1 out of 5 eggsRazer tries to make it better....

Pros: See Previous Response

Cons: See Previous Response

Other Thoughts: Razer reached out to me to see if they could do anything to help. Sent them an email on 9/24/2012. After explicitly stating that their RMA policy was something I wasn't a fan of in the previous review, they offered to "allow" me to go ahead and send them my mouse again, exactly the thing I didn't want to do.

I explained that this was one of the main reasons I didn't like their service, and that I didn't want another Razer Mamba, I didn't like the mouse. I suggested that they send me a different Razer product, like a keyboard of lesser value, so I could try that out instead.

They then "escalated" the issue and I waited over a month (got this email Nov 2nd) for another response. Surely they were talking my case over and working on a resolution of some kind......nope:

"Hey Andrew,

I apologize for the delay in receiving a response. I have reviewed your case, unfortunately, we can only do a 1 to 1 exchange for the product, the same model that comes in is what goes out and we will not be able to exchange it for another model or product. As for shipping the product in, as per our warranty terms, we must receive the product at our warehouse before the replacement can be shipped out. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,
Sean M.

Well, that does it. Terrible product, even worse support. Never again.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: Highly customizable. Wired/Wireless. Looks pretty.

Cons: - Overpriced
- Falls apart. Rubber pieces just fall off and get sticky goo all over the place.
- Horrible support
- Only mouse I've ever owned where the laser fails intermittently (either due to hardware or drivers, not sure)
- Overpriced
- Scroll wheel squeaks
- Poor battery life on wireless.
- Overpriced

Other Thoughts: Called customer support to try and get a replacement mouse. Told me to ship them the mouse and a couple of weeks later they'd send me a new one. Not sure what they expect me to do in the meantime....kinda need a mouse. Bought a Logitech G500 and threw this piece of garbage in the closet.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

Very sorry you were unhappy with the RMA policy. Please contact us again and mention this post so we can find some way to assist you.

Thank you for understanding.

Regards,

Razer Customer Satisfaction

5 out of 5 eggsI love it

Pros: I bought this mouse Feb 2011 and I have loved it. I originally bought it thinking I just HAD to have the wireless feature, but the optic cable is really light and within the last 6 months I've switched back to using it with the cable. It has been a dream to use in gaming and just everyday computing.
That being said, the wireless really was incredibly responsive. I'm not sure I can tell what 1ms vs 10ms is, but I've not had any problems using the wireless.

Cons: Within the last month or so my laptop has started to have trouble initially discovering the mouse. I usually plug and unplug the mouse and it finds it again. I'm not going to ding the rating because it's probably my fault for throwing the mouse and cable in a bag and toting it off to work everyday. I'm thinking the constant pressure on the cable is just too much for the optic cable (maybe I'll try to get another cable from them).

Other Thoughts: I've been looking at getting a second mouse and Razer is definitely high on my list of choices. I won't be getting the wireless this time around because it really isn't necessary for my situation.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: Customizable DPI, Sensitivity stages, independent X and Y axis sensitivity, Plenty of buttons, good shape/feel, profile manager and creator, Wireless and Wired mode.

Cons: Wireless connection problems sometimes, buttons too sensitive, short battery life

Other Thoughts: I bought this mouse over three years ago, I have dropped it, smacked it, and done just about everything you can do to a mouse and I have not had any problems with it. One problem with this mouse however is that it will not track on smooth surfaces. I wore down an aluminium mouse pad's anodized coating and made it shiny, that is when the tracking problems began. Switched to a new mouse pad and good as new. Buttons are in good places also, not too many but not to few, all withing fingers reach. Great mouse, really happy with it. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good mouse in the future.

1 out of 5 eggsDont waste your money!

Pros: .....

Cons: unit has failed on me. randomly hits buttons.
mouse 4 + 5 are always going off on its own.

