5 out of 5 eggsShocked my shell

Pros: Sounds perfect. Like an angel singing in my ear. I don't believe in angels though.

Cons: Didn't do my laundry for me, that's about it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood sound

Pros: Durable, they have lasted over a year of travel. Good sound. Handles the high violin notes pretty well.Pretty clean in the high frequency range.

Cons: Not quite as good on the noise attenuation as I would like.

Other Thoughts: Handles the high frequency violin overtones well on my favorite test piece, Brahms Violin Concerto, 3rd movement. Bass OK. Not quite good enough at noise blocking to make them good for listening to music on an airplane, but adequate for voice.

3 out of 5 eggsNot quite up to Sennheiser quality...

Pros: + Decent sound quality from earbuds
+ HIGHLY EFFECTIVE noise cancelling (see other thoughts)

Cons: - Quality not up to par with other Sennheiser products (see other thoughts)
- Noises transferred by moving cords (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: Bought these as I needed a set of earbuds I could wear while out in public, at my desk at work, etc., and remain fully portable. Went with these because they were on sale and I already own a set of Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones, which I will argue are the absolute best bang for your buck in terms of professional headphones.

These earbuds sounded like garbage right out of the package. I won't lie about that. I hated them at first and simply hoped that they just needed some time to break in. I was right, but I'm not sure to what degree. They have decent mids, but the lows are washed out and the highs sound a bit "tinny" and distorted. The quality has gotten better, but not by a whole lot.

The noise-cancelling aspect is no joke. I cannot hear a darn thing with these things in. Coworkers trying to get my attention often have to either throw something at me or tap my shoulder.

One of the biggest problems with these headphones is the fact that ANY movement in the cord causes the sound of the cord movement to be transferred directly into your ears. This probably has something to do with how the noise-cancelling aspect works, but jeez. Minus one egg for the annoyance and detraction from the sounds that you want to hear.

Even with these problems, these earbuds still sound better than most of the others I have heard (iPod excluded). At least for earbuds in the price range for which I obtained these (they were on sale for nearly half off when I bought them). I'll be getting a different set to replace these soon, but I'll still keep these around when I need some earbuds that I don't particularly care for, or just as a spare.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sound

Pros: Sound is excellent, smooth, good highs and lows. Very comfortable.

Cons: Volume control began to malfunction, eventually died.

Other Thoughts: Would love this model without the cheap volume control.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent sound, competitive price

Pros: This headphone has an interesting volume switch, seems very high quality. Great midtone quality. Not as a good of quality as I expect from Sennheiser, these headphones have very bad bass and sometimes hardly distinguishable from $10 walmart headphones.

Cons: Other than mediocre quality audio, these headphones have a volume control in the middle of them and it gets in the middle of my jacket all the time. It seems to be a selling point but it is more of an annoyance.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headphones

Pros: Tough I'm no expert, I like to think I have a fairly good ear for good sound and I think these have great sound for ear-buds. They are made very well, see my Other thoughts on that. I have had them for about 9 months now and I have had no degradation in sound quality or damage to the headphones.

Cons: They sometimes fall out of my ear when I am chewing food, but that may just be my ear shape.

Other Thoughts: I decided to write this review right after I accidentally put them through the washer and dryer. Unbelievably, they work fine after that.

1 out of 5 eggsDead in 6 months

Pros: Great sound quality
Comfortable build

Cons: Questionable durability

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend to purchase these headphones. Mine are phasing out after only 6 months of light use which is garbage. I hope Newegg can help make good on this...

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Good noise blocking, probably typical level of noise blocking for this style of headphones.
Decent sound. I also bought the Vmoda Vibe Duo and I liked these Sennheiser earphones better. I also really like the color on these, the mahogany and brass combo.

Cons: There's a problem with the wire where it goes into the headphone jack. I only get sound when the wire is in certain positions not others, so I'm going through the manufacturer's warranty since it's only a half year old.
