5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Sound Quality

Pros: Great headphones. I have bought 6+ over the ear headphones from Newegg in the past couple years and these are the best. The corded cable is also a nice bonus.

Cons: No cons

5 out of 5 eggsThey Get BETTER with time!

Pros: Comfortable.

Sound Fidelity is superb when pushed by a worthy device and clean audio files.

You can literally get lost in what you are doing with these on.

Gaming with a Sounblaster Zx on these cans is almost like cheating.

Unlike the more expensive line these do not require you to buy an expensive amp to run them.

Unless you are nearly deaf, these will produce more than enough volume.

They get better the longer you use them.

Cons: Some folks give bad reviews on these, yet you will not find a better set of cans within this price range.

Other Thoughts: Bought these cans for my son's birthday last year. He listens to music, plays online games, watches videos, you name it, with these on his head. Sometimes it is annoying trying to get his attention (for dinner or trying to set up an online collaboration in a game) because with these on you are immersed in what you are doing, the outside world just disappears.

So I asked him if he was going to need a new pair of headphones (was thinking for his birthday again next month) and he said something like "Are you kidding? I JUST got these broken in!" Amazed, I stuck them on my head and sure enough, they sound better and are WAY more comfortable than when they were new!

So, I bought myself a pair last week. Now I just can't wait till mine are broken in too... seriously, they seem a bit tight (apparently for the first few months of usage) but the sound has already improved noticeably (left them running at mid volume overnight). My son's set is more comfortable by far (they are identical but his are broken in), which he says it takes TIME to get them there.

If you want a superb set of cans that are built to need a break-in period and will last you for years of awesome audio enjoyment, then these are for you.

If you are impatient and want something expensive that will not require a break in (and will thus wear out soon) then you might not want these (and will probably give them a bad review).

If you are serious about audio in any way, do yourself a favor:

For a PC you want something equivalent to a SoundBlaster Zx (not any kind of onboard audio folks). The new SoundBlaster is nice because you can switch between speakers and headphones with a mouse click, and just leave your headphones plugged in all the time.

For audio playback the MINIMUM is 256Kb/s for MP3's.

And, of course, a set of Senheiser HD Pro cans!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Headphones

Pros: Fantastic sound
Comfortable Fit once adjusted (for me anyways)
Seem to be built fairly sturdy
Quality cord

Cons: None that I can see

Other Thoughts: I found them tight at first but after adjusting them and wearing them for a couple of times I wouldn't want another set of headphones. I find they block external sound really well, are comfortable (for me) and have great sound quality. The cord on it is a good length and of pretty good quality. I purchased a second set for my remote PC. Been using them for a while now and I'm happy with them.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Functioning headphones, long cord

Cons: Uncomfortable, too tight on my head, hurts to wear them for more than a few minutes

Woefully inferior bass and overall sound compared to my old Sennheisers

Other Thoughts: I bought these to replace a dying pair of Sennheiser HD 428s and I am greatly disappointed in this product. I'm a big Sennheiser fan and have used their products exclusively for years now but this pair of headphones really let me down. While the less expensive HD 428s were comfortable and provided excellent sound, particularly bass, the HD 280 is shockingly subpar. It sounds like the speakers are those cheap, tinny speakers you get in headphones from the dollar store. Well, not THAT bad, but it's closer to that than the excellent sound quality I would expect from Sennheiser. These headphones fit too tightly around my head, pinching in at both sides, making it uncomfortable to wear them for extended periods of time. I will just buy another pair of HD 428s and probably never wear these HD 280s again.

5 out of 5 eggsMoney well spent

Pros: well balanced sound
punchy bass
detailed but not fatiguing treble
little coloring

comfortable compared to old productions

Cons: narrow soundstage (but not bad for a closed monitor)

Other Thoughts: I bought the same model more than 10 years ago but sold it afterwards, not because it sounded bad, but only because the clamping force was too much to bear. After 10 years, owning more than 10 mid/high level IEMs and headphones, I decided to give it another try. I am glad I did!

If you see it on sale for $60 or less, do not hesitate to grab one.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!!!!

Pros: Extremely comfortable. Fit around my ear completely and snugly. Great frequency response. Very long cord

Cons: Cord does not detach from headphones. This is not even really a con, just an observation. As long as I don't destroy the cord I will be just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: Sounds Great. Very Comfortable. Great Price.

Cons: Not stylish large profile head band.

Other Thoughts: I use this at my desk, so looks don't matter.

Not as comfortable as my buddy's 300 dollar headphones, but I didn't want to pay 300.

4 out of 5 eggsTypical Sennheiser quality

Pros: Filling-rattling bass, clear highs, great sound stage, tight fit, Sennheiser quality finish.

Cons: Some tinniness. Can become uncomfortable if you wear glasses.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a decent pair of closed-ear headphones under 100 bucks and after looking at several decided on Sennheiser based on past performance with their products. The first thing I listened to was an MP3 of the Rolling Stones, "Midnight Rambler," from "Get Yer Ya-Yas out." Right away I noticed I could hear the placement of the hoots and hollers from the crowd before the Stones begin playing, as if I was standing among the concert-goers. These phones have great 3D imaging (which is also good for movies). The bass is deep, the highs crisp though there is a bit of tinniness. These phones create a tight seal around your ears blocking out external noises, but due to the cushiness of the ear pads are comfortable. However, (as I said) glass frames will be pushed into your head likely causing discomfort after an extended period.

3 out of 5 eggsThey're okay...

Pros: Sounds great with an amp/receiver.

Cons: Ear cushions are cheap. Mine's already breaking! Maybe it's just my big ears since I did have to stretch them to fit. My ears start hurting after a couple hours.

Other Thoughts: I like it overall but I don't like the small tight cushions!

2 out of 5 eggsA disappointment

Pros: Great sound quality when used on my stereo, big step up in volume, headset sound characteristics controls. Sale price was excellent

Cons: Seem to be poorly insulated, a constant background crackling effect whenever I use them on either of my two computers. Loud enough to kill the advantages listed above. The headset itself is very uncomfortable, adjustments area very minimal, the things plain hurt after an hour on my head

Other Thoughts: I expected better from the name brand When I use it on the stereo receiver the interference is subdued but hooked up to either my desktop or laptop computers there is a solid, persistent electronic interference which ruins the listening experience.
