2 out of 5 eggsEh.

Pros: Good sound(when the right speaker wasn't messed up).

Cons: Right speaker blown, EXTREMELY short cable length, volume control feels like cheap plastic.

Other Thoughts: I bought these a while back and they were great at the time, until I got the CX-200, which are cheaper, more durable, and have an overall better sound, I suggest those over these. Don't underestimate the cable length of these, you wouldn't expect it to be that bad, but it is and it's not worth getting a cable extender when you only need about 8in more.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Headphones

Pros: +Great sound quality:
Punchy bass, good treble, and great clarity throughout the ranges. I'm hearing details/notes in songs that I've never noticed before using cheaper headphones/speakers.
+Good build quality
+Stylish looks:
Typical of most Sennhiser products
+Plenty of accessories:
Carrying pouch, assorted earpieces, cable clip, cable winder... What more could you ask for?
+Volume control is very useful in cramped places

Cons: -Maybe prone to damage from pulling/snagging on cable, but most headphone are anyways...
-Not the best earbuds to use while running/exercising since the cord is a bit stiff and tends to make a bit of noise while moving around.

Other Thoughts: Those who say these headphones disappoint in the sound quality department need to make sure they are using the correct size earpieces and seat them in the ears properly. These need to be pushed slightly into the ear canal. When using the correct earpieces, they will create a good seal. This helps isolate the sound from the headphones and to block out your surroundings. Also, these are NOT going to make poor quality/lower bitrate MP3 files sound any better. Even the most expensive headphones will only output sound as good as the source.

On a side note, I bought these as a replacement for a set of CX 500 earbuds I lost a while back. They were great earbuds. Since the CX 500 is now discontinued and the CX 400 II is the direct replacement, I chose these. I am totally satisfied with my purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't Live Up to My Expectations

Pros: * Sennheiser Brand Name
* Huge selection of ear pieces
* Decent Audio Quality

Cons: * Ear pieces very uncomfortable
* Build quality of the wires is horrible
* Volume slider is pointless and seems cheaply made

Other Thoughts: I bought these to replace a pair of Sennheiser CX300 earphones which developed a short in one of the wires. I had assumed that this would be similar, only with better drives and a higher build quality.

I was shocked to see that the build quality is actually a bit worse -- the wires look rather vulnerable. The earpieces are also fitted differently, and less comfortable.

Still haven't fully burned these in, but the sound quality is definitely a bit clearer than the CX 300s. There *is* a decent bass response, but you have to find the correct size earbuds for your ears. The base is fairly clear and un-muddy, like most of the rest of the spectrum.

Over all these headphones aren't terrible, but they're a far cry from great. No wonder newegg is selling them for $65 instead of the MSP of $130. Even at half off I probably wouldn't buy another pair. It's worth paying an extra ~$15 to get something you really like. The Sennheiser 555s, on the other hand, are worth every penny and

3 out of 5 eggsAnother disappointment from sennheiser

Pros: Sennheiser did everything right except for the sound quality.

-> The chord does not stick
-> GREAT carrying case that's tiny and fits easy in any pocket. Best carrying case I've ever seen to be bundled with headphones; I'll keep the case for a long time.
-> Optional shirt clip
-> More extra ear buds than I could ever imagine in all different sizes

Cons: -> Chord is a tad shorter than most.

-> As usual, sennheiser disappoints with low bass response and bad top volume

Other Thoughts: I really try and judge every sennheiser product from their flagship 280HD pro, my favorite sealed cans under $200.

Unfortunately all their other products lack bass response and the warmth that audiophiles demand.

Would recommend getting the Klipsche Image s4's.
