GIGABYTE AIVIA M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse

Pros: Profile switching, changing colors, fast DPI switching. Comfortable, in my hand at least. Left or right-handed mosue.

Cons: The wireless connectivity is poor. It randomly loses connection for 20-30 seconds every few hours, and constantly stutters every minute or so for a split second. It's completely unacceptable for the price and I hope they can fix it somehow. Needless to say, I won't be buying Gigabyte anything anymore, as trying to contact them on this has been horrendous as well.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it. Honestly. I took the risk and lost.

Pros: fast battery swap

plug-in play no driver rly needed (only for key button/macro etc)
can be plug in usb if battery ran out and the other isnt charge..

Pros: Somewhat configurable buttons. (See Cons for more details.)
Wired or Wireless capable.
I play left handed so one of the buttons on the left side is usable with very little effort. Only the Logitech G3 seems to have this feature.
Good weight and balance without battery.

Cons: V1.02 of Ghost Software will not run after installed.
Had to use V1.00 in Win 7 64-bit.
All buttons not individually configurable.
Top left & Right buttons are for DPI settings only and cannot be re-configured. This is too bad compared to other mice.
Thumb buttons seem to be cross configured when using the Ghost Software. They are not independently configurable between left and right side.
Even using X-Mouse software I was not able to get at all mouse buttons individually.
Ghost Software only somewhat intuitive. Had to add 100ms Delay to Key Functions to get them to work in BF3.
Not Worth $100.00.
Very heavy with battery in place.
If all buttons had been individually configurable this would be a very good mouse.

Other Thoughts: Cannot recommend to others. I had the Razer Lachesis and it was better in almost all aspects but was just not comfortable to play with.

Pros: I like the way it feels, some people say it feels like a brick but I like it. It looks like it would be uncomfortable, but it really isnt. Battery life is long, and battery adds good weight to the mouse.

The speed increase button, yeah thats good and great, but 10 seconds later it goes back to the old speed

The battery keeps being used, even when the mouse is not in use. On my old king of wireless mice logitech G, if you walked away, it went to sleep, and didnt burn up your battery.

BIG ISSUE: I loose wireless connectivty randomly....this is the deal breaker....I cant play Battlefield 3, be running around a corner...and then my guy doesn't turn. Signal would drop for a few seconds (i know its the mouse and not the mousepad, because the the buttons wouldnt work either) and would have to shake move around the mouse excessively to get my connection back.

The light on the charging dock stopped going green to show charging...and you cant put the mouse on the dock AND have the spare battery plugged in....apprently you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Other Thoughts: Not an awful mouse, I like some things about it, but it isn't the best thing out there. This is obviously Gigabyte's first mouse, because it does have issues.

Pros: The mouse looks great

Cons: Nothing works right. When clicking, the mouse pointer always moves a couple of pixels selecting something different the expected. When releasing the left mouse button, the release is delayed causing the selection of additional unintended objects

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte needs to stick with motherboards and get out of the mouse business.

Pros: Multiple means of charging, multiple batteries, macro capable, wide sensitivity range.

Cons: can't put the mouse on the cradle when a battery is charging, only way to charge both batteries at the same time is one on the cradle and the mouse being used in the wired mode. also the sensor seams slightly picky as to the surfaces it works on...i have a mouse pad that has a slightly rough finish and it can be difficult sometimes in terms of being precise. however when on shiny smooth surface it works perfectly!

Cons: -Design flaws:
--Why make the charging station not able to hold the secondary battery and the mouse at the same time - this wouldn't have been hard to do
--Ridge in middle of the mouse is hardly ergonomic, likely not comfortable for palm-grip mouse users
-A little of the heavy side

Other Thoughts: Bought this mouse as a successor to my trust old Logitech G7 that I've used for years. The hot-swappable batteries are almost a must for me now, and this is one of the few mice with such a feature. Although the swapping is not quite as quick/painless as the G7, this mouse has significantly longer battery life reducing number of swaps, and also has the optional wired route if you somehow managed to forget to charge the backup battery and ran down your current one.

