2 out of 5 eggsNumerous drawbacks

Pros: The battery life is excellent, several weeks of very heavy use, even with rechargeable batteries.

Cons: It requires absolute line of sight to the receiver. Even if you place a can of soda in front of it, it will start glitching out. It also randomly jerks a great deal in one direction every 15 minutes or so. If you are in game, you might find yourself suddenly looking at the floor or ceiling. Despite being a laser mouse, the resolution is bad. 2000dpi is not good enough if you have mouse acceleration turned off. The two AA batteries and the internals of this mouse make it a very heavy mouse. While that makes it sturdy feeling, it also makes precision work a pain.

Other Thoughts: While it is an acceptable mouse for normal use, this is not a gaming mouse by a long shot.

4 out of 5's okay

Pros: - Right Hand Mouse
- On-Fly DPI Adjustment
- Forward & Backward Button
- Looks Pretty Cool
- Love The Scrolling
- Good Price For Wireless Gaming Mouse

Cons: Big Con for me:
- Wireless range it terrible! I use my Logitech G7 on one of my other computers, and I can be 25+ feet away and maintain perfect tracking. Currently this mouse is 3.5Feet away from reciever and will drop out. Had to get a usb extension and run it on top of desk to keep it from dropping signal.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this is a hard to beat mouse with it's wireless feature. Was skeptical about anything other then Logitech, however I figure I'd give someone else a chance to make my work enviorment more ideal. Despite it's poor reciever range, it's a darn good mouse for the price.

1 out of 5 eggsDeceitful, read other sites review

Pros: Pros, uh gee let me think, since the only thing that matters about this mouse is horribly flawed none of the other potential "Pros" even matter.

Cons: Connection freezes every few seconds
Buttons don't respond

Other Thoughts: This thing is all looks. It performs poorly, there is an obvious lag and the entire connection freezes up every few seconds! And I know that this isn't just me having this problem as I have read other professional reviews on other sites and they say that they just can't give this model a good review because of the freezing situation, which they say is most likely a software problem but I HIGHLY doubt that, my professional opinion is this thing is just a piece of trash. The cheap wireless mouse at my work performs 100x better than this and NEVER freezes, ever, and it's the same exact type of connection with the same little USB receiver. Don't get this

4 out of 5 eggsGigabyte GM Force M9 Ice black

Pros: This wireless mouse it amazing, can be set up for closing and opening browser, refresh site etc. not quite the set up for extreme gaming but well do good (e.g Crysis) , very responsive when increasing DPI. Best wireless mouse I ever had.

Cons: One egg off for Gigabtye not presenting the exact full colour and style of the mouse (black & silver lining not Black and light gold wash) the picture on the website is black and silver lining which is what I wanted but nevertheless I still like it not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I will update my post about the length of usage of the 2AA battery when I need to change them.

5 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE GM-FORCE M9 ICE Review

Pros: Mouse Size: I am a male with Irish-American potato-picking fingers. This mouse seems to enjoy the size and shape of my hand. My hand says it agrees with the mouse. Which means I thought it looked big in the pic but it wasn't. The mouse is not too big. For my medium sized hand it's good.

Subtle Signs That The Manufacturer Cares About Their Product: Duracell is the brand of the two included batteries. Respect.

Tracking: Same experience as others: excellent tracking. Works as well on my stomach (just tried it!) as it does on my Razer mousepad.

Cons: fect900 tells it true: mouse does…not…have…good range. Used it with laptop at work, excellent. Took home and used with PC in living room sitting back about a yard/meter from the dongle. Massive stuttering. Fortunately I had an old USB extension cord laying around, which solved the problem. I would take a half point off, if I could.

Other Thoughts: Are you a moron? Here's one way to tell. Take this mouse out of its nice packaging and spend 53 minutes snarling at Windows 7 for not recognizing it. Stupid Bluetooth!

Then in minute 54, realize that you've forgotten to pull out the l'il dongle from the underside of the mouse and insert it into a USB slot SO THAT THE MOUSE CAN TALK TO THE PC.

Extra moron points for doing this AND being an IT professional.

Ahhh…another sign I love this product: I was just examining it closely to see if there was anything else to add to this review. While I turned it in my hand, allowing its curves to please me, respecting its low-key shiny areas and sober darker surfaces, I realized that I really deeply wanted to Armor-All the plastic and rubber.

You know what I'm sayin.

5 out of 5 eggsForce M9 ICE

Pros: Works great on all surface, great battery life, feels good in the hand, buttons are very easy pressed.

Cons: Wireless range not to great seems to accept interference from laptop or signal is easily blocked by objects.

Other Thoughts: Needs stronger signal range.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Mouse

Pros: Comfortable, sleek, and just awesome. Really cool design, look, and feel. Fits a larger size hand very comfortably. All buttons are easily reached. Tracking is amazing. Does really work on everything, I tried.

Cons: Does not have 4 directional scrolling. But most mice don't.

Other Thoughts: I bought this mouse after buying the Logitech Marathon Mouse. It's a good comfortable mouse with 4-way scrolling. But the tracking was awful. So that's why I bought a Gigabyte ICE.

For faster scrolling, the default function of 6th button on the right side of the mouse is used for faster scrolling. When you click and hold the button it's basically like if your grabbed the scroll bar with the mouse. So it does scroll pretty fast if you can get used to it. But I changed the function with the Gigabyte software provided from their website. With the software you can make the buttons do anything almost.

3 out of 5 eggsReasonable choice for the price

Pros: Comfort, reliable tracking, DPI switching

Cons: DPI switching limited to hard presets, proprietary Gigabyte mouse behaviors unreliable, heavy, lacks build quality compared to similar mice from same brand

Other Thoughts: I have used a Gigabyte M8000 mouse for the last 4 years or so, and been very satisfied with the M8000X I paired with a system built for a family member. When I decided to take a job offer overseas, I need to become a laptop user and I hoped this mouse would largely be a wireless version of my M8000 with slightly reduced performance. Although they look largely the same, this M9 ICE is much lesser quality than both of the mice mentioned above. Both mouse buttons wiggle in place, and the mouse wheel does not tilt. The DPI switching's usefulness is also limited because you can't customize the DPI settings for each position. It uses two AA batteries which makes it base heavy. Gigabyte's software which is not included in the box is also quirky. Free scrolling is fussy about which programs it wants to work with. I am keeping it because its shape is the same as the mouse I've become accustomed to using for many years. Its performance and quality on the otherhand, are merely acceptable.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfect - Amazing mouse

Pros: It literally tracks on everything extremely well. On glass it's smooth and consistent, eliminating the need for a mousepad. Ergonomics are great as well with buttons in the right spot. Mouse looks amazing in real life. Adapter tucks away underneath mouse when not in use. There is also a hard switch on the bottom to help save battery life when traveling.

Cons: Software is downloadable, not a big deal. The site makes you do some digging for it. Could be larger but that's preference as I have large hands.

Other Thoughts: LEDs do not stay light unless you use the button on the mouse to change DPI settings. They light up 1 through 4, indicating which setting you're on, then they shut off after a few seconds. This is perfectly fine with me, as it saves battery life.

This mouse seems better suited towards palm style grip but both feel ok to me. Many companies advertise their mouse working on any surface but this is the first that truly feels normal when using it on glass and other non-traditional surfaces. No jumping or jitters.
