4 out of 5 eggsOkay overall, great for some musics

Pros: Loud, efficient; comfortable; durable; reliable in-line mic; full smartphone compatibility; reproduces vocals, piano and electronic sounds with rich, nuanced detail and immense bass

Cons: weak detail in high range, especially reproducing strings, some percussion, and electric guitar

Other Thoughts: I used a variety of samples to test their performance against other headphones, including a very fancy set by Sony, and my conclusion was that each excelled the others for a different type of music. This set makes David Bowie and Groove Armada sound amazing; if you're a fan of Samuel Barber or Itzahk Perlman, look elsewhere. Oddly, the effect on Van Halen was to dull both the crunch of Eddie's guitars and the screech of Sammy's vocals. For the price I paid, I was very satisfied. Sound isolation, BTW, was moderate, which could be a pro or a con to you.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

5 out of 5 eggs¶¶ Live Music ¶¶

Pros: comfortable for me
cable adapter
great sound, surprising

Cons: chord length 2 feet longer would have been perfect to lay back to watch/listen video, but that's not my intended use anyway, so no docking.

Other Thoughts: I've used a set of warhorse headphones literally for decades (still available today, otherwise I would state) and I wanted to see if there was something better with updated technology, specifically for live music studio usage.

Compared these Syba's side by side, and no question, the warhorse is retired!

And at a bargain price.

Nice going, Syba.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We are happy to know you are satisfied with our headphones!

We also encourage our customers to tell others about our brand as well.

2 out of 5 eggsOk sound, bad mic.

Pros: Cord is long and durable +1

Headphones are adjustable for larger heads +1

Sound is ok, gets sharper the louder you have the volume +1

Cons: The Mic is just plain awful. I was trying to communicate over Skype with my brother and he could see my lips move but not hear my voice. The mic is functional, if I hold it up like a boom I can be heard, but how practical is this when I'm trying to multitask? I turned my decibel booster up to max and it sounded like a beach was in the background with waves crashing on the shore the whole time.

Other Thoughts: I was excited for these headphones after I grabbed them off Newegg Flash, was disappointed. If you want just a pair of headphones these may be for you. However if you wish to use the mic effectively, look elsewhere.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

The sensitivity on the Skype Preference may need to be increased.

The in-line microphone is sensitive and was most likely adjusted by Skype's default microphone settings to reduce background noise from being recorded.

Thank you for leaving us your valuable feedback.

2 out of 5 eggsSound is disappointing

2 out of 5 eggsJust bad

Pros: Good price if you get a good deal with the rebate.

Cons: Very bassy. Tight on the head.

Other Thoughts: I've never owned a pair of over the ears before. When I bought these, the reviews were excellent, and the price was only $15 with rebate, though I'd give them a shot.

They're very bassy, highs don't come in well at all. Echoy and dull.

Thought this may just be the way over the ears are, so in my disapointment in these I bought a pair of JCV-ha-rx700.

These are amazing and really showed where the syba cobra's are lacking.

I guess these are fine if you're looking for a cheap pair of headphones. But if you're even remotely interested in a good sound, don't bother.

Also, the first to reviews on these are very suspicious.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

The reason the headphones may seem to be tight at first is to fit all size heads, including children.

Over time, the grip will loosen to be more confortable.

Thank you for leaving us your valuable feedback.

3 out of 5 eggsOK sound & really uncomfortable!

Pros: Pros: Big sound for cheap phones but only cheap if you get them at huge discount/rebate. The "list price" is ridiculous.

Cons: Cons: Hideously uncomfortable. I mean exquisitely painful within a few seconds. They are too big and fit strangely. There is no way to adjust these for small heads. Women take note - most of you can't wear these.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted to like these, but since they are completely unusable for me so I think three stars is generous.

