1 out of 5 eggstotal ripoff

Pros: wireless, comfortable

Cons: - total garbage
- had to return the first pair after a few months
- went to return the second pair after another few months but decided to go with another brand
- constant screech of a 1990's impact printer outbound to all people on the other end
- inbound audio constantly failed
- no 5.1 surround lie
- not digital for PC unless you buy a TOSLINK cable for audio, but then you can't use the microphone, unless you get yet another 3.5mm audio cable to PC, but then you need to buy yet ANOTHER 2.5mm male-to-3.5mm female to connect the headset to the PC, WHICH ISN'T EVEN WIRELESS AT THAT POINT! And even then IT'S NOT 5.1 SURROUND SOUND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNND the outbound VoIP
still screeches

This product was just a total pile of overpriced garbage. After I finally cut my losses with the endless troubleshooting and purchases of extra parts I decided to go with another brand, and researched everything. I found other headsets that were way, way better and of much higher quality but were far less expensive. Do you know why? It's because with this unit YOU'RE PAYING FOR THE WIRELESS CAPABILITY! This unit was easily marked up at least a hundred dollars, simply for the fact that it's wireless. Other than that there is NOTHING good about it. I constantly had problems with it (both of them) and wasted so much money returning the first one, and buying extra parts for the second one. Don't buy this. It's absolute trash! I ended up buying a pair of Turtle Beach Ear Force DP11 Dolby Surround Sound Gaming Headset and guess what! It's actually 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound! AND I DON'T NEED TO BUY EXTRA PARTS! The sound is amazing and the microphone isn't super fragile and ready to break internally LIKE BOTH OF THE RAZER HEADSETS I BOUGHT! Oh and I paid $140 less for the Turtle Beach one! I will never buy another Razer product again...

1 out of 5 eggsMeant 100% for Xbox not PC

Pros: Headset fits very nice and every thing looks pleasing to the eye.

Cons: I am using this for PC only, connectivity is horrible it took me 10- 20 minutes to figure out what settings you need to adjust on the headset and the base just to get the sound to come through the headset without massive static.

Now that I have sound I have no microphone unless I change the headset into a different mode. In which case my microphone works fine only problem then is you get no sound in the headset.

In order to use this headset for any type of competitive gaming I would need to use both my microphone and the headset at the same time.

I am going to request a refund and order the Razer Tiamat 7.1's instead they may be corded but atleast I will get 7.1 surround and a working Mic for the high end price

Other Thoughts: If you are ordering this for use on only your Xbox 360 they will work great.

But if you want to use for gaming on either PC or PS3 do not bother the microphone is not supported for these applications

2 out of 5 eggsBattery Issu

Pros: During my brief usage period the sound quality seems decent. Nice stand with good input/output options.

Cons: Right out of the box battery issue. After each 3 hour charge I only get less than 1 hour of constant audio. Can't even make it through half a movie or decent game session. Tech support response is going slower than other companies I've dealt with adding to the frustration.

Headphones seem a bit large as well. They're pratically as big as my aviation pilot headsets. Fit seems geared to very large heads as well.

2 out of 5 eggsLook good....but no battery life.

Pros: Everything looks great -- the receiver tower, the headphones themselves...they're comfortable. Not too heavy.

The sound is very good.

It was fairly easy to setup with my PC using the SPDIF cable for output.

Cons: I've tried this several days in a row now thinking that the batteries just needed a "deep charge" -- I let them charge for over 18 hours. I can not get these headphones to last more than 1 hour before going dead on me.

The batteries just simply do not last as much as I would expect from a high end wireless headset. I think I could have saved myself quite a bit of money and bought a cheap pair and be equally as satisfied.

Other Thoughts: I'm trying the following: taking the batteries out of the headphones and charging them in a charging station specifically for rechargeable batteries as opposed to using the tower as a charger. I'm very disappointed because I expected for $200 (on the high end of wireless headsets on NewEgg) that I would at least get 4 or more hours out of these things before they go dead.

I will not be buying these again, nor would I recommend them to a friend at this point. Maybe I received bad batteries, but this is just frustrating.

5 out of 5 eggsAn unexpected surprise...

Pros: I use these for PC and XBox gaming replacing all others I have because of their superiority. I own the best of the noise cancelling (which are great if you do not need to communicate and only need L/R stereo 2.0 sound) headphones, several brands of high end cordless headphones which have about 60% of the battery run time as these do and even the most popular 7.1 infra red and RF models of cordless headphones. None of them have such clear sound and range as these do. The mic gives great performance and will automatically mute for you when folded up or you can tap the mute button on the side. In XBox Live chat, it allows you to change from squad chat to private group chat with the press of a button on the other side. It comes with 2 950mAh AAA batteries (few are higher in capacity). 30 ft range in rural env. and through walls. Charging stand is excellent design with fiber in/out allowing daisy chained fiber optic devices. Padding and ear cups are designed for long term gaming marathons.

Cons: I have been unable to get Lithium standard batteries to work in the headset. Though the documentation does not say, it seems to be designed only to use rechargeable batteries to prevent accidental chargin of non-rechargeables when leaving the headset on the docking station.

The fiber optic cable it comes with is the cheapest you would expect to see with any normal headset or device that might come with one. I expect to use one more like a garden hose because it protects the fiber much better when you start tugging on bundles of cable without fear of damaging them with minimal force. Hasn't broken yet. This headset does not state that it will work with the PS3. I have not been able to get it to wwork on my PS3 to watch my 3D BluRays in 5.1 on the wireless headset so do not expect to be able to do so. I have tried everything I can think of, all settings changes, to get it to work but have yet to be successful.

It isn't 7.1 capable at this price (it should be). It is rather spendy.

Other Thoughts: It does provide the standard L/R stereo 2.0 connector and the ability to switch off the surround mode. Also, you can adjust bass and treble individually.

It is obvious when the base transmitter is powered on as the red light under the base illuminates a very aesthetically pleasing red glow and the Razer symbol.

The adjustability of the earcups is pretty fine so it will allow a good fit and comfort for hours.

I would buy them again in a heartbeat and would like to have known the lessons I now know without having to had to go through all the other headsets. Lessons are not usually low cost, especially those worth learning. You get what you pay for with these. I cannot speak for the other reviews but when I compare these with any other wireless units I have, this one stands far above the rest.

2 out of 5 eggsEH!

Pros: optical audio, comfortable, stylish, light weight.

Cons: pricey, the range is only about 15ft with no LoS, 20 with LoS. Standing right outside the office window I get lots of interference, while 20ft away in the kitchen there is none... so long as I can SEE the transceiver, as soon as its out of LoS i get mass static.

Other Thoughts: for a $200 head set i should be able to walk 80ft away, and it should auto detect which sound devices i am using. Not all motherboards have optical in and out.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so good..

Pros: Nice looking headphone and led lighted stand. Seems solid built.

Pretty comfortable after wearing them for 1 hour.

Signal rang around 15-18 feet.

Cons: Disappointed sound quality.

They twisted the sound too much. Makes it just "OK" to play games and watch movies, but not great.

Terrible for listening music.

No avalible software to adjust the sound.

Other Thoughts: Just got it today. Don't have time to test the battery life. Putted it on the docking station for more than 3 hours, still not 100%.

Hope the sound could get better over time like speakers.

Will think twice before buying a Razer product next time.
