressure, and an extra -8dB between 800-15k (so not quite flat performance, but better than deafness a'la Squarepusher)))

Cons: *(See my previous entry on this product)

Other Thoughts: After MANY years (at least 7 years) of use they finally "broke". Housing at the apex of the right angle jack. But the wiring is still intact therefore they (both L/R) still function, though delicate now. Might install them into some device or function, but they will no longer accompany me in the big mean world.

Would I buy them again? You're Gee'darn'ed tootin' I will!

4 out of 5 eggsA quality headset with an emphasis on socializing

Pros: Decent treb.
Near perfect mid ranges.
Acceptable bass.
3 sets of of different sized silicon ear buds ranging from small, medium, to large ear canals.

Cons: None, you're getting exactly what you're paying for. However the reason I give it a 4 is because they should have used a mechanism to adjust the length of each phone. The downside to that though is that it makes it more prone to getting tangled. Nevertheless, the cord works exactly as intended.

The other reason I give it 4 is because anything above a sound pressure level of 75 db (75 db should be standard practice) will cause hearing loss. These get up to 113 db, so refrain from blasting sound directly down your ear canals with these babies if you value your hearing.

Other Thoughts: Decent treb.
Near perfect mid ranges.
Acceptable bass.
3 sets of of different sized rubber

The thing to bear in mind is that this a socially targeted headset. More specifically towards nations (more prominently in Asia) that have social trends towards friends sharing one headset. Thus the reason why the right ear bud is longer so that you can easily pass it to your friend.

This may seem strange at first for those who are not comfortable with such a concept, but after awhile you won't even notice it and may even embrace it once in awhile should you decide to share your listening experience.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Worked great when they worked.

The short wire on one bud makes it easier to figure out which bud goes in which ear.

Cons: One bud stopped working within two months of light usage, so I switched to $6 buds. One working bud, so one star.

The short wire on one bud puts uneven force on it so it pops out more often.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while they worked...

Pros: Good sound quality
Affordable price

Cons: Unreliable

Other Thoughts: I've owned these ear buds for about 3 months. I was pretty happy with them until recently. The left side earbud suddenly lost about 90% of its volume. It's not dead, just completely imbalanced in power. I've confirmed that this is definitely a problem with the ear bud, not the sound source. Now that I'm overseas and unable to return the buds to newegg or get them services easily, I'm left without the quality sound I wanted. This is pretty frustrating. It should not be that hard to build reliable earbuds!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product for the Price

Pros: Exquisite sound for an earbud! Actually useful carrying pouch (no zippers or removable parts)

Cons: One Earbud is on a longer cable than the other.

Other Thoughts: The sound quality is superb. The earbuds manage to cancel out loud outside noise very well. For some reason though, they have decided to make one earbud longer than the other, as opposed to both earbuds having the same length of cord. Kinda neat, but kinda annoying at times.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was looking for

Pros: Blocks outside noise and sounds great. Fits my ear just right. I use them almost every day.

Cons: Did not like the left cord being shorter that the right but now I like it. I do not have to look at them to get the left right down.

Other Thoughts: Good mid priced ear buds.

5 out of 5 eggsBest budget earphone!

Pros: Very good sounding buds.. I had the first gen for a really long time and I finally snagged the cord one to many times and broke them. Keep in mind earbuds like a lot of speakers go through a break in period.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: To the one guy who gave this a negative review.. I can't believe you would compare cheap Skull Candy buds to these. I have the cheap skull buds and they don't sound anywhere as good as the CX300 II. If your getting a hum the problem is your source. I think you may have been jamming the skull candies so long that you think they are good.....

4 out of 5 eggsVery Pro'sumer/amature'phile quality

Pros: Very flat and true with a wee tiny bump around 1.2k. Beat-up'able for out and about and small rig field recording. Café laptop production and post clean (remembering that these aren't for final master of course).

Cons: Not PERFECTION* and never could be. The rubber for the cord and right angle 1/8" TRS feels a bit gummy but not cheap.

Other Thoughts: The CX300's are either going to be a giant step up for "civilian" to legitimate critical listener, or paletable beaters for professional ears. They can do irreparable damage to the tastes of those who've never had quality, everafter snearing at "candy" and "Dr.Ds" (sorry, but if Beats are accurate to the endorser's spec', i know wear he has hearing damage).
