5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressive For the Price

Pros: I got these for 14.99 after mail in rebate with free shipping. At first i was like cool cheap headset with a mic. Ive never had a mic and always wanted one just never got around to it for one reason or another. I figured as long as they worked and sounded ok I would be more than happy. Boy did I get more than I expected. The extra bass/rumble feature is astounding. They actually slide around a little on your ears there is so much bass. The highs leave a little to be desired but I honestly almost didnt bother mentioning that because they are so good in every other way. I also like that the mic is removable. The cloth ear pads are nice, they could breathe a little better but I can wear them pretty comfortably for 5 hours with a few two minute breaks in there. They are light and cheap feeling but light also means comfortable.

Cons: As a lot of people say they feel a little flimsey but the only part that is really a weak point that I can find is where they are adjustable to make them fit your head right. However if that part ever breaks on mine I know I can easily find a way to mend them with a couple screws to the point where they will never break again. You could even just tape them up if your not very mechanical with your hands. Its not like your constantly need to readjust the size of them (unless you have that shrinking head syndrome ive been hearing of) so if you lock them in place with a permanent fix your golden. The part that rattles when you shake them is the sort of hinge part where the speaker assembly mounts into the head band. I wouldnt be worried about that at all its a cheap way of doing it but it works and is solid.

Other Thoughts: The only thing I can say here is read the directions they come with. You have to have your audio coming in through the RCA cables to get the rumble affect and you have to have USB power connected aswell for them to work at all. At first I just hooked them up to my PC and was like "wheres all this rumble bass affect??" then decided to try to PS3 and read the directions on how to set them up with that and they became a whole new headset. When you play sound through the USB it plays through the mic input line which doesnt use the rumble feature. Again, make sure you hook them up correctly, read the directions they are very short and simple.

4 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: sounds great
i got them on sale plus rebate for $15...what a deal!
the rumble effect was more then i was expecting from these.
its like when you hear a car drive down the road and you can hear the bumper rattling like crazy but its in your head

Cons: I wear glasses and after a while it starts to hurt my head because its pressing my glasses into my head. (its not as bad as others ive use but will give me a headache after long use)
also my hair is on the long side (like past my shoulders) and my hair is constantly getting caught in it and pulls my hair out! i really like my hair and don't want it pulled out!!!!!
other than these two issues i love this headset.

Other Thoughts: i wouldn't pay the original price for them...but that's because im cheep. but over all happy with them. sounds amazing!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsGood PC headset

Pros: Good price (on sale).
Rumble effect definitely adds to the experience (in certain games).
Easily connects to PC.

Cons: Not the sturdiest headset in the world.
Having to fill out the rebate paperwork and cut the UPC off of the packaging to get the great price (sale +rebate).

Other Thoughts: I can't really add to what has already been said by other reviewers.
I just use it on the PC; it works fine ad requires very little configuration.
Unless you're a rabid, foaming uber-gamer or actually make a living playing multi-player games, these should be fine for you.
Especially if you catch them on sale.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: I got this headset to use with PS4 and PC.

- It has pretty decent sound quality for the price. I would say comparable to most $100-ish headsets.
- All the features do work. But it requires very specific setting and lots of work and wires.

Cons: Ok where do I start...

- When using with PC
It requires both USB and AUX to be connected for the "chat" and "game" volume dials to work properly. USB will show up as a separate audio output which you will have to set as "Default communication device" and the AUX will be your PC sound. This has to be configured again every time you plug it in so if you need to use it on two devices, it is probably too much work.

- When using with PS4
This again requires USB connection to the PS4 and AUX connection with the TV. My PS4 and TV are pretty far apart so this causes a major problem.

- Also for the TV->headset connection, RCA to 3.5mm AUX cable is supplied by the manufacturer. But my TV does not have RCA out, only AUX out. This means I have to plug AUX directly into the TV, and it mutes the TV. I dont want to walk to the TV and unplug the headset whenever I stop playing PS4. That is just stupid.

In conclusion, if you just want to use it as PC headset, plug it in and never take it out, yes, this is a decent headset.
With PS4, it is just not practical to make it work. However, if you can live with just one master volume dial, not game and chat separately, it should be fine.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We apologize for your issues you have experienced with this headset.

We have taken note of your objections with this device.

We hope that this headset serves you well in future use.

Thank you for purchasing one of our products, and for leaving us your valuable feedback.

-Regards SYBA CST 01232015

4 out of 5 eggsNice addition to gaming

Pros: Very good audio quality from the normal speakers. I was quite impressed with all the music and games I've put them through so far. The highs and mids are nice and crisp, and even without the bass boost, there's still a VERY good amount of bass to the normal speakers.

The rumble effect. Let's face it, that's everyone's buying point for these, no? So, with some testing, I've discovered that this effect is AMAZING when utilized properly.
There are obviously the dials for the controls and whatnot, and about a third of the way up the bass boost is when the rumble will start to kick in, because that's when the normal speaker's bass reaches its peak. This effect varies drastically depending on what you're playing or listening to. I've had it as a slight rumble when a bass drum gets kicked, to almost vibrating off my head (hyperbole of course) with some really heavy stuff.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is really quite spectacular with these. All of the vacuum combat is very bass-ey, and it's really, REALLY nice.
The mic is pretty good quality, though I failed to read that it can lock, so I couldn't figure out why I couldn't fit it in when I was first using it. User error. It has loopback, which means you can hear yourself. I have a deep voice, so it actually didn't really bother me as I could hear bass above my own, but a lot of people also don't hear their own voice as part of their job and find it annoying. I guess you could just unplug it and set it aside.
The cord is actually very thick, and does not feel like it's going to suffer any damage any time soon.

