2 out of 5 eggsComfortable mouse, poor tracking

Pros: This mouse is one of the few ergonomic 5 button mice with a scroll wheel. Well I guess its technically a 6 button mouse because the scroll wheel does not double as a middle mouse button. (Also an awesome feature)

Cons: This mouse has a serious tracking problem. Several times a day it starts to 'pull' all the way to the right edge of the screen. This continues until I move the mouse again. I suspect this issue is the result of poor quality firmware, possibly an overflow/underrun in the sensor data interpretation. Now before someone tries to spout some non-sense about the surface or other system related software bugs let me just say that I have tired this mouse with multiple pads and surfaces that work well with both Razor and Logitech mice. What ever the cause of this issue, its related to the firmware or sensor in the actual product.

Other Thoughts: If you absolutely need an ergonomic mouse, this product is very usable. However, when I spend upwards of $80 on a mouse, I expect better quality tracking than you average $5, made in China, disposable piece of garbage.

5 out of 5 eggsSaved my career

Pros: It's the only mouse I can use without feeling pain

Cons: Sometimes I give it a good whack by accident when moving my hand to the mouse - this happens because it is a tall mouse

Other Thoughts: This and a Kinesis Advantage make it possible for me to work as a software engineer. Otherwise I'd be flipping burgers...

2 out of 5 eggsNice idea; improve mechanics

Pros: This mouse is somewhat helpful for wrist aches, CTS. Laser movement is accurate. Many sub buttons can be used for macro assignments. Battery use is very good, like 5-6 months on one battery

Cons: Biggest complaint I have is the mouse wheel started to get flaky about 6 months into ownership. Scrolling down would occasionally go up instead of down. It's gotten progressively worse.

I've made several attempts to contact the manufacturer for support and not received a single acknowledgement or proposed solution.

I get other aches as a result of this mouse configuration, my thumb will be sore if I do a lot of precision pointing. Have to adjust your seat height (more importantly arm height and armrest) for best comfort and accuracy otherwise it can begin to cause stress in your arm. I suspect this to be true of any mouse configuration (e.g. trackball), but thought it worthy of note.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Warranty/Work/Gaming/Ergonomics

Pros: Great customer service, when my mouse broke I just sent them a photo and they replaced the mouse for free (did not even have to ship it over). Responded in 2-3 days.

Cons: The place where the cord connects to the mouse is it's Achilles heel, always bow tie your cord when transporting it from home to work or it will break like mine. (but like i said, they replaced it for free)

Bottom thumb button is annoying to press, grey part is getting discolored on my replacement mouse.

Other Thoughts: Love love loveee the mouse.

Will put your carpel tunnel at a stalemate, but not cure it (better start taking finger yoga and sitting right for that).

Takes 2-3 days to get use to.

I game with it too, FPS (BF3/CoD4) and MOBAs (LoL) , my accuracy has not decreased at all.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty useful

Pros: It seems to do everything it says. I can feel the difference in my wrist. I was recently promoted to a desk job, something I have never done "all day". It seems playing on your computer at home is not the same, heh.

Anyway, It took a couple of days of use for it to become more comfortable. Not bad at all. The installation was painless on my Win7 32-bit workstation. Low'ish spec corporate box.

Many people comment on it, some scoff. Once they try it, they see the benefit.

Cons: Feels a little....light weight? Not really cheap, just less substantial than I expected out of a $100 mouse. I will see if that plays out in the mouse being less durable. No issues yet, though. Just not quite what I anticipated.

Other Thoughts: I think a mouse, or other input device designed to change how you hold and use a mouse can be a benefit it delaying, or preventing repetitive stress issues. Not sure this would be better than some sort of trackball device. I may try one of those as well.

Overall, I am happy so far, but with a slight concern about durability over time. Worth a try, in my opinion.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Much Better

Pros: 6 buttons, VERY comfortable, smooth motion, software to program buttons is easy to use

Cons: Takes a relearn of the mouse, and I had to program the middle button to me my button 2.

Other Thoughts: I have severe issues with my wrists. Being an IT professional for the last 15 years has taken it's toll. This mouse has help me go home at night without pain. My work purchased it for me but I liked it so much I got one for home too.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse, with a couple flaws

Pros: Vertical mouse design very comfortable.
On the fly sensitivity useful.
Customizable profiles.

Cons: Rubberized finish wears off.
Cable wire can break if not careful.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased four of these mice just over a year ago for my brother and I to use at work and home. We love them and don't like using other types of mice, but we have noticed a couple of flaws to them:

1) The rubberized finish on the palm grip section will wear off where your hand contacts it, particularly if your hands sweat while using it. This ends up making it look ugly when it starts to look patchy, and feels uncomfortable under your hand. I recommend keeping your hands dry when using this mouse, and wiping it with a damp cloth after use.

2) The wire in the cable exiting the front of the mouse ended up breaking on one of our mice. A better design would be for Evoluent to add a strain relief to the cable. Make sure you don't let the cable bend at extreme angles while you use it.

Other than that, these have been great mice for us.

3 out of 5 eggsNice Mouse...flaky finish

Pros: It is an upright mouse. Your arm feels better; your wrist will thank you. The concept excellent.

Cons: The mouse is cheaply made. The silver finish is very cheap, and it is already wearing away. This could be intended, because no mouse, I have ever owned, had the finish wear away in one month. None.
Evoluent provides specifics on cleaning the mouse. Use water. If you use hand-sanitizer wait until your hands are completely dry before using the mouse. I use sanitizer, and I wait until my hands are very dry before using the mouse, but still the finish is effacing. It is leaving me.

This mouse cost nearly $100. It comes in a wireless version, and it comes wired. At this price point the finish should not be a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsWrist saver

Pros: Great the verticle "hand shake" grip.
More buttons than I know what to do with.
Ability to change pointer speed on the mouse with a button right there on the side of the mouse is genious.

Cons: Not really a con but, would love to see a wireless model of version 4 someday.

Other Thoughts: Have been using an Evoluent mouse for a several years now(version 3 & 4). It has saved my arm from what was nagging pain after a days work. I was never diagnosed with carpal tunnel but, my wife was and what she described, I could definetly say I was experiencing a mild form of it or the beginning stages. But, from day one of using the Evoluent mouse I've experience no!! Thanks Evoluent!!!

5 out of 5 eggsthe King of ergonomics

Pros: *the lightest mouse I've ever owned. Lighter then the expensive gaming mouse I used to own and lighter than the cheap D**l mouse that I was using recently.
* dpi is adjustable on-the-fly, even without driver installation.
*driver software is amazing. allows full customization of each of the six buttons. Also it looks like you can customize the buttons for certain applications, although I have not yet had a chance to try this feature

* the mouse feels like it was built for my hand. The pinky rest and the thumb rest support my thumb and pinky beautifully.
* because this mouse is built to be used in a neutral hand position, I don't have to twist my arm to use it, causing myself pain in my deltoid muscle (shoulder).
* eliminates pain from having to curve my index finger at an odd angle.

Cons: what's a con?
in all seriousness, all I can come up with was as I was installing the drivers it informed me if I had any other mouse driver software installed I should probably uninstall it or it would cause compatibility issues.

Other Thoughts: Driver software also includes an auto clicker similar to the software "gentle mouse" and "E Quill Liberator". The auto clicker included in the driver works better than the other solutions in some situations. Also the auto clicker included with the driver is free whereas third-party solutions could cost $50 to $100.