Speaking of the wired option, this is a feature I'm generally not a huge fan of, but I understand why its there. As opposed to Razer's implementation, this one is much more seamless, and actually includes 2 cables so that you're not forced to disconnect the receiver to use wired.

Ergonomics-wise, I'm mostly a fingertip mouse user, so the design/ridge on top doesn't bother me. Some may take issue with it, and the weight is a little bit on the high side, but definitely livable.

All in all, good upgrade from G7 so

Pros: Didn't get around to posting this updated review for a while. I wrote the very first review on this product. This is the final review.

-Braided USB cables were nice.

-The rechargeable batteries that can be charged without plugging in the mouse is great. The battery life is phenomenal compared to other rechargeable mice.

-Gigabyte supplied me with the third mouse, because I did not feel that newegg should have to replace products that were received defective/bad quality from the manufacturer. Gigabyte handled my last replacement and the final refund with speed and efficiency. I believe that any product should be supported and backed by the manfacturer in this manner. After going through three of these, I refused to give this waste of money another shot. The 30 return window for newegg had expired. So, upon my request, Gigabyte ACTUALLY REFUNDED the original purchase price. The 1 egg is the total for the customer service (3 eggs), and the product itself (-2 eggs).

Cons: Three of these things lasted just over a one and a half months, including the time between shipping one back and receiving the next one. The quality was consistent between the three of them.

-The scroll wheel suddenly free-spins and stopped working altogether.

-It's way too light up front. When trying to click right or left mouse button, the cursor would move downward on the screen. Apparently, the downward pressure would move the mouse ever-so-slightly backward. Too light and unbalanced.

-The materials light and flimsy. Each one I returned had smooth polished spots from my fingers from that little use. The mouse would probably fall apart if knocked off a desk.

-Buttons are obtrusive and poorly located.

-It has the ergonomics and comfort of a brick.

-The dock's mouse retention is a joke. There are two tiny nubs that stick up to keep the mouse in place. If your chair bumps the desk, the mouse with fall off of it.

-The green "charging" indicator isn't near

Other Thoughts: -The team that designed this has probably never used a gaming mouse. This is WAY too flimsy. Gaming mice need to be rugged. They take beatings. Put this in a backpack, it will end up in pieces.

In my opinion, the positive reviews of this mouse were written by people who, regardless of tech level, were more interested in the "cool" effect of this new innovation in rechargeable gaming mice. Maybe they were even being able to overlook bad design aspects for this reason. Objectively, this mouse is junk. I go through enough electronic equipment to know poor quality materials when I see them. Even the software GUI seems to just be thrown together.

Gigabyte, stop cutting corners. We love you, but this has to stop. Your next one needs better components. As well as sturdier materials, low-profile buttons in different locations, more weight or a weight management system. Stop using anorexic anemics for your test group. Use angry ADHD kindergarteners. Sturdy first, fancy secon

Other Thoughts: Great mouse. It is VERY sensitive. And the only real con to it is the software that is in control of the mouse settings. I usually have to turn the sensitivity way down to use it. And the worst part is that the software doesn't really save your settings(upon restart) so I constantly have to lower it.

Dont let that deter you too much tho. The 2 batteries it comes with are AWESOME! no more AA batteries dieing on me. They last for ever and i havent had to change batteries yet.

It has a great design and feel to it as well. Nice quality and heft. Its only a con for me...but its a bit on the larger size for a mouse. I have smaller then avg hands and its a lot to hold. But Ive adjusted nicely and love it.

This is a great mouse(I think a better value than the Razers)

Pros: Has a nice weight, great battery life and comes with two batteries

Cons: The first issues is absurd button placement. There is one on either side of the scroll wheel that you use to adjust sensitivity, and then two on each side of the mouse. Even the ones that are on the proper side for your handedness (left side if you're a righty) are hard to hit. The ones on the other side may as well not even be there.

In addition to that, whoever designed it decided to put a sharp angle on the top. I'm not sure who thought this was a good idea but it puts a single point of pressure on your hand when you hold it and it's pretty uncomfortable.

Lastly, I guess it's low quality. After owning it for three weeks the scroll wheel just stopped working. Just totally died. Not sure what else can be said about that.

Other Thoughts: Stay away, barely worth even half the price.
