Well-balanced, truly wide frequency response
- Comments: If you have a relatively high quality sound system, these headphones will deliver clean, accurate sound. They sound great with lower-quality amplifiers also, but if your amp puts out any kind of hiss, these sensitive headphones will let you know.
These headphones output what you put in them with minimal distortion and terrific soundstage. Bass, midrange, and treble all sound amazing. Important: When you first buy these, they will not sound very good until you let them "burn in" by playing semi-loud bass-heavy music through them for at least 100 hours. If you don't do this, they will sound like cheaper headphones unworthy of their price tag until they eventually burn in. This process "relaxes" the new magnets in the headphones. If you would like to read reviews by people who call themselves audiophiles, I reccomend searching the web for forums that discuss these headphones. Obviously, headphones of this quality may not be worth their cost to you. With headphones, as with most products, the cost goes up exponentially with increased quality, and isn't really paralled by exponential performance gains. Let rationaliy be your guide.
Amazing.
- Pros: Very clear and crisp with the correct sound card, loud, very high quality when compared to other headphones.
Plus the lining feels very soft =D
- Cons: Like others have mentioned, can rattle at really high sound levels, but to get there you would be putting your ears in dangerously loud levels of sound.
- Other Thoughts: I have the X-fi Xtremegamer paired with this, undoubtedly a must for games required the art of sound detection.
I've been banned from many CS:S servers for accused walling.
They're really soft =D

Sound is incredible
- Pros: Awesome highs, mids and lows- all frequencies sound clearer than any other headphone I've tried. As I'm not a fan of noise-canceling phones (they tend to lack the range and they're overpriced), these do a great job of drowning out external sounds. These are soft and comfortable, and I've worn them for over 6 hours straight without any discomfort on my ears or head. The build quality is excellent, and while I'm careful
- Cons: While they are circumaural, they still have an open ear design (which is partly responsible for the crisp, natural sound). Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend these to people working in the office- you'll probably bother your coworkers. For that purpose, I'd recommend Sennheiser's lower-end (but still awesome) EH-350 headphones- unfortunate that Newegg no longer carries them.
- Other Thoughts: These are not the kind of headphones you put on for privacy- rather these are for audiophiles who want to hear every nuance in their sound. While I originally bought these to listen to music, they work incredibly well when gaming- just be sure to get a decent soundcard- most integrated audio chipsets lack the SNR for quality playback (Realtek 889 or better).
Worth the price
- Pros: These headphones are great! The ear pads are ginormous and very soft. I have worn these for many consecutive hours late at night with little/no discomfort. The sound quality is very impressive. I notice detail in music I have never been able to hear before.
- Cons: Pricey. Definitely crackles a little bit at high volume with high bass. The 6.3mm connector is pretty bulky, so it can fall out of an mp3 player easier than 3.5 connectors.
- Other Thoughts: There is no in-line volume control, but that doesn't bother me. Sennheiser makes the best headphones/sets IMO.
great headphone
- Pros: the best headphone i ever use. and the most expensive too. great sound and bass. using it with a Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series sound card. and it came with some earphone, havent tried those yet.
- Cons: none