Other Thoughts: have had the worst luck with this company. Both keyboard and mouse Ive purchased from them have gone out. Their support is very minimal they basically told me your passed your warranty and are out of luck. Worst support do not buy! i got 200 dollars in a keyboard and mouse that both do not work! biggest mistake ever!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse but bad feet

Pros: Best wireless mouse yet.

Cons: The little ultraslick Teflon feet on the bottom are not stuck on that great at all, out of the box they started to slide off. Thats not acceptable if you ask me, for one of the simplest but most important parts on this thing. If you wanted to use this with the Razor Vespula Pad like I did its kinda lame to think that they are going to fall off after a bit of gaming. I got the mouse at the end of May and haven't really used it like normal yet and they are still holding on but still slide around.

Other Thoughts: This is a great mouse and would of been 5 eggs it the feet were better attached, who knows how long they will last.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: High DPI
awesome look
Amazing feel and grip
Lightning fast and accurate tracking
4 extra buttons for a smorgesborg of different functions
Wireless/ wired mode
Razer Synapse memory

Cons: None as of now

Other Thoughts: have 0 problems getting the wire in and out of the mamba. I think that is a defect specific to only some mice.

1 out of 5 eggsEpic mouse, will never buy razer again thanks to support

Pros: Responsive!
More responsive than I need so I turn down the tracking but still excellent. Very responsive wireless or wired.

Comfortable!!
Whether you are a "claw" or "palm" mouse user this mouse is very comfortable. I love the high arch for my palm. By far the most comfortable mouse I own, much more comfortable than my R.A.T. 7.

Good battery life!
10-20 hours of serious gaming I would estimate I get even after several months of use.

Attractive appearance! I love the matte/gloss look and blue glowing dock for charging. However as others have said the matte finish has begun to ware even after just a few months of use. Its looking more slick/smooth where my fingers click at 400 cpm...

Cons: HORRIBLE SUPPORT!!!

Contacted their support after less than 2 months of ownership b/c I had a short in my base or mount(still don't know which). They asked me to ship the product at my expense and wouldn't cross ship. After two weeks of waiting for shipping both ways I open my box to find nothing but the base.

A week later I open box #2 to find my original mouse that was having the issue without the battery, battery cover and usb cable.

Now, I have my original mouse which may or may not be functional and the dock. No usb cable, no battery or cover.

Lets see what is in box #3.

Horrible support!
1. They don't cross ship.
2. They don't provide a RMA shipping label
3. They don't check what you ship them.
4. The phone techs can't do anything other than submit a ticket to the real techs who respond back to you within 24-48 hours(this you can do yourself on their site)
5. They don't listen or read when you contact support
6. SLOOOOW!

Other Thoughts: Love the mouse.
Hate the support.
The support is so horrible that I will never, EVER purchase another razer product unless I get a 3rd party warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsI know I love it.

Pros: I seldom use this mouse actually wired, but I doubt the performance would degrade once physically connected (it didn't in my few experiences... wired). I use this with a multimedia gaming rig and it operates flawlessly from around nine feet away. Looks stylish and never underperforms unless the battery is low. The battery life too is very good... I can leave it off it's very stylish charging stand for around a month.

Cons: It's $130 freaking dollars... gotta be a republican or living off savings and gov't money after being outsourced :P

Other Thoughts: Seriously though, it's a great mouse no matter how you use it, and if you can afford it, don't hesitate to pull the trigger. If you are the type that has to have programmable buttons and the sort, then you may want to look elsewhere.

1 out of 5 eggsUtterly disappointed

Pros: High DPI
Very attractive initial design
Nice Wireless response

Cons: After about a year of ownership, this thing just falls APART. The rubber sides have completely fallen off, had to reattach them with super glue. The rubber material covering the mouse has literally peeled off. It's now half smooth, half rubberized. The scroll wheel squeals ALL THE TIME. I would figure that for 130 bucks, I'd be buying something high quality......apparently I am mistaken. After giving up my lachesis for it's uncomfortable hand positioning, I will never buy a razer product again. Back to logitech I go, at least their products LAST
