5 out of 5 eggsImpeccable Value. Hidden Gem.

Pros: - Good overall specifications.
- Decent construction and build quality. Robust plastic with some aluminium reinforcing the overhead band.
- Does not require high-end dac/amp to drive respectfully (32 ohms), but will scale reasonably well with one.
- Removable 3.5 mm AUX cable.
- Compatible with headset mics like the V-Moda Boom Pro.

- The sound is well-balanced. For me its just on the brighter side of neutral. Presentation is natural, not too cold, and only subtly analytical. You can listen to these all day without getting "tired" from the sound as you would with other headphones. The sound stage deals out good lows and delivers mids/highs crisply without lingering.
- For more discerning audiophiles, you might benefit from some fine tuning, mainly where the frequency response transitions between the upper mids and lower highs. Can not fault these headphones for that. They're optimized out of the box for all kinds of music, especially where distinctive listening is prized and overdone bass is a no-no.
- Would suggest pairing with a warmer-side-of-neutral amp or eq process for some types of music.

Cons: - Size adjustments involve very lose notches that tend to slip unless under load (i.e. actually on your head its fine).
- Clamping force is a bit light --> worried it will be too loose in the long run, after fatigue and break in effects.
- Earpads can not be changed out except via some modding.

Other Thoughts: The SHP9500 are "sleeper" headphones. Most will not stumble upon these unless lucky, well-informed, or in pursuit of extreme value. Stellar comfort, reliability, and of course audio quality for the price. When on sale (~$99 CAD), they completely shatter the price/performance ratio of the current (2015-2016) era headphones market. At this lower price-point, they become rank 1. When not on sale, they still defeat most, if not all, products at the higher, entry-level audiophile price-point of ~$250 CAD. My first 5 star review ever on the internet after years of reviews.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat set of headphones!!!

Pros: -These are comfortably light. They are not heavy on the head or ears. Plenty of cusion on the head around the head and ears. Super extra long detachable cable. Great and clear sound.

Cons: - the only con I have is the material on ear pads can feel scratchy to the skin and that is all.

Other Thoughts: I would whole heartedly recommend this set ti any one thaat likes headphone of this caliber.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headphones

Pros: -These headphones are incredibly comfortable. I have glasses, so most headphones put too much pressure on me, but these are like a cloud on my ears. I can wear them all day (and have) without discomfort.
-I love the mesh. It doesn't make my ears sweat like most over ear headphones. They breathe very well.
-They sound great to me. I'm not an audio freak, but these are the best sounding headphones I've used. They work perfectly for casually listening to music.

Cons: -The included cord is super long, but it can replace that with any aux cord.

5 out of 5 eggsNo brainer

Pros: *I didn't understand why some people described music as beautiful until i put these on
*Overall design is very versatile and comfortable, especially for big heads. For reference I have a 7 3/4 hat size
*The detachable cord is very practical
*So far the head phones have proven to be pretty durable for downhill longboard skating conditions where you are falling with style
*

Cons: *These are REALLY good headphones for CASUAL users. These headphones will be incredibly loud for certain content you view, you really need to be aware and try to get the best quality as possible with these since they can be incredibly sensitive with certain content, especially high quality streaming. ADJUSTMENTS might be necessary
*these headphones are big, be prepared to hold on to them if you are moving at speed
*I don't work in an office but I can see how these could anger your office mate since they are open ear. these things are as loud as desktop speakers
*I really hope these things are durable for real life conditions like hiking or skating for i'm not so sure

Other Thoughts: great quality and sound I wish was in a closed headphone

3 out of 5 eggsgood but kinda disappointed.

Pros: Sounds good.
Detachable cable.

Cons: I have small ears and they touch the sound device which is a hard surface, there is no padding at on between the device and the ear cup but the mesh which is normal sometimes but they are too close for my comfort.. i quickly realized why these ear pads aren't detachable. Speaking of the ear pads they are a little itchy especially if you have facial hair. The foam for the headband isn't doing the job well either if i have these on for 30 minutes my hair gets completely flat to the point where it actually hurts (my hair isn't long either, headphone hair? more like helmet head) i have had many headphones and this headband is the worst I've seen and my biggest complaint. I'd rather rip it off and install something else on it, and i just might.

all these things have me constantly fidgeting the headphones around to try to get comfy.

Only took a week until i started hearing cracks and pops from minor movements coming from the headband feels like it was really poorly installed.

Sound leaks a lot.. more than any open backs that i have seen

Other Thoughts: "if you have so many negetive things to say about it why did you give it 3 stars?"
I guess i just expected these to be way more comfy due to the internet hype but they're not.

They are a good pair, but there are others i would recommend at the current price range since they're going up.

At 60-80 BUY THEM
at 80-120 maybe depends what you're looking for (do comparisons)
at 120+ i would recommend a skip.

5 out of 5 eggsBest headphones I've ever owned!

Pros: Sound amazing, very crisp
The most comfortable headphones you'll ever try on in your life
Detachable cord (what sold me on this headphone)
Adjustable earpads and headband
Includes a 5.25" adapter
Considerably light

Cons: They have a lot of sound leakage, but that's to be expected with open-back headphones
The white L and R on each earcup may look unappealing to some, but imo it looks fine to me
Earpads are non-replaceable
Cable is very long, some people may want to pick up a shorter one

Other Thoughts: If you're a basshead, this headphone is NOT for you. The SHP9500s deliver a crisp, clean sound mainly focused on the mids. To be fair, there is some bass, but it's not very strong.

If you're not a basshead and you're fine with dealing with the very minor cons, GET THESE HEADPHONES. You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsI was not paid by Philips

Pros: +Very clear sound, even at low volumes you hear every part of songs perfectly
+Ridiculously comfortable
+Low price

Cons: -Leak A LOT of sound. I was expecting leakage but not this much. Personally doesn't bother me though.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't be surprised if used pairs sell at a much higher price than the MSRP in the future

4 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck with few flaws

Pros: - Cheap (Pick up for $46!!!!)
- Pack in a punch, 50 mm neodrive.
- Majestic sound for its price! Some people even considered it as a Sennheiser HD600 brother since the sound signature is quite similar.
- 3.5mm detachable cable, easy for upgrading cable or turning it to a gaming headset with V-Moda Boom Pro.
- Big ear-cups, very comfortable.
- Light, no clamping force.

Cons: - Ears get warm easily due to the nylon material of ear-pads.
- Ear pads are non-replaceable.

5 out of 5 eggsHeadphones that sound like $400

Pros: These headphones sound like they are in the $200-400 range. I have AD700x's and these beat those in just about every way. They also beat the HD598's in just about all ways IMO. There's a review that says these are nearly as good as HD600's and I would probably agree.

They are the best I've ever worn for comfort. Looks are good imo too. Nice build quality, these shouldn't break, ever unless dropped very hard.

They are neutral, good sub/mid bass, highs are pretty clean.

IMHO best headphone on the market considering the price. Check zreviews in the future for a review of these and you will see.

Cons: There is nothing bad to say about these.
