5 out of 5 eggswowz0rs

Pros: Very great headset. Works well with listening to opponents in Counter-Strike. Good product. Mic works well. Very crystal clear sound(with bass). Good bang for the buck.

Cons: Hurts the ears after awhile.

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks my socks!

5 out of 5 eggsGood.

Pros: The sound quality is great, and the microphone works well.

Cons: After wearing them for a long time they might start to hurt your ears, but I've run into this problem with most headphones I buy.

Other Thoughts: I bought these for gaming, to use with VoiP programs. They work great, and you can mute your microphone right on the switch if you want to.

4 out of 5 eggsGood headset for the $$

Pros: Fairly comfortable design with adjustable ear pieces. Sturdy mic wire. Adjustable volume controls. Reduces background noise (like family members). Excellent sound quality.

Cons: The volume adjuster on the cord is a piece of junk. Mine is flimsy and if it is knocked around I lose sound in the left ear piece or total volume drastically decreases until readjusted. Depending on the size of your ears, the ear pieces may be a little uncomfortable at times. If you are engrossed in a game, you won't notice.

Other Thoughts: I bought these for the noise canceling ear pieces and the really thick mic cord. I have owned previous headsets with flimsy mic cords that break easily causing a total loss of mic functionality. I have had this headset for probably a couple years now and I am not disappointed. The volume adjuster is annoying, but so far it hasn't failed and the mic was able to take punishment without failing. I give it 4 eggs, cause it's definitely a good buy for 2x.xx dollars.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall great buy except for the remote

Pros: works as advertised, sensitive mic w/ 3 sensitivity settings (off/mid/high). Nice headphones that completely encompass my relatively small ears, good sound.

Cons: sound seems a little uneven at times when you use the remote on the headphones to change volume, this problem seems to go away at maximum volume though. Remote casing comes apart on its own occasionally.

Other Thoughts: I might rma this, people in a counter-strike:source game commented about not being able to hear me speak so I checked my mic in the game and out of the game. It had stopped working and when I checked inside the remote casing, one of the wires was severed...

The remote casing seems to be the root of all the problems for this so altec lansing should straighten this out.

2 out of 5 eggsCheaply made, but great sound

Pros: These things cover the entire ear. While they're not the absolute best for blocking out sound like a pair of earmuffs, they get the job done. Their sound is also great, though has a bit of a hiss at high volumes. Also able to control the volume from a small device on the chord (featured in the product image), which is a nice touch.

Cons: Unfortunately, the cons heavily outweigh the pros. First off, earpieces break off easily. The ONLY thing holding them on is three, cheap little plastic clips on the inside. They could have been greatly reinforced if Altec threw some glue in there, which is the common repair method. Remember how your cheap toys broke? Same effect. Also, the upper part of the headphones (that rests on the head) will (and it will) develop a bump that will leave a depression in your skull if you wear these long enough.

Other Thoughts: These are my fourth pair. Common sense tells me that I should have looked elsewhere for better headphones on the second break, but I do enjoy the quality of the headphones, though they are cheaply made. Just handle them with care and maybe have a soft pillow to rest them on when your finished. Not buying another pair of these though, I JUST glued the right earpiece on, broke today.

2 out of 5 eggsNot that good Quality of workmanship

Pros: Not a bad price, fairly comfortable wearing, good sounds

Cons: These are very cheaply made. I have had 7 of them now, and now the last one broke on the headset band. Most of the time it has been the inline volume control and the wiring that breaks.

Other Thoughts: I am now looking for better quality Headsets with microphone, one that will last longer then the warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsalright

Pros: Awesome sound, comfortable as all getup, and get nice and loud real fast and in a hurry.

Cons: Three 2cm prongs that are probably 1cm thick hold each headphone together, so they will not last long without some extra support. Microphone on them bites the big one and barely works.

Other Thoughts: A thin strip of super-glue around the outer edge, or moderate in my case, will solve the issue of stability with the three prongs. My microphone works great for some reason now, no apparent reason, just works now..... 5th good pair, paid for one, weird. <3 return warranties!!!!!

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sounds rather good for the price (though I'm not exceptionally experienced with more expensive sets of headphones).

Cons: The microphone occasionally dropped the sound for short amounts of time, for whatever reason. This headset eventually broke beyond repair from tripping over the cord, yanking it off of my head and crashing to the floor where one side completely broke off by the plastic tabs that held them to the headband. I've had headsets and headphones costing less, sounding better and taking more abuse than that.

Other Thoughts: Rated higher for the decent sound. Also, I did NOT buy this headset from NewEgg.

4 out of 5 eggsGood if you are careful

Pros: Great sound, great price, everything works as intended. decent noise cancellation

Cons: These things break pretty easily. They won't fall apart on your head, but I've had the cord detach from the volume controller twice.

Other Thoughts: Still an excellent buy if you are gentle

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Just a good overall headset and mic. It would be hard to find something better in this price range.

Cons: Some of them can be a little tight at first.