The smallest adjustment on these still has them simultaneously hitting my lower jaw and wrapping around the back of my head which makes me feel like I'm wearing a bench vise. I tried taping some foam to the band to bring them higher, which gets them off my jaw, but they still give me a wicked headache from where they hit me on the back of the head. They cannot be adjusted small enough for small heads. If you have a medium-to-large head they might be fine.

The sound is big. The bass is decent. But the cans themselves are so cavernous that they cause an echo. It's just like putting a seashell to your ear and "hearing the ocean." Try them on without being plugged in and you'll hear an echo from all the ambient noise.

I have no idea why these include a microphone. You would never wear these with a cell phone as they definitely not portable. They would be much better served with an in-line volume control.

The build seems okay except the cans are hard plastic and look like they might shatter if they hit the ground. Also, the place where the band comes into the cans looks like it could break pretty easily.

Oddly, they have almost no passive sound blocking. You can still hear everything around you only with the echo.

No instructions about the microphone. Found it out by reading reviews but it's ridiculous that it's not included. Also, way, way too much packaging. They could have reduced the packaging, eliminated the mike and the extra splitter cord and saved more than enough to put in a volume control.

I knew a lot of the reviews I've seen are fake (hint, mostly not here but take a guess) but I I took a chance. I would be okay with the sound. Except I can't use them at all because of the they are beyond uncomfortable so the sound is completely irrelevant to me. If I didn't have to pay return shipping I'd return them.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Our engineers will look into this matter. If it is a problem with our production design, we will improve it.

Over time, the grip will loosen to be more confortable.

Thank you for your feedback.

3 out of 5 eggsThey're no Sonys

Pros: The cans are comfortable and the workmanship, at first blush seems decent enough. Built-in microphone and PC connectors are very handy. High quality cords.

Cons: The sound quality is horrible. Very boxy and no highs to speak of. The microphone sounds muffled no matter the placement.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't expecting miracles at this price, but based on reviews I was kinda hoping that they would be a suitable replacement for my aging Sony MDR-V600s (I know, apples & oranges). I guess you pay what you get for. Not worth the postage to send them back. Maybe I can use the foam pads on my Sonys.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

If the audio from the headphones are not crystal clear, perhaps there is an issue with the sound card that is connected to the headphones.

Also try testing with music players to be sure if the issue persists.

1 out of 5 eggsDead mic

Pros: Decent sound, comfortable

Cons: The inline microphone didn't work plus there were no instructions, manual or any other documentation beyond a limited warranty card.

Other Thoughts: RMA, return shipping, lost time ... very disappointed.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

An instruction sheet regarding how to use the Built-in-line microphone will be added to the product.

Simply press the microphone itself will let you pick up a phone call. And press on the microphone again to hang up and phone call.
Please note, some smartphones, users might need to setup the microphone device as an external microphone when use with Oblanc headphones

If you have not returned it, please contact our customer service. We will be glad to help you on this matter.

5 out of 5 eggsExceptional Value

Pros: Strong bass response, pretty clear and crisp high frequencies, very long and durable cord, impressive style... I am really, really happy with these phones.

I've run through about 6 pairs of headphones over the past 2-3 years. These have been my best overall headphones for my desktop music and gaming setup, chiefly because of the durability which is so often lacking in headphones, particularly in the cord. If you tend to roll your chair over a headphone cord from time to time, this matters an awful lot for longevity. As for the sound testing, I listen to everything from hard rock to driving house and trance beats to classical music and I compose and playback my own bass recordings, so I am quite certain the sound quality will leave you highly satisfied. For the $30 I spent on these, I don't think there's a better bargain on the market.

Cons: Doesn't come with a Bose label, but would fool people anyway in a blind sound test (ok, so maybe that's not a con at all)

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than Beats!

Pros: Comfortable, durable and quality headphone. Onto the sound; awesome! The headphones offer a great sound stage and flat response. Brings music to life while not over emphasizing any particular spectrum. + it has a mic!

Cons: NA

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money on the trendy Beats. These offer better sound for a fraction of the cost.
