5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: lightweight, good sound quality, doesn't block out ambient noise (I need to be able hear what's going on around me).

Cons: Microphone picks up breathing better then I would like.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Mic worked great for about two weeks.

Cons: Mic died after two weeks. The sound quality was like listening through a can. Sounded awful compared to my 20+ year old Sony walkman headphones.

Other Thoughts: I don't think anyone makes good headsets anymore, roll the dice, flip a coin, whatever. Maybe you'll get lucky.

2 out of 5 eggsBad for music

Pros: -Comfortable to wear, although I haven't used extensively
-Low price

Cons: -Bad sound quality
-Doesn't feel very durable... I feel like I could damage it too easily

The sound quality sucks! And I am comparing this to the sound quality of $10 Logitech headsets that I had been using for the past 3 years (Logitech Clearchat Stereo Headset).

The Logitech headset sounds SIGNIFICANTLY better, for about the same price. I tried both of these headsets out on the same day with various songs, and the horrible sound quality of Genius made me truly appreciate how good Logitech's sound quality was (compared to other cheap headsets anyway).

I was trying to move away from the cheap Logitech headsets because they kept wearing out too quickly. One earpiece would sometimes lose sound after 5-10 months of heavy use.

However, these Genius headphones have sent me crawling back to Logitech. Even if the Logitech ones wear out quickly, at least I can appreciate music while they last... but Genius headphones definitely felt like a huge step down, even though their prices were similar.

I would definitely NOT recommend these if you want decent music quality. Get similarly priced Logitech instead, you'll hear the difference clearly, like I did.

Other Thoughts: I just ordered the same Logitech headphones that I had been using prior to these for a slightly higher price. I won't be using Genius again.

5 out of 5 eggsyou get what you pay for

Pros: Cheap price. I've had it for years, I think about 5 years and both ends of the audio still work

Cons: Bad build quality, uncomfortable(not made for big heads), the mic after positioning it too much will wear and become difficult to keep a position. Mic captures EVERYTHING

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job

Pros: For the price, and the fact that I only use this once a week or so, I've given this product 4/5 eggs. The quality of the headset is not great, but I knew that going in. I've got nice gaming headsets, but this is for ventrilo/voice chat only. The mic quality is decent and the headphones are just "Okay". Overall, if you want a cheap headset for voice chat, this is it.

Cons: Cheap quality, but what do you expect for such a cheap price.

3 out of 5 eggsok, not great

Pros: Cheap. I bought 3, mic seems to work pretty good on all three. No one on the other end ever reports difficulty hearing me.

Comfortable enough to wear for a half hour.

Cons: I have difficulty hearing with all three. The speakers in the headphones are not very good. Also the input volume and output volume seem to share the same dial and can only be adjusted separately on your PC. Kinda makes the dial not so useful.

Not comfortable enough to wear for an hour. Don't really cover my ears and therefore do not really block out external sound.

Other Thoughts: My head is kind of big so your comfort mileage may vary. They're not too bad for the price. I'll use them till they don't work anymore but when I rebuy I'll go for something a little better.

3 out of 5 eggsUnimpressed

Pros: Sound quality is perfectly fine, as headphones they work with no problems.

Cons: The mic has never worked at all. Mic DOA

Other Thoughts: if the mic would have worked, it would be a very nice little headset.

5 out of 5 eggsGood quality, Low price

Pros: Great quality for the price. Wanted a headset for Skype. Works great with my desktop, excellent sound quality on both mic and headphones. Very light and very comfortable but on the delicate side. So you have to take care when using it. Cord is 6' long and has an online volume and mute control. 6' is long enough for me.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: While Skype sound quality is perfect with my desktop there is a bit of a noticeable feedback hum in the mic on my laptop. Headphones sound great on laptop though. Don't know where the mic hum is coming from as yet.
