Pros: The sound quality is amazing. The bass is strong and the highs are not overpowering. The noise reduction properties of the ear-cups work well with short hair. The headset is comfortable and i am able to wear them for 10+ hour sessions. The soft material also is great with glasses as it will conform to the shape of the glasses and will retain the sound-blocking seal. Lastly, the microphone's ambient sound cancelling works very well. I have noisy surroundings and other people i chat with cannot hear any of it.

Cons: 1)The noise reduction of the ear cups does not work well if you have long hair or a thick beard. it requires a seal to work and long hair and thick beards tend to break the seal allowing noise bleedthrough. Not that much of an issue though if you are playing music as it is usually loud enough to drown out what does bleed through.

2) The price. Considering how expensive these are, #3 should not be an issue that exists.

3) The real negitive i noticed is that when you have the microphone up in it's "muted" position, the headset will broadcast the sound you hear to whomever would have been able to hear you before you muted. This can cause inadvertent broadcasting of music and more importantly, feedback loops to those listening. This is where i took off an egg.

Other Thoughts: Despite the issue with the microphone, i would still recommend these headphones to anyone who is willing to fork over the money for a good pair of headphones. I would just recommend setting up a push to talk button if you plan on using the mute feature.

Pros: -Sound quality is great
-This is a gamers headset that comes with a built in microphone
-Pretty comfortable for my round head
-High quality parts (you can tell that this is a premium quality product)
-Sound appears to be accurate (not an audiophile). Don't buy this for music only. This is what I use for gaming. I have a different product that I use for music.
-Great volume knob on right side of headset.

Cons: -Bass may appear to be a little low but this wasn't meant for music.
-Impedance is really high. You will need a sound card with an amplifier.

Other Thoughts: I use a Asus Xonar Essence STX for this headset.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best

Pros: Comfortable (can wear for 12+ hours without ears hurting)
Noise cancelling
LONG cord
Volume control/mic switch
FanTASTIC sound quality

Cons: Price, but you get exactly what you pay for.. The best.

Other Thoughts: I've had this bad boy for about 2 years now. I use it for extremely competitive online gaming. Headsets were a HUGE deal for me, because i'm legally deaf in my right ear. Not completely deaf, but if there's any ambient noise, it's impossible for me to make use of my right ear. These do such a fantastic job of cancelling ambient sound and noises that I no longer have to use an wired earphone plug to hear. Before, while gaming, I would use a headphone splitter, using a bose earbud in my right ear with my previous headset on top of it. Now, even at LAN events when the noise level can get loud, I can comfortably wear ONLY the sennheisers.

Side note: They FEEL kind of cheap (lightweight), but I've had them for about two years now and they have taken some serious rage-induced beatings and still look brand new.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headset, but requires amp for best results

Pros: As good as midrange audiophile equipment, plus the mike that's included for conferencing, games, etc.

Cons: It is a high impedance headset, so most soundcards won't get the complete response out of it - a headphone amp is pretty much required

5 out of 5 eggsMost amazing headset I ever owned

Pros: The sound quality from these are impressively high for a headset. The microphone is great and I leave my precious usb slots free. Lowering/Raising the microphone yields a satisfying *tink* sound as it passes a threshold keeping it from accidentally lowering it when you don't want it.

Cons: The dampening of outside noise is somewhat weak. No, these aren't noise canceling headphones but I was hoping that circumaural headphones like these would block more outside noise.

5 out of 5 eggsSound-card with AMP recommended

Pros: Well-built, braided lines, covers entire ear, comfortable, collapsible for saving space.

Cons: Not a con but the saying "you get what you pay for" applies as these are a bit pricey. But worth it!!

Other Thoughts: After 3-4yrs, my Logitech Clearchat Pro Wireless-USB headset/mic was really dying with the problem most were having (crackling and hissing and popping). Though was bought more for teleconferencing, they were fine for online-gaming til the popping issue.

Now enter Sennheiser that was recommended to me as a brand by someone that I online game with. I had NEVER heard of Sennheiser as they are a European brand (like Bang & Olufsen, etc...) When doing the research, instead of Logitech or Turtle Beach, these headsets are high-end (and there are different types be it gaming or listening to music, etc...) So on his recommendation, I searched based on my criteria and price point and got the Sennheiser PC 350 Special Edition. The SE has braided lines so that they don't scratch and cord easily. They cover my ear completely as opposed to my Logitechs that sat on top of my ear.