Cons: They rattle slightly when sufficient rumbling is occuring. I noticed this mostly in the right side. The part holding the earcup to the head part is plastic. Plastic-on-plastic vibrating tends to rattle. Oddly this is alleviated by tilting one's head to the left, but that's not a permanent solution.
The rumble is not always equal. In stereo music, the bass can alternate sides, which can be cool, but in some cases, I noticed in songs that did not do that, the left side seems to rumble just a little harder than the right. Might be due to the cord going into the left side, dunno.
The controller is pretty big. It even has a clip on it so you can attach it to your shirt or other article of holding. Which actually is better in my opinion, I don't have to fumble with it once I know which control is where.
The slide of the earcups to the headband is not very stable. They can slide around very easily when moved around or taken off, so you'll frequently have to readjust your comfort zone.
In some games where you would WANT the rumble effect, you may have to turn these up pretty loud. They sound great, but two hours in games with pretty loud volume, while nice, gave me a headache.

Other Thoughts: I actually really like these headphones. I don't know that I would have bought them at full price, as I did not, but I do not regret these by any means. I needed a good pair of headphones for non-disruptive music blasting, and I found them. The rumble is an extremely good addition to most games, I heard thunder in one game, and did not HEAR it before I FELT it, and that was really cool.
I don't like that they feel like they're entirely made of cheap plastic. I'd really like a second generation of this headset that featured higher quality outer materials, and possibly some rubber washers even, where the headband connects to the earcups to stop the rattling. You can probably DIY that, but I'm lazy. ;)

I love them. If you like atmosphere in your games, or more thump in your music, you'll love these.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat headset (Tested on PC only)

Pros: Doesn't get much better for the price
Bass/Rumble effect is a really good feature, and is fully adjustable.
Mic loop-back isn't too noticeable unless your mic is basically in your mouth, or you're breathing onto it.
Amazing audio and mic quality.
Detachable mic.
Very comfortable on the ears.

Cons: Feels cheap to the touch, but as long as you don't drop them from your roof, they'll be fine.
Mic loop-back can't be turned off, so don't try.
Chat volume has no function on PC, not sure about PS3.
Buzzing sound which only occurs when my GPU is being strained, probably a problem with the PSU though.
In terms of comfort, I've had better. It's fine on the ears but not so much on the head. May take some "breaking in" or getting used to.

Other Thoughts: You have to make sure you attach the mic properly; it has a flat edge and I nearly cracked the headphones open thinking I could twist it 360 without looking.
It would be a lot better if they included a utility to assign the chat/game volume to certain channels.

4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price

Pros: Comfortable, great sound quality, extra bass 'rumble' effect adds a nice sense of immersion. Great price for what you get.
I got these for Skyrim on the PC and nearly jumped out of my chair when I first heard a loud explosion. Often times I hear sounds in the background of the game and think its sounds from real life.
The cord is very long [if you need it]
I got these for $14.99 when on sale with the rebate. I would easily pay up to $49.99 for these, mainly because of the sound quality.

Cons: They feel flimsy, but most likely won't break unless abused. Are they probably more likely to break than other brands if dropped? Yes... But will last a long time if treated properly.
I wish the mic loopback had a toggle function. At times I don't want to hear the sound of my whiney voice :)
The cord is very long [if you don't need it] Seriously who needs 12.5 feet of cord? I'm guessing this is to please the PS4 people. They should make the extra cord detachable so you can 'add' the extra length instead of always having it on.
I did experience the background hum that others have talked about on my PC, but not my laptop. They should include circuitry in the device to cancel that out. Most likely it is caused by the requirement of 2 plugs having 2 separate grounds. [USB and 3.5mm]

Other Thoughts: Must be USB powered to function. I knew this going in, and am completely fine with it, but Syba should revise these to allow the standard headphones to work without requiring USB power, and when powered by USB you get the 'rumble' of the secondary bass drivers.
I can only really use these at my computer and can't take with me in the car when I want to listen to my iPod. I COULD bring extra +5V power, but that's a little overkill to lug all that stuff around.

Easily a 5/5 product if:
-Make the long cord modular
-Get rid of intermittent background hum
-Lose the USB power requirement
-Make the mic feedback have an on/off toggle

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Sounds just fine

-Comfortable (though I doubt it would fit someone with a head much larger than average).

-Good mic quality

-Long cord

Cons: -Rumble effect does not seem to be functioning

-The inline controller is somewhat awkward in size and placement

-Volume sliders don't seem to do what they indicate (Chat controls overall volume, game just buzzes when turned up, bass does nothing)

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the $35 dollars I paid for them, though it is unfortunate that the "rumble effect" seems to be missing. It could be an issue with my audio card, but it plays bass just fine normally.
