5 out of 5 eggsFor Use By Your Second Hand

Pros: I got this a few years ago to relieve some strain on my right hand from overuse of the mouse in Sketchup doing repetitive work for hours at a stretch, by having a mouse type device that I could use with my left hand.

Cons: I got away from the type of use I originally intended it for, which is scrolling, and it is mostly to do with it not being very compatible with SketchUp which is probably a bit finicky about a level of continuity in order to maintain a hold on a pointer.

Other Thoughts: Even though I went to 3D Navigator for doing a lot of those mouse type functions, I still use this device a lot and never abandoned it altogether, and would feel a real loss if I didn't have it.
I think it is especially useful where you need to press the middle mouse button and the left click button, together, for rotating and dragging in Sketchup.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works as expected for Linux

Pros: It worked perfectly, minus the "extra" features, just plugging it into my desktop PC running Debian SID Linux. I get the scroll, and mouse movement, no gestures, but, then again, I never got any "extra" features being that I run Linux. Mostly, any input device that has more than 2 buttons, or complicated installed drivers, never seems to work as they say, when it comes to Linux. But the item does everything I would need, scroll, point, tap, along with left / right mouse clicks. Even the upper left button does what my last 4 button trackball did, opens new tab on click link in my web browser. Small unit, and it doesn't take any real estate from your desk surface. I hope the unit survives, as I am a punisher of input devices. I've gone through mice, and trackballs, ever since I got into computers. I figure as this device pretty much doesn't have any moving parts, it may survive a little longer than my previous devices.

Cons: I don't mind the item, its cleanly designed, just that you don't "feel" where the point surface changes to the scroll area. I tend to slide my finger across the surface till I hit the edge, to locate the scroll location. They do include a "visual" where the scroll area is, but, who really should be looking at their input device? Having a nice change of surface between these two areas, would solve a small, "tacticle" feel / touch issue. One last detail, and I guess its becoming an issue as I use the device more. When I first got the unit, I didn't get any false "tap clicks". It seemed either I, or the unit, was less prone to them, but, now, I have to be careful that a touch on the surface doesn't react as a tap click.

Other Thoughts: An excellent input device, even for us Linux users. It just sits there and waits for it to be used. No real estate is taken up on you desk surface to move it about. Don't know what the upper right button does, haven't tried it yet, but the upper left works like my old 4-button trackball. The scroll area works for both scrolling up and down text, web pages, and for changing the six window "screens" I have set up in my desktop interface. The point and movement area of the unit is pretty precise, allowing for "large" movements around the screen, and fine detail moving. A nice improvement to just a 2-button mouse.

2 out of 5 eggsBEWARE - Can Only Program 3 Buttons

Pros: The touchpad and three buttons work well.

Cons: The device is advertised with 4 buttons, however you can only program 3 buttons with the utility/driver for this device.

Other Thoughts: Works great if you only need 3 buttons... I was really looking for four buttons so that I could program Page Up/Page Down for Powerpoint Operation.

5 out of 5 eggsSave urslf from soreness.

Pros: all is A-OK...cannot go wrong in owning one. A little bit slower that a pc mouse...probable not a good unit for gaming. For photoshop work it is just fine. Turn it on the verticle & work in neutral pronation. WOW!

Cons: Sensitive...does require some thought and subsequent practice...