At first when plugging them into my old sound card (Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium PCI Express Sound Card) they sounded "tin-can" like. The key is to let them "warm-up" over a period of a few days/weeks. Then they started to warm up and sound better. But not much better as the card does not have an amp. Then once I upgraded to a new sound card (Creative Sound Blaster ZxR SBX PCIE Gaming Sound Card with Audio Control) the Sennheisers came ALIVE with deep bass sounds of grenades exploding and especially when EMP pulses blast during online gaming in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2! Here is where the sound really takes off!

As the headline says.....sound card with AMP (150 ohm impedance or higher) recommended to drive these bad boys!

5 out of 5 eggsbad as it is.

Pros: i had my doughts but when it came to buy them i did , so now they are great they sound so perfect with the asus xonar phoebus it is the best for gaming sounds i never heard on a on board audio you should go for it dont hazatate to buy them you will love to hear your music from them to but you need that audio sound card with if not your wasting your time with just the headset so remember to buy a high end audio card thats going to push these headset so while im in game battlefield 3 theres more sound to it if they were to attack me from behind if it was from the right you hear it from the left you hear it on the left speaker and the right is the right sound if they were coming to you for the middle right behind you you'll hear it on both speakers besides all that you hear you foot sets with there foot steps while you hear bullets from the sound as they fly by and to the impact of the sound to the bombs when you throw the granade and it hits the ground and when it blows up and the wind blowing and the sea ocean to the birds and the choppers and theres more to it but it picks up so much detials in the game to any other game and as for music theres sounds that youll never heard in the music befor so buy them with the sound card and what ever game you play or music you listen to you will hear sounds and things that you never heard before on your on board motherboard audio or mp3 mp4 ipod none of that is notting compare to these headset but you need a sound card and not just any sound card the asus xonar phoebus sound card is what i have and pushs this headset of 150 ohms.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: i had though about it for 2 monts before i bought them and you know what i love them there great cause i hear everything and more O on battlefield 3 when you are hearing all that rucks in the backround even when you or the enemy is speaking you can hear them paracute from the sky and these headset saved me at times kjnow and its not that my onboard audio on my motherboard is bad because my motherboard is a asus maximus v extreme high end an the sound is good on it but these headsets with that sound card makes it more clear and theres more sound that you don't hear from a onboard soundcard.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound, Questionable Value

Pros: To start, the sound quality in this headset is amazing. I have never before had a home-use headset with such clear and enjoyable audio. The microphone is also very good, certainly a nice combination of positives for gaming. The lows are as clear and audible as the highs. Guitars come through clean, and the bass will not drown out your ears. The cord is long enough for almost any situation, and the cord's clip includes mic on/off toggle and headset volume adjustment. All in all, this is highly recommended on all accounts of sound quality.

Cons: I have owned this for over two years (could not buy it on newegg back then or I would have!) and it has been treated delicately the entire time. Despite careful handling, the right sound channel went dead a year ago, and the microphone has been getting quieter as the months go by. This headset never moves, ever. It is plugged into my computer at all times, and the cord is never dragged about. The headset itself rests on my desk always and there is plenty of slack in the cable. Despite enormous caution, the wires through the headset band have either severed or shorted leaving the right channel dead. I am unsure what is causing the microphone to lose volume over time, but it is quite noticeable on gaming comms and in recorded videos.

The ear padding is cheap fake leather but most headsets have this; over time it just kind of falls off, leaving bare foam. Not a big problem, this can be expected from almost every headset.

Other Thoughts: The price is a bit steep for a corded headset, but I wouldn't let that affect your purchasing choice. This really is a nice headset. So long as the left channel still plays properly, I intend to keep this. But I do suggest caution as the build quality seems to favor everything but the fragile wires.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Excellent sound quality
-High quality, sturdy construction
-Long, braided fabric cable
-Clear, high quality microphone

Cons: -A bit heavy after wearing for extended periods, not enough of a consideration to dock an egg for.

Other Thoughts: Originally I had a wireless headset from Logitech, the idea being that I would be able to move around with a greater degree of freedom than with a wired headset. This turned out to not be the case, after overpaying for what would have been a $30 headset if it had been wired and dealing with a myriad of issues related to the wireless nature of the headset, short battery life and regular signal distortions, I opted to look for a new headset. Eventually I settled on the PC 350 SE model, a bit expensive in my books but I'd read good things elsewhere, and the long cable provided the flexibility I desired from a headset. In addition, there is a clear difference in sound quality, so much so that I was taken aback by it at first.

Definitely worth the investment, if the lack of product picture worries you, which it did for me, there are plenty of images on Sennheiser's website. While I do feel such product pictures should be available on here without having to hunt them down, I am pretty sure that is Newegg's issue and not Sennheiser's.
