5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: These things have lasted me 6(!!) years with only a few small cracks in the plastic that only took some tape to fix. As far as sound quality they sound as good 6 years later as they did the first day I got them. The fact that these things last so long should say a lot.

Cons: None. You get what you pay for and more.

4 out of 5 eggsReview from long-time user

Pros: For the price, the sound quality you get from these sennies is incredible. Open design gives a more accurate open soundstage. Sure, you don't mute the world and the world can hear you too, but closed designs muddy the sound and bass becomes exaggerated beyond what's intended.

Cons: Aside from the grills on the sides, everything is plastic. It's been a few years of good use, but the earcups are starting to crack near the headband extenders.

Other Thoughts: As a not-quite-audiophile, Sennheiser hovers in that perfect space between top-shelf and performance grade. It's a premium product, more expensive than some, but cheap enough to be worth the money FOR SURE.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These headphones sounds, and looks amazing, relatively comfortable, and the cord is pretty long.

Cons: Though I love these headphones, I have a few complaints too. As some other people said, the silver plastic splits open, and overtime the crack only gets bigger.
Secondly, the earpads get very dusty and are difficult to clean.
Lastly, maybe it's just me, but after wearing it for an hour or so, the headphones starts hurting me because there's something with the design that's irritating my eat.

Other Thoughts: I've owned these headphones for three years now.

1 out of 5 eggswas awesome... at first

Pros: good sound and size

Cons: some portions cheap/weak

Other Thoughts: was a great pair of headphones at first. but with use, cracks appeared on both sides in the silver plastic area where the head part connects to each ear part. The plastic just doesnt seem heavy duty enough to hold up over time. The cracks just get bigger until the whole side splits. For the price I expect better!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've had the headphones for over 4 years now and haven't even thought of purchasing a new headset. They are so comfortable that I never really feel them on my head, its kind of like a pillow wrapped around your ears. Sound quality is incredible - I can't keep myself unbanned from counter-strike servers because I can hear people running from their spawn!

Cons: I recently had to purchase another 3.5mm adapter because my dog some how bent the stock adapter running past my computer. I had to remove a few stars from my dog, but this product stays at a 5.

5 out of 5 eggsI didn't even know what I was missing

Pros: My entire life I've only ever owned speakers for all of my electronic equipment. Before purchasing these headphones the only other headphones I had ever used were the default iPod ones--is that weird? Anyway, this incredible technology changed my life. I listen to music completely differently now thanks to these headphones; it's pretty amazing how much more awesome chilling out to some jams is now--peanut butter & jelly sandwich in hand (don't forget the milk!). The bass sounds full and deep, neither overpowering nor lacking. The higher frequencies sound crisp and rich, not shrill or empty. Everything just sounds better, in every way.

Whenever I hear a new song without these headphones and then listen to it again with them, I hear new things. It's pretty cool. Seriously get these or any other high quality headphones if you're into music at all. It'll blow your sweet mind, especially if you've never listened to music with a high fidelity audio system.

Cons: I can't wear them 24/7. That would be unrealistic--it would be difficult to shower with them on, and the water would surely damage them. I wish I could experience every new song for the first time with these things.

They also make you look kind of 'tarded when you're wearing them.

Other Thoughts: I've sat on them, dropped them, slept on them, stepped on them, and scratched them many many times and they aren't even close to showing signs of weakness.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headphones!

Pros: They are very lightweight and the sounds is excellent. The bass sounds great but is not very strong, so if you are looking for a set of headphones with heavy bass look else where. they are extremely comfortable and i wear them for 5 hours at a time and sometimes forget they are on my head.

Cons: If you are looking for a set of headphones for traveling i would not buy these. They have what Sennheiser calls an "Open Back" which allows sound to come out of the sides of the headphones so people next to you can easily hear what you are listening to. plug in for a normal 1/4" headphone jack is quite large and may be annoying for people who want to use with a MP3 player.

Other Thoughts: They are great headphones for home use like gaming or music. but because of the "Open Back" design i would not reccomend them for traveling.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy them before they are sold out!

Pros: These headphones. Are. Really. Comfortable. After the first few minutes, you are not even bothered by them. They sound amazing. Things will sound more clear, defined, all at a lower volume. Open headphones also make it sound even better. Don't be worried about burn it. They sound ridiculously good right out of the box. Hard to believe they could get better than this. If "leaking sound" and "open-backed" makes you worried, don't let it. By the time other people can hear it, it's too loud for listening( unless it's absolutely silent in the room), in which case they might here it, but only a little bit. VERY little. Impedance is low enough to be played off a portable device with still super sound quality.

Cons: For 90 dollars, it makes me feel like a thief. The fact that you need the adapter to play it from and iPod or anything else 3.5mm is not a problem at all. It will fit into your device fine, and it will hold in there. Trust me, it won't bother you at all. Over-exaggerated problem. They are also discontinued, replaced by the 558.

Other Thoughts: The are discontinued. I bought these on 3/8/2011, and the next morning, they were out of stock. Not "sold out", out of stock. I don't Newegg will get anymore. I think I got the last pair they had. =P If you need amazing headphones for less than 100$, buy these. A "certain other" - starts with an A - online company still carries them for 85$. Amazing shipping, got here on time in perfect condition. First buy from Newegg, now I see why they are loved so much.
