5 out of 5 eggsIts either 7.1 or 2.0

Pros: Product is amazing, sound quality is great and the mic moves out of the way when you aren't using it.

Cons: This is my fault, if your computer doesn't support 7.1 you should be prepared to spend another 25$ on a USB adapter. otherwise you will be stuck in stereo sound with these. It feels like sitting in a traffic jam in a Lamborghini.

Other Thoughts: here is the adapter I got to solve the problem, too soon to tell if its a component of the same quality as the headset but it fixes the problem for me. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232028

1 out of 5 eggsTrue 7.1 not worth it!

Pros: Noise Isolation is incredible
Looks great
Braided Cord

Cons: First off I use a Corsair VOID headset as my daily driver for gaming and its Simulated surround is fantastic but I wanted a product to fit my razer peripherals which are a Blackwidow 2016 and Naga Mouse.... Oh how I regret this buy

Sound quality is mediocre, like, horrible, WAY too much bass, even with the base slider all the way down on my soundcard it still didn't suffice.
The true 7.1 didn't feel very accurate compared to my Void's simulated surround.
Build Quality is terrible, Mic broke as soon as I tried to bend it

Other Thoughts: I have also tested a Kraken 7.1 (Simulated surround) And razer seems to focus way too much on BASS, I know there are a lot of people who love to crank up the bass, but let them do it in the software! Don't make it appeal to a niche audience. Once razer makes a headset worth buying I will for sure check it out, but The tiamat and kraken lines are flops in my opinion.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's only meant for 7.1 surrounded sounds, not 5.1 or lower

Pros: -The design of it is nice.
-The durability of the headset is pretty strong. It will last for awhile. 1+ year for sure.
-The microphone isn't in a bad spot.
-The 7.1 surrounded sounds for this is pretty amazing. You can hear them in all direction, which makes this product worth if you have 7.1 surrounded sounds or supporting it.
-It's comfortable for all sizes.
-The controls is actually pretty cool. You can switch from 7.1 to 5.1. 5.1 isn't surrounded sounds, remember that.
-It can stretch to hold your head, like I wrote it fits any head.
-The microphone has a rubby attachment, which makes it bendable.

Cons: -Mic is somewhat okay overall, so it's not the best mic.
-The sound quality is at its best at 7.1 than 5.1 or lower because you won't be able to hear anything.
-You must have a device or something to support this headphone in 7.1 surrounding sounds. It can become a 5.1, but you want 7.1.
-The cord gets somewhat tangling, but isn't an issue for me. For others, it is.
-The base is fairly okay. It could be improved

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this if you are willing to get a headphone that supports 7.1 surrounding sounds. Remember, this headphone is mainly set for 7.1 surrounding sounds than 5.1 or lower becasue you won't get a full experiences in 5.1. Most games supports 5.1 and barely at 7.1. But it's good to have a headphone that can support any front/left/right/behind/center sounds. If you take this headphone into FPS, you'll will be able to hear the footsteps or everything at all direction.

*REMEMBER* It's better for those who wants a headphone that can support 7.1 or wants a 7.1 surrounding sounds.

2 out of 5 eggsGood sound, but EXTREMELY bad design

Pros: First off let me say I purchased these from a local electronics shop.
-The sound is pretty good even with just my mobo 7.1 sound channels.
-They are pretty comfortable one you get them broken in.
-long cord so if you need to reach another computer that is nearby you don't really need to take them off or if your rig isn't right next to you.

Cons: - The plastic that was used in the construction of these is terrible my entire head strap/band is covered in electrical tape trying to keep these from falling apart and being worthless.
- There are some issues finding the right software and getting it installed.
- had issues getting the mic to work correctly in windows 10 - but that may be a windows 10 issue. Headset died today couldn't even keep it on my head with a rubber band. DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY. Once things start breaking on it this headset will get worse and worse till it falls apart.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this headset to other people as it just doesn't have the construction to last long enough to justify the cost. I think I may try to cast a aluminium headband to replace the junk plastic it has now.

2 out of 5 eggsFor only when you need a 7.1

Pros: Good for first person shooters - I have used these with great success with many first person shooters. Having the 7.1 S.S. is real handy When your trying to listen for where people are like in Rainbow Six;Siege.

Good for movies

Durable - I accidentally yank this thing of the desk all the time. I beat these things up and have yet to break in my Experiences

Cons: The cord to the control box is way too shot, I keep pulling the box of the desk(had to hot glue it on). The cord from the box to the PC is a good length.

Sound Quality - Stereo sounds really bad in my opinion, even with adjusting all my settings in many different ways, I have not found a way to make them sound good in stereo.

Compatibility with games. - Some games Audio wont play nice with the 7.1 so you have to switch to stereo or get another set of headphones.

Other Thoughts: I hear that using a sound card with a amp makes them sound better. I have not tried this.

2 out of 5 eggswill never buy another razer product again

Pros: Great 7.1 audio works amazing and i love the fact that the controller works as intended.

Cons: plugged up the headset and i can hear a loud audible wine while not on the mic setting and i don't even have that plugged in. I kept hearing a lot of back ground hissing and then overnighted a creative sound card and that didn't even fix it so out money for shipping and the headset didn't even work as intended. I used a pair of a30s and the only reason why i upgraded is because one of the chords has a short to the right ear. But with all the headache that i have gone through for a good cs:go headset it's not worth it to me

Other Thoughts: Buy it if you want a true 7.1 experience when playing cs go and that it's a good headset don't get me wrong but i have had to big of a headache and now i have to get this rmaed through newegg and pay shipping cost again.. I am not to happy about that.

4 out of 5 eggsGood headset

Pros: Good audio quality, easy to set up.

Cons: This product out of the box had crackling in the speaker, like there was a blown speaker.
Replaced it with another, works fine

5 out of 5 eggsHave stood the test of time!

Pros: Great sound
Great feel
Very sturdy

Cons: Took me a little bit to adjust my music settings, but once I got my music player to work correctly, the sound was awesome!

Other Thoughts: I have had many "gaming" headsets over the years, including Astro a40's. None of them lasted me more than a year, with my 3 kids, and dog, they always ended up with broken mics, cords, and the ear cups being taped on. I got this head set (not from newegg) on Feb 1 2013! have the shipping email saved for my own reference. The head set is still going strong, the mic still works and has no feedback, the ear cups are still attached normally, the sound dock still functions like new. After all this time the only thing that has gone wrong is the fake leather covering on the cushions has started to flake, and rip around the edges, but after contacting Razer support, I now have brand new cushions they shipped me for free!!!! Lets see how long they will go!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsCord wont stop tangling / weighs a million pounds

Pros: - great surround sound, you can tell exactly where enemies are coming from

Cons: - feels like it weighs a million pound, is the cause of my headaches/neck pains
- the headband strap is always uneven making the headset tilt to one side or another
- cord won't stop tangling no matter what length you have it at, it will just keep tangling and become one inch long
- the headset is broken after untangling the cord so many times, the cord literally falls apart

Other Thoughts: - No I would not recommend this headset to anyone who doesn't want to get surgery on their neck after using it
