The headset’s 40mm drivers have a frequency response of 20-20,000Hz to make sure you hear every sound the designer put in because you want to tell if that’s just a rock falling behind you or a gomer trying to sneak up and take you out. The noise-filtering microphone ensures crystal clear in-game communication. It cuts out unnecessary sounds and centers on a gamer's voice. The microphone has unidirectional pick-up and a 50-16,000Hz frequency response, so even the most squeal-prone gamers will be covered. Moreover, the microphone can rotate up to 270° and be put completely out of sight if you like.

The adjustable, heavily padded headband and extra-large ear cushions ensure superior comfort for hours of gaming. Volume is controlled via an in-line microphone that sits in the middle of the 3-meter-long headset cable. The cable terminates with two 3.5mm audio jacks for headphone and microphone. Lightweight, comfortable, and with outstanding sound quality, this unique headset will help you stay in command! Show your sound and money sense - this headset is a great buy!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Headset I've Owned

Pros: This headset lasted longer than all of my others, and was by far the most comfortable headset I've ever owned. The sound quality was good, but nothing incredible or particularly memorable. My high score is pretty much due to the comfort and durability.

Cons: For the price, I would've liked something with exceptional sound quality, but these didn't sound amazing or anything. They were like a decent pair of headphones that you would buy for music, but nothing like those really expensive headphones of amazing quality. Also, the mic seemed to pick up a lot of noise, but whether or not that's a problem depends on your usage. For push-to-talk applications, it's great. In my case, I had problems with push-to-talk buttons in Mumble interfering with my Steam games (I play on Ubuntu Linux and/or Linux Mint, so support for using Mumble while gaming is probably not as high of a development priority as on Windows), so I needed to use voice-activated chat. I sit pretty close to a window air conditioner, so I would often have to turn of the air conditioning to avoid spamming whoever was in the room. However, I don't really fault the headset for that, because again, it may or may not be a con to you. I personally liked it, and I would use push-to-talk whenever I wasn't gaming.

Other Thoughts: I've owned quite a few headsets over the years, and it seems even the best quality headsets are doomed to die earlier than they should. My experience with wireless headsets in the past was pretty abysmal, and having to replace batteries is a chore (plus I don't know how healthy it is to have those signals being sent right next to your brain like that). I always end up getting wired headsets either tangled up, or caught in chair wheels or desk hinges. I also drop headsets a lot because they'll be sitting on my desk and I'll be moving something that gets caught in the wire and pulls it off. Before this headset, I never had another which lasted more than a year. The better ones got close to a year, but never quite made it. This is the first headset I have owned which made it past a year. A few months past a year, in fact. And the funny thing is, I can still hear through it, but the volume is really quiet, and the microphone no longer works. It happened all of a sudden while I was unraveling a bunch of knots in the wire. This thing really was a champion, and I hope the next headset I buy will be as durable as this one.

5 out of 5 eggsBest headset you could possibly buy

Pros: Lasts long, great durability, outstanding sound, crystal clear mic

Cons: After a while the cord kind of got twisty and it curls up which is a little annoying but no big hassle for me.

Other Thoughts: I've had it for a couple years and It's been through a lot and still is in one piece from all of the rage and spills. I highly recommend this headset for any gamer, rager or not it is going to last you probably as long as it has for me, and will probably last a lot longer.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than the new version by far

Pros: - Extra long braided cord means you can move around and not risk yanking it from your PC
- Braided cord isn't susceptible to wearing like rubberized cords
- Very good sound pick-up - even with the mic "up", clear audio input
- large, comfortable padded band

Cons: - Razer products have not-so-great customer support if something goes wrong - I've had a keyboard and two mice from Razer die after the warranty expired when they looked to be in otherwise good condition.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this for about a year now, but I wanted to buy another set for a friend. We accidentally got the "newer" Xbox/PC version....VERY different. This version works without the need for a USB port, and has the audio input/output jacks alone. The new version requires the USB port, and doesn't have the braided cables. It was a huge disappointment, and I would recommend this WAY more than the Xbox/PC version. The audio quality from the PC on the new version was also compromised compared to this.

