Sennheiser's PX100 are the epitome of high-quality portable headphones. These over the head, supra-aural headphones can collapse into a rugged transport for slipping into a shirt pocket.
Once they're locked open they have an extended dynamic range of 15Hz to 27kHz with less than 0.1%THD. They have an oxygen free copper cable to minimize signal loss between the player and the “Duofol” diaphragms. Those combined with the open design deliver a warm, high resolution sound.

Pros: I like to review a product at least a month after I buy my products so that people get a better feel for a slightly longer-term review than one that is written only a week or so. Several audio fanatics rated these headphones as some of the best portables you can get. I think they were right on target! I've tested these at my desktop and with my CD player and have been more than happy with the sound quality that comes through them. I wanted the "open" type so I could get a more natural sound and that's exactly what I got. Don't have these on when you are in the library though, others WILL hear your music! =) I also enjoyed the fold-down design and the case that it comes with for portable storage away from my messy desktop. I also rather liked the short 2 ft cording because now I don't have too much extra cording when I am on the go. Oh yes, and they are quite comfortable too for usuage by the hour.
--Small --Foldable --Excellent sound quality --Very comfortable for long-term usa
Cons: Let me think here. I guess I wish they "felt" a little more sturdier. I'm worried they will break on my someday! The lack of a volume knob on the side would have been nice as with my old headset. Perhaps a bit lacking bass too and they are also corded on both sides. I would have prefered a single-sided cord. Sometimes they slide off too easily too.
Other Thoughts: Really I feel the pros heavily outweight the cons on this product! I must have searched for about a month before I decided on these headphones. I feel safe knowing that I have a two-year warranty with Senn. on this product, that's better than many companies with the standard one year. Newegg got the prodcut to me a day earlier, but they have always got my stuff early or on time as has UPS.
If you're looking for an pair of "open" headphones with natural, crystal-clear sound from a respectful company in the industry for either home or on the go use and aren't going to be in the library (which in that case, try a "closed" model), be sure to pick these up! They're one of the best home and mobile products for the music lover on the market right now I feel and they have a fairly good price going for them which Newegg has better than the rest!

Excellent sound quality, average durability

Pros: The sound quality of these headphones was excellent. I felt like I got much more for the price than I should have. I got spoiled by the loud, apparent bass and the clear highs that any other headphone in this price range does not provide. Listening to other headphones gives me the impression that I am listening to AM radios now.
Cons: The headphones are held together by a thin metal strip and are just a little too easy to bend. This lack of durability came back to haunt me when one day I lost sound in the left ear. This happens a lot on much cheaper headphones to me, but I was disappointed to have this happen to my "quality", relatively pricey Sennheisers. I was using them on the go, but these are marketed as being "portable" headphones.
I must also mention that at semi-loud volumes, everyone around you hears your music as loudly as you do. There is no privacy and you come off as being inconsiderate. Other headphones must be turned up much louder for the sound to leak as much. This also means that you can hear the outside noise mixing in with your music as well. When they say these headphones are "open", that means there is nothing on the other side of the transducers besides foam and a plastic car tire imitation. The sound that goes in your ear also goes out the other end.
Other Thoughts: The sound quality was certainly the pro here. Before purchasing these, weigh in the lack of durability and the fact that everyone else can hear your music.

Pros: -Incredible sound mids, highs, and bass -Good portability -Excellent sound separation (makes stereo sound more stereo sounding) -Doesn't look like a good pair of headphones so less chance of theft -Doesn't look like Koss Porto-Pro super-nerd 80s headphones but supposedly sound rivals those -Because they are open-air, you can hear outside noises making these phones safer to use walking around NYC streets.
Cons: -Folding design a bit weird -Case is so difficult to use, don't bother -It's possible the cushioning can come off and then you'll need to buy replacement cushioning -Leaks sound, be careful when listening to your Jonas Brothers collection... people will know -No noise dampening or noise reduction
Other Thoughts: The sound blew me away on these relatively inexpensive headphones. I was looking for the best portable headphones that weren't earphones and not disgustingly ugly. Therefore I had to dismiss the Koss Porto Pro. The bass is phenomenal without being overpowering. The highs are clear and nice. It seems like I can definitely hear a difference between 128kbps and 192kbps MP3s which did not sound any different on cheaper headphones.
I bought these 4 times. First time it was me who ended up crunching them up in my bag under weight of books and generally mis-using them. Totally my fault, not because its made poorly. Second time I bought them was a replacement for my first ones. Price for some reason was cheaper in the UK. Third time I bought them was for my girlfriend who loved my ones. The fourth time I bought them was for my mother who also loved these.
So three people love these headphones, 2 women and 1 man. The headphones also rated very highly on audiophile sites.
