1 out of 5 eggsNice but unusable due to spontaneous double-clicking

Pros: Comfy, smooth scrolling.

Cons: Just got it today and it is already broken. Randomly double-clicks instead of single clicks (about 1 in every 10-15 clicks). Realized this is a significant problem when it double clicked on a delete button, and when it closed the window I wanted to close and then the one behind it as well.

Also, the two side buttons have to be pressed pretty hard, which is awkward, and the forward/back seem to be backwards (worked around this using X-Mouse to re-map the keys).

Other Thoughts: If it weren't for the double clicking, I'd give it a 3 or 4, but it's fairly useless with this glitch.

2 out of 5 eggsworks ok

Pros: 5 buttons, very comfortable due to gel padding around the mouse, excellent tracking optics (works on almost any surface, even some dark brown/reddish surfaces which leave other mice with their tracking in the dust, if they even sense any movement (red optics don't like brown OR red surfaces, they lose surface tractability). The led light-up logo lets you know if your mouse has disconnected for whatever reason (ie. usb port falure, accidental 'safe removal', etc.) as well as makes sure you can find it even in a dark room.

Cons: the 4th and 5th buttons on mine were backwards (had to use front button for browser back and back button for browser forward), the buttons are NOT customizable, so you are stuck with the default factory/driver default configuration. Not so much of a Con as something one would need to get used to you could say, but the real Con is that a number of games and programs only recognize this mouse as a 2-button scrolling mouse on my system. Does not always recognize this mouse on USB 3.0 or 1.1 ports. Mine arrived with no driver disk either, so i had to keyboard it over to the Fellowes page to get the drivers.

Other Thoughts: The main factor that encouraged me to purcahse this mouse was the fact that every Fellowes mouse, multi-media keyboard, and gamepad i have owned in the past came with software for button customization. This mouse, however, has no such software. Other than button confusion and lack of support software and incompatibility on my system with any USB besides 2.0, this mouse deserves a 4-5 egg rating. I only give it 2 because within 3 days of starting to use it I wanted so badly to smash it against (NOT with) a hammer from cutting in and out, button confusion, and lack of functionality in half of my software. I gave this one to my electrician as a tip for a job i had him do and went back to my old Linkworld 5-button 800 DPI i intended to upgrade to this one from after a year and a half of heavy gaming use (of which the only wear and tear is on the paint). Deserves a 4-5 egg rating for overal performance, but the minor inconveniences seriously detract from the the pros. Wasn't worth it

5 out of 5 eggsWorked Great for over a year!

Pros: 5 buttons, Low price, Smooth tracking. Comfortable, Not too light, Not too heavy.

I've had 2 of these mice for 15 months. One was used heavily for gaming. It is now being replaced with another one of these great mice. After 15 months the right button has just failed. Tried banging it on the desk, but that only worked for a click or two. This isn't a con because I usually have to get a new mouse every year due to one of the buttons failing. I just figure it's all the clicking that I do.
I really like this mouse because of the gel/fabric in the palm area. During intense gaming with other plastic mice I had to keep wiping my hand off because of sweating. I rarely have to do that with this mouse therefore I'm buying another one!

Cons: None really. The thumb rubber grip came off a couple months ago, but some glue fixed that with no problem.

Other Thoughts: The other mouse not used for gaming is still going strong.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked fine for 45 days

Pros: Worked fine for 45 days!

Cons: Started having problems with the back button and forward screens. They quit totally. The good thing is it still functions as a three button mouse. Really wished it had not quit on me. I'll find something else! :(

2 out of 5 eggsNot really gellin'.

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: The gel pad is misleading. There is a soft, gel spot (just enough for the "touch" hole in the packaging) in the center of the fabric covered area, but the rest is hard.

Other Thoughts: Buttons four and five are difficult to use left-handed.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 5-buttons is great for gaming, and gamers are not known for their extravagant fortunes: It is cheap. I like the way it feels and moves. I also like the way it clicks because the button-depression is short, so the cycle-time between each press-down and release is short, which is great for mad clicking. It's really a nice mouse, and for a 5-button mouse its cheap: the price-point is a serious bonus here.

Cons: After 6 months it began to issue double-clicks when I clicked only once, getting me killed in my games sometimes :) This problem was easily solved by banging the mouse a few times on my desk until it went away, as though something was loose or not soldered properly and just needed to be jolted into another place. After describing these symptoms, a friend said that I probably had a bad switch inside. Ok, so maybe you get what you pay for. After 9 months of ownership, I got worried that it will only handle so much more banging on the desk and I was tired of using this technique as a "fix", so I have decided to replace it. I'm sure a lot of them are bad, but I am hoping to get lucky. I'll probably buy another one while I see what I can do with this one in the warranty process.

Other Thoughts: Even with two mice (while one would be in some kind of RMA process), I'm still paying less combined than a lot of other 5 button mice. I've had other expensive mice (64$+) go out on me in the past, albeit their longevity was better (2-3 years). I don't think I'm that bad off, but of course I am biased, because I like the mouse itself.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't last too long

Pros: The price was low.

Cons: Completely died after a year of use. After the first month, the cursor would drift without my hand even on it. The mouse was much smaller than I thought it would be. Looks rather ugly, and the pad doesn't do much. In fact, it was kind of awkward in my hand. I guess that's what I get for the price. Bought two Kensington mouses and haven't had a problem with both of them for almost a year

Other Thoughts: I was surprised this mouse is still for sale, so I had to review it and state my displeasure with the thing.

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't hold up

Pros: Five-buttons. Installed easy. No driver problems.

Cons: The two main buttons feel cheap, the cursor drifts occasionally--yes, I can watch it move across the screen with my hand off it. The two rubber side pads came off after a few months because the adhesive turned to goo. Imagine having goo in your hands when trying to play a game. I cleaned the goo off, but apparently not good enough. After applying two-sided tape, they slid off again in a few weeks. Maybe I'll try epoxy. The cushy pad is no great thrills, in fact, I find it annoying.

5 out of 5 eggsGood mouse

Pros: Great mouse. Period. The light up FELLOWES that is on at all times might annoy some, but I use a light up keyboard as well, plus, my hand covers the lights anyway, so no bother to me. The mouse has a nice feel, and that's with my large hands.

Cons: Red light up FELLOWES could get annoying, but I never see it to be honest. Won't take off an egg just for that.