4 out of 5 eggsdecent headset

Pros: good sound once you get it setup. light weight and doesn't pinch on your ears.

Cons: Had a lot of static to start with. Fixed it by flashing the bios and updating my onboard sound drivers. Cured the static and improved mic quality.

Other Thoughts: very light and not very good at sound cancelling, but for the price it turned out to be a good choice.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this headset

Pros: Excellent sound quality
Good price
Crisp mic

Cons: The wire is excessively long in my opinion. I have half it tied up and it still gets in my way.
Ear cups attract hair far too well. This is especially bad in a house with 2 large dogs.

Other Thoughts: Excellent buy. I recommend this to anyone who asks me about a solid budget headset. However, if you have dogs, long hair, or just want it to look clean, I would recommend buying the leatherette ear cups from Razer.

3 out of 5 eggsGood While it lasted...

Pros: Very Comfortable, the construction of the actual Headset itself was stable had it for about a year of hard use and abuse, and it held fine..

Cons: Their are two cons one of them i mentions in my last review, the one i mentioned last time is that if you use any VOIP programs like TS,Skype, Vent etc it picks up the sound from your headset so people will hear your gaming volume/music/ w/e else you are doing. The new con I'm actually adding is about the cord. I do enjoy the length made it easy to move around a little bit and actually give me the length to move as needed to look at seperate screens, BUT the cloth fabric on the cord actually got twisted and i usually untangled it 2-3 times a day to keep the cord as neat as possible but right below the audio control, it formed a loop that i was unable to undo and within a few days the cloth tore in some areas on the loop and loose strands actually cut the wire in two separate spots on the loop in the cord first one just cutting through the protective rubber wire then 2nd one actually completely severed the entire cord.

Other Thoughts: Even tho this is a good headset and actually has newer models i think razor should try to build in some sort of wire management even a piece of Velcro on the cord to bundle up any slack you may have to hopefully prevent this from happening.

5 out of 5 eggsVery comfortable

Pros: As always, Razer makes great quality products. Very nicely designed headset. Only after 5+ hours of continuous use did it start to hurt my ears. (MMO gamer)
Cord is SUPER long. I can walk across my room.
Does not pick up outside noise like others stated. I live next to a small forest and people used to complain about the tree frog noise coming through my previous headset. They can no longer hear them with this headset.

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great, depending on when it breaks

Pros: Sound was great for the price. Super comfortable and well padded. Fits very good and isn't uncomfortable even after hours of wearing. Everything you'd expect or want out of a headset.

Cons: About 2 months after buying it I was listing to a song and reading through a wiki page when suddenly... no more left speaker. Literally cuts out for no reason. Soon after I find that it still works, but only if my head is turned right and tilted up. Broke enough to ruin my day.

5 out of 5 eggsReal Comfortable Headphones

Pros: Great sound, boom mic gives good output, nice nylon cord, comfort is second to none. Just never had an issue with these. Nice controls on the cord do their job too.

Cons: The cord is extremely long. I can see someone liking this feature but it can get in the way. I've just never needed the extra length. Over time it tends to wind one way or the other so you have to unhook it and spin the headphones to unravel the cord.

Other Thoughts: I have had 5+ headphones sets over the years (all different brand names) and can say without a doubt that these are the most comfortable I've ever worn, especially for gaming.

Are they the best sounding? I don't know, but to my ears they really sound good with a solid punch in the bass end. Voices are very clear as well as footsteps in the background of BF3 and 4.

I can turn Zeppelin up loud enough to hurt my ears with no distortion. This is a very comfortable headset that I have no regrets in purchasing.

2 out of 5 eggsfell to pieces after only 6 months

Pros: sounded good and worked well before abruptly crapping out.

Cons: after owning these for probably over half a year i have to use my girlfriend's hair tie to hold the cord in place around the earphone so that they actually work.
and oddly enough they have to be plugged in halfway to my pc to have full volume.

Other Thoughts: not worth the money, buy a wireless headset instead.
