1 out of 5 eggsNewegg lied

Pros: -Headphones sound great, good build quality, break in period isn't long (approx 40 hrs).

-The quality is amazing for what I paid ($60).

Cons: -3.5mm adapter has a very thick body, so plugging it in to headphone jacks on computers are often difficult because if they are recessed AT ALL it will be nearly impossible to get a full connection.

Other Thoughts: One of the main reasons why I bought these cans was to receive the free earbuds with the mail-in form since I was originally looking for just ear buds. Since I could spend only $60 for quality headphones AND quality earbuds, I went for it. I've completed dozens of rebate forms and ALWAYS follow directions exactly, so I mailed in the form with the UPC and everything. After a few days I received an email from RapidRebates saying I could check my status. When I did, they told me these headphones were NOT valid for headphones of the month. I completed my mail-in form and sent it in early March, and there is still time to send in the form until the end of April. Since I already sent my UPC and they have it, I cannot send in another form. Because the earbuds were equally as important to me as the headphones, I'm extremely disappointed in Newegg's false advertising and have never experienced this before. I hope no one else bought these counting on the earbud deal being real.

5 out of 5 eggsNot quite 5*, but 4 seems too low

Pros: Hands down the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. Sounds good. They also seem durable.

Cons: Bass needs a bit of a boost, but sounds great other than that.

Other Thoughts: The 6.3mm plug is the natural plug, and the 3.5 is the adapter. Kind of wish it was the opposite.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: These hit every range possible. The mids and highs are fantastic quality. The bass is really good. Really Pleased the 60$ spent on these head phones. The are really comfortable, I wore them for a 6 hour plane ride and were totally fine. Happy Customer.

Other Thoughts: Happy Customer of Newegg and Sennheiser

4 out of 5 eggsGood as the price

Pros: Good sound quality and long enough cable.

Cons: it is too big compared with my BOSE AE2. it is kind of uncomfortable when lay down with it.

Other Thoughts: To the price of $54.95, the sound quality is way better than I was expecting. Good investment.

4 out of 5 eggsSet my expectations too high

Pros: They sound pretty good (see below); comfortable; sturdy.

Cons: I bought these headphones based on the excellent reviews. I was expecting too much I think because the treble could be a little crisper, and the bass a bit punchier.

Other Thoughts: I like these headphones and would recommend them but don't expect a steal here.

5 out of 5 eggsDurable, Awesome Quality. Longgg Cord.

Pros: I've had these for somewhere around 3 years now and have never had any problems with the cans or build quality.

They sound great. I've used them daily with an X-Fi, HTC Hero, and laptops and they sound great all around.

The sound is very balanced with very crisp highs and warm lows. They are definitely a step above the Skullcandy's you see everyone else jocking so hard. Unless you want banging bass drowning out the highs/mids.

I have played every kind of music through these headphones and they shine in all areas from hip-hop to punk to hardstyle and electronica.
I played CSS and other FPS games with these and they help tremendously. Coming from iCEMAT 'gaming headphones' (yea I was gullible to the 'gaming gear' in 2007) these are definitely better. Both in sound quality and build quality.

The directional soundscape from these headphones is extremely accurate.

Cons: The cord is extremely long. Kind of a pain when you want to wear them with an iPod on a plane or some small devices.

The connector is very big as it goes from 6.3mm to the 3.5mm using an adapter. Could be pretty annoying if you're trying to use with smaller devices or a laptop.

I recently had to replace the three year old adapter because it had become scuffed and bent from constant unplugging and plugging into things.

These are not bad in any regard. Just depends on your tolerance and your typical usage of the headphones.

Other Thoughts: My girlfriend has some HD555's, these are very comparable. If you compare these with an X-Fi to the HD555's on onboard sound then these are the clear winner.

A head to head comparison makes things a little more complicated, but the HD555's are a better headphone by a little. (hence the numbering difference.)

Don't get these if you want complete isolation. These do let some sound in from the outside. In a quiet/moderate noise room, they isolate relatively well. I feel that the 555's isolate better.

But I think that for what I've used these for, they have served great!

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome sound, long chord

Pros: Sound quality for the price is outstanding. I paid just about the same price for a pair of Skull Candy cans and they can't compare to these. They are very, very comfortable and I can wear them all day with no fatigue. Delicious bass and mids.

Cons: The chord is very, very long. I have to keep it wrapped with a tie, but it's just an annoyance.

More annoying is the 5 inch plug (incl. adapter) when I plug into my laptop or PC jack. And the adapter is NOT iphone friendly, which is a bummer, but I'm not going to walk around with these all that much since they're open so it doesn't matter, just annoying. The long plug is way more annoying when using a laptop on my lap in a recliner. I have to be careful so that I don't bend it.

Other Thoughts: I debated between these and the 428 and ended up getting these because the reviews said the sound quality was better. I really wanted the isolation that a closed can offers, but in the end I didn't want the thin chord and I didn't want to sacrifice quality like I did with my Skull Candies (which ended up breaking... so flimsy).

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the leakage wasn't all that bad. I can be in the living room with the TV on at normal volume and not have to drown out the sound by turning up my volume obscenely loud. The TV can drown out the leakage from the earphones at a reasonable volume also. The only time people found the leakage annoying was when they were in the room listening to music while I had these on.

If you're going for noise isolation, these are really not the best choice. The sound is incredible for the price, however and they will be most excellent in my office.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: At 30 dollars, these headphones can't be beat. I bought these things YEARS ago, like in 2003 or 2004, and they lasted until a few months ago, and that was because I mistreated them. They are comfortable, durable, and most importantly, they sound good.

Cons: At 30 dollars, none. At 70, it might be worth paying the extra 30 to get the 555's.

4 out of 5 eggsSound leakage?

Pros: Amazing sound quality. This is my first set of good headphones that I've ever owned. It gave me a whole new perspective on the music that I listen to.

Cons: It seems that they are leaking A LOT of sound to the outside. From another person's point of view, it seems like I'm listening to the music VERY loudly, but the music I'm hearing is not much louder than what other people close to me are hearing.

Other Thoughts: For private home use, these would be an great first step into the realm of real audio... but as far as listening to music in the workplace, stick with something that produces a little bit less noise.
